What colour is my new hair?

I asked for copper/auburn and they used intense copper blonde mixed with something else.

To me, this looks purple/auburn? I struggle a bit with colours but definitely not what I expected.

Can you post a before pic! ?

There’s deffo no copper in there! It’s purplish-auburn. Black cherry type colour. It’s really nice, but if I’d asked for copper I’d not feel I’d got what I’d asked for. Copper is warm-toned whereas this is definitely more cool-toned.

You must be seeing what the op is seeing, and no one else is

Defo no purple

Well if it was a Farrow & Ball colour I think they'd call it Yacht Fascia.

Red fades and goes lighter pretty quickly so it will fade into a more coppery colour soon anyway. Definitely don't see purple though!

I would say red. It looks nice but worlds apart from auburn! But will probably fade quite fast so you might like it better in time!

Dark pinky auburn

@Lizzie523 these were taken a week apart, first is freshly done, very similar lighting. Two weeks later and it’s even lighter/more light copper now- but I will redo it next week to get it a lovely dark auburn for Xmas!

Yeah I aimed for this colour to be honest, so I went pinker to get the rose gold sort of colour- but I think that’s what the hairdresser has preempted with you hopefully!

I cannot see any copper or purple.

I see purple too - I would say it's a mahogany auburn - I wouldn't call it copper.

@JMAngel1 that before photo had some blonde highlights but my natural hair colour is copper/auburn. Sadly it used to be more vibrant. Since my early to late twenties, the red darkened a lot.

Makes me sad, but ah well at least I get to play around with different shades. Thanks forghe compliments all.

I'd say they did exactly what you asked for, it looks great. Not sure how you're seeing purple.
