Little bit but who cares? I am the other side of 40 now so all about comfort!!

batteriesgoing · 06/12/2020 13:46

Men get on my tits with this stuff. I think they expect you to trek miles with prams in all weathers in a pair of stiletto boots.

Yes, v old lady imho.

Floisme · 06/12/2020 13:48

What do you mean? If you're asking if we think they're ugly or unstylish why not just say so?

I prefer the look of Pikachubaby's if that helps, but I think that fleecy trim will look grubby very quickly. I think Celtic and Co do a washable version although it might cost quite a bit more.

MustBeThursday · 06/12/2020 13:51

I like them 🤷🏻‍♀️ I'm 32. I have some really comfy sketchers boots with memory foam soles and they're so warm and comfy I don't actually care what they look like to anyone else

Miseryl · 06/12/2020 13:59

I personally don't like them but taste is subjective. If you like them, wear them!

HollyandIvyandallthingsYule · 06/12/2020 14:01

Oh god, his better suggestion is Uggs?? You can safely disregard everything he says!

BecomeStronger · 06/12/2020 14:01

I like them far better than Uggs. DH clearly knows nothing

AJTracey · 06/12/2020 14:08

They aren’t old lady. Just mum who has given up and buys her shoes in Tesco.

Real Uggs don’t go saggy.

There is a difference between Stylish/Fashionable and practical. These do the job, but are not fashionable or stylish.

nancybotwinbloom · 06/12/2020 14:09

If you get uggs go for dark brown and you can get them with a wider lip so the fabric stays cleaner let me find you a pic

nancybotwinbloom · 06/12/2020 14:12

They may not do the ones I mean but I found you these.

They will be more hard wearing than standard uggs from the look of them.

I think they’re dreadful sorry op but you did ask

DelphineWalsh · 06/12/2020 14:25

Its the grey sole that does it no favours. If it was black with a darker suede it would be a bit better.

MitziK · 06/12/2020 14:28

@batteriesgoing

I need something flat and warm, easy to get on for the school run. Dh suggested uggs but I'm not sure. I always think they look sloppy quickly.
I never got the love for Uggs because they (or the Primark copy) were the boot/slipper of choice for my mother and her friends, all over 75 - they were 'just like the tartan single boot thing, but you can walk to the kitchen in them'.

And then I realised just how many people over pronate in them (the real ones as well as the cheapies), they seem to be a recipe for permanent ankle injury, achilles damage and plantar fasciitis.

In any case, he's got no business policing your feet. So he can fuck off.

GoldfishParade · 06/12/2020 14:30

Why dont you just get a nice pair if comfy biker or hiker style boots?

Anything is better than this ugg slipper style, it looks sad and tired on everyone

allthegoodusernameshavegone · 06/12/2020 14:30

Why do you care what other people think, you like em, wear em. I personally think they look fine.

Eh?

chunkyrun · 06/12/2020 14:33

They look warm and toasty to me

DixieLandReject · 06/12/2020 14:37

I'm 33 and I would wear them but I did give myself a wash and set on Friday Grin

TheFormerPorpentinaScamander · 06/12/2020 14:40

I think they are lovely. They look nice and warm and comfy. Uggs are hideous.

W3dontdoduvets · 06/12/2020 14:42

Did you buy then from People’s Friend?

batteriesgoing · 06/12/2020 14:42

Must just be mine then

bloodywhitecat · 06/12/2020 14:44

See, now I am 57 and I wouldn't wear them because I think they are too young for me!

thedevilinablackdress · 06/12/2020 14:44

They don't look very practical for winter walking. They'll get filthy.
(Àlso a feeble plaintive request not to use 'old' as an insult).

SimplySusanna · 06/12/2020 14:47

Sorry op I agree with your dh.

I also think the colour and fabric are really impractical if they're for everyday mooching round. I have flat black and brown leather ankle boots for everyday wear because they're comfy and easy to fry on and off, hardwearing, waterproof, stain proof and they go with absolutely everything in any colour, from jeans to leggings to a dress and tights.
