Hi! I agree, it's been quite a year and I love the escapism of seeing the fabulous jewellery and the gentler chat here.
I'm sure we have differing views on whether we like or not some of the royals, but I love that this thread is about their outfits, babies, heritage, history and yep.... TIARAS!

I like the photos of Betty and Charles today, with all the pink blossom behind them, they have a real Spring vibe.
I'd love a raincoat just like Betty's with the cape shoulders, and Charles is a man who knows how to make the best of a handkerchief!

One of the Kindle daily deals today is Lady Colin Campbell's book about the Queen Mother. I'd guess that it promises plenty of gossip, as it's billed as her "untold story"!

I quite like the style of HMQ's coat but she's so tiny I feel she's rather overwhelmed by it. She looks a bit swamped. PC looks a bit overdressed in a suit and tie for an outdoor stroll!

Funny you should mention the Queen Mum book by Lady C @AdaColeman as I was looking at it late last night wondering whether to read it.
Lady C is an incorrigible gossip but a lot of the time she's on the money with her revelations.

Seen this one of the Danes painting eggs? The room is so beautiful but the teenagers look a bit reluctant.

The young man on the left looks exactly like my 16yr old DS would look if told to paint eggs! Sort of hunched and reluctant!

My mother always said that it was not her birthdays that resonated with getting older, but it was mine and my brother's. As the mother of two children fast approaching middle age, I can relate.

But then again, HMQ was quite young when she had Charles; sometimes they look as though they are in the same generation.

I often wonder what Diana would have looked like now - I suspect the age gap between her and Charles would be enhanced. I remember in her latter years my grandma getting a bit confused and not knowing who my dad was - she wouldn't believe he was her son because he had white hair!

I do think PC has led a very strange life waiting for 50 plus years for a job he had no choice but to apply for. Most people have retired at this stage

It seems ITV are on a royal documentary boom this year and a new show airing this evening, 7 April, delves into the preparations with first-hand accounts of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s April 2011 wedding, which marks its 10 year anniversary later this month.

The Day Will and Kate Got Married, which airs on ITV at 9pm tonight, revisits accounts from various people involved in the Royal Wedding which took place on 29 April 2011, when 36.7 million Brits tuned in to watch Kate and William say 'I do.'

Among some of the interviewees, we hear accounts from embroider Gemma Murray who worked on the lace for Kate’s Sarah Burton-designed wedding dress and former Metropolitan Police commander Bob Broadhurst who was in charge of security on the day. Kate’s uncle, Gary Goldsmith, whose Ibiza villa was dubbed 'Maison de Bang Bang' by tabloids at the time for the alleged debauchery that took place within its walls, also gives his first ever TV interview in the documentary.
