Best S&B discovery of 2020?

Mine was definitely the Korean face cloths for exfoliating. No more spending loads on expensive body exfoliators or having to do a big fake tan removal every week.

Now I just do a quick rub all over with one of these and my normal body wash every shower and my body is always lovely and smooth and ready for my next fake tan application.

So thank you to everyone who recommended them!

I've been really pleased with my Estee lauder double wear nude water fresh foundation and the double wear concealer with the pink serum at one end. Also Opi polishes and top coat. Also I have to mention the Johnsons bedtime baby lotion it smells gorgeous, I use it as body lotion.

I tried the Revlon styler but found the Babyliss Smooth Hot AirStyler (which is a paddle brush rather than a round/oval brush) gives a sleeker finish.

My best buys were a few cheap cotton summer dresses from Joe Browns. It's so hard to find cotton, and these served me really well during those summer weeks when it was beautifully warm and we were allowed to go out.

Beauty-wise, nothing very exciting but Neals Yard hand sanitiser was the only one I found that didn't make my hands fall to pieces.

nevernotstruggling · 02/01/2021 20:23

Has anyone bought any under eye concealer that's really good?

Coffeepot72 · 02/01/2021 20:27

I have the worst dark circles, and someone here suggested I try colour corrector. I tried a pale pink corrector and it’s been a complete game changer. It brightens the dark areas to the point that I no longer need concealer. Miraculous!

nevernotstruggling · 02/01/2021 20:28

@Coffeepot72 thanks which one?

Coffeepot72 · 02/01/2021 20:55

I’ve tried Sleek Corrector (pale pink) which is £6.99 from Boots. This is very good and I’ve also tried Chanel Correcteur in Rose (also a pale pink) which has a bit more staying power than the Sleek product.

But I would recommend both and they make all the greyness disappear. I don’t think I will ever use under eye concealer again.

nevernotstruggling · 02/01/2021 21:06

@Coffeepot72 ah thanks that's great - I will buy the sleek one that's not the first time a real person has recommend that brand (as opposed to a magazine etc)

AnneShirleysNewDress · 02/01/2021 21:27

Skin+Me tret (preferred it to Dermatica) and Superdrug Simply Pure serums which are the bargain of the century Grin

nevernotstruggling · 02/01/2021 21:43

@AnneShirleysNewDress with puff sleeves???
But expand on the serums please...

Olaplex bond builder

Bluesheep8 · 03/01/2021 07:49

A jade face roller. I use it in the morning and my skin is much brighter and more even.

Just ordered the Nutmeg leggings.

Laquila · 03/01/2021 16:33

@herethereandeverywhere and @Othering, can you please tell me more about the Olaplex? Do either of you have curly hair? How often do you need to use it?

My curly hair has gone very frizzy and coarse (and grey!!) In the past few years and I'm always looking for a miracle...

Othering · 03/01/2021 16:47

I don't have curly hair but I'm 49 and started to get wiry sprigs sticking up at the top and just generally more coarse hair. Number 3 underwhelmed me but they recently released No 0 and 0 and 3 together are miraculous. They make my hair feel like silk.

optimisticpessimist01 · 03/01/2021 17:12

The Babyliss big hair styler - I love it and it has completely changed my life. Much quicker than doing a traditional blow dry too!

PoulePouletteEternellement · 03/01/2021 17:30

@Itwasgoodwhileitlasted

Barbara Sturm face mask. Takes a year off me!
A year, you say? Interesting ...

I bought her Enzyme Cleanser at the end of January last year - probably still a month left in the tub. Possibly the best cleanser I've ever used and will definitely be re-bought.

I do strongly (but clearly ineffectively!) object to the exorbitant prices of her other products, but am planning to try one or two of them.

When lockdown started I thought my first ever tube of Revitalash would have three clear months to work its magic. As three months turned into apparently decades of only seeing people on screen I lost heart and stopped using it. So cannot tell if it would have worked ...

Martinisarebetterdirty · 03/01/2021 17:48

@PoulePouletteEternellement revitalash is amazing. If I use it in conjunction with Hourglass extreme caution mascara my eyelashes touch my eyebrows. They are still thin but really long. And the tubes last so much longer than they say they will - give it a go again. I promise it is worth it.

WineNotTheLabel · 03/01/2021 18:05

@TwirlingTwizzler

Yep I'm going with tret from Dermatica too. In two months the redness on my face has massively improved.
I am having loads of issues with redness. Is your complexion normal looking now.

I have a separate thread asking about Rosacea redness. I am at my wit's end.

Thanks in advance

Coffeepot72 · 10/01/2021 18:59

@nevernotstruggling just wondering if you’ve tried the pink Sleek corrector yet? I’m getting better with corrector the more I practice and this week has seen my dark circles less visible than they have been in years. Interestingly, if I can (almost) get rid of dark circles, I need less eye make up; probably because I look healthier and generally better, and mascara is all I need to define my eyes?
