Hello - let's hope we get a bit more glamour this year and fingers crossed for some tiara watching....

Insta seems to be giving me themed posts, so here are some royals in red.

I've never seen the Princess Diana one before. It was one taken by Patrick Demarchelier apparently.

Diana looks lovely. Red suits her.
There's a Handmaids Tale vibe from Laetizia's outfit.

MotherofPearl · 18/02/2021 18:14

Yes I agree about Leti's outfit.

Max's diamonds!Shock

latedecember1963 · 18/02/2021 18:58

I know! Each of those diamonds individually are probably beyond the budget of most people. Max wears bling so well, she never looks overwhelmed by it.

paradyning · 18/02/2021 20:33

Ooo I love Leti's dress. Diana looks amazing! And Max!

Horsemad · 18/02/2021 21:10

Diana really did have star quality, didn't she?

MotherofPearl · 19/02/2021 08:37

I agree @latedecember1963. I think the same is true of Camilla. She can wear absolutely heaps of diamonds and doesn't seem swamped by them.

MrsRockAndRoll · 19/02/2021 22:32

Diana was radiant

Hairydilemma · 19/02/2021 22:49

Diana in that pic looks like she’s just really understood her own sassiness - fantastic photo

Maireas · 20/02/2021 10:55

August Philip Hawke Brooksbank.
August is an interesting name for a boy. Maybe a version of Augustus?

Well, it's a bit different, I'm not sure I like it although he'll not have to spell it out I suppose.

Cutie! ❤️

latedecember1963 · 20/02/2021 11:20

What a sweet little baby. I love the colour and texture his blanket and hat.
Babies usually grow into their names. I quite like the fact it's something different. Having worked in education for over 30 years I've come across my fair share of unusual names but somehow they've always fitted the child.

Maireas · 20/02/2021 11:25

Sweet pictures! They all look happy and well. I wonder if people will think it's his birth month?

gingercat02 · 20/02/2021 11:58

Interesting name. I have a friend with an April who was born in September! For the photo I would have had Jack in a more contrasting jumper!

gingercat02 · 20/02/2021 12:02

DS who is 12 said maybe they love Wonder (book and film) as the lead character Auggie is called August. Don't watch it unless you enjoy crying 😭

frugalkitty · 20/02/2021 12:08

Name update!

Lovely photos, and he's very sweet!

Just a quick Q for all of you more knowledgeable than I am about these things: is it the case that Eugenie's child has no right to any kind of title? Even though she's grandchild of the monarch and a princess?

Maireas · 20/02/2021 12:27

No right to any title. Just like Peter and Zara Phillips. The title of Prince or Princess is for the children of the monarch, and the grandchildren of the male line, and the eldest child of the Prince of Wales.
Any dukedoms or earldoms conferred result in aristocratic titles eg Princess Margaret's son, Lord Snowdon.

Cute baby & love the name.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 20/02/2021 14:42

I can quite imagine Queen Victoria up there in heaven being absolutely over the moon that her beloved Albert had been remembered- as in the name August - Albert rolling his eyes & muttering "Yes dear I'm thrilled too with our 5x great grandson's name but you've spent the last 18 hrs going on about it & what's for dinner?" GrinGrin
Prince Albert's full name was Francis Albert Augustus Charles Emmanuel (Franz Albert August Karl Emanuel in German)

frugalkitty · 20/02/2021 16:55

I wonder how much input Fergie might have had in looking for baby names, after all she opted for Beatrice and Eugenie from the Victorian archive which both took the world by surprise (although I'm sure one chap made a small fortune when Eugenie was born because he'd twigged that she'd been Beatrice's daughters name, well, one of them).

My first two have three syllables in their names and my mum said that number three having a single syllable name wouldn't fit together as well. I almost believed her, but then figured that if it had been DH's mum who'd told me that I'd have told her what for, so single syllable son he is!

JollyGreenGiantess · 20/02/2021 19:13

Beautiful little chap and I’m sure he will grow into the name.

Not a fan of the headband (sorry HRH)
