Thanks everyone. It is a really lovely tradition and I value it hugely. I'm very lucky as my Mum is super stylish (far more so than me 😂) so I always come away with new ideas etc.

@OublietteBravo love your culottes. I'm so tempted to invest in a pair, they look great! I was amazed we were allowed to try stuff on too. I think it's because it's a tiny little boutique in a small town, so was only us in there for 90% of the time and they have the ability to clean it all really well in between customers. Forgot how much nicer clothes shopping is when you can actually try items on before you commit to buying them.

Love your new coated jeans @Sooverthemill, and I think that kind of burgundy colour is surprisingly versatile and goes with all sorts!

Lovely new boots @Purplecatshopaholic. I've been eyeing up a pair of the flat suede Reginas for a while. I have the heeled, leather versions, but the suede are so, so lovely.

I'm wearing a new jumper, purchased yesterday. It's very cosy. Perfect for the freezing weather today, I'm delighted with it.

Jumper - InWear, I'd never heard of this brand before yesterday, but I seem to have come away with several items of clothing from them! 😂
Jeans - Topshop
Headband - Lottie Loves
Earrings - Last True Angel, another purchase from yesterday.

Will wear with DMs when I go to collect DS (and Aigle wellies when I walk the dogs... Very stylish... 😂)

@toastfiend In Wear is a fab brand, goes back years. Used to see it when I worked in Selfridges.

@Sickoffamilydrama yes clothes were pretty much optional in my college days! Late 1970swere kind of fun. I'm watching The Crown and oh how it brought it all back the late 70s early 80s

The thing with the coated jeans @coffeeandcardigans is that like all of my clothes I don't have anywhere to wear them either as even without a global pandemic I rarely go out but I just like dressing as if I do!

PalacePaper · 08/12/2020 22:41

@VanityWitch I love your jumper dress - looks very cosy. Thank you @Dauphinois, I can't wait to wear my star dress but of course have nowhere to wear it to so Christmas Day may be the first opportunity Smile

Wearing my sweaty Betty splurge buys from #lockdown1 today - all about the loungewear Grin

Your day out sounds lovely toast Smile

OublietteBravo · 09/12/2020 08:00

It feels odd to be wearing skinny jeans. My style has obviously evolved in the last year. I’m wearing two thermal layers under the shirt - I hope I’ll be warm enough.

Shirt: Boden
Belt: Mint Velvet
Jeans: Boden
Boots: Celtic & Co

Love those ecco boots @Sickoffamilydrama. I find ecco footwear very comfortable but yes the soles are not very hard wearing. Love that sweater dress @VanityWitch. Great colour and style. Great to have a coat recommendation @Annasgirl. Looks good. I love burgundy trousers @Sooverthemill. Wear them round the house. No point keeping everything for good. Today jumper jigsaw, new (to me) cords from Tommy Hilfiger. Very soft, comfortable cord.

Also fantastic boots @Purplecatshopaholic. Perhaps you are out of tier 4 now and can wear them somewhere. Glasgow is out of tier 4 so I can visit my mum, hooray! She lives alone so we're in a bubble with her.

Sooverthemill · 09/12/2020 09:20

@Greyhairwarmheart I wear everything around the house as it is literally the only place I go, ever. Getting so fed up with DH saying how awesome it will be post vaccine when he can travel again and go to the theatre! Lockdown has actually improved my and DDs quality of life because there are more home deliveries and stuff is streamed we could never see. DD has 'been to' her first live music event. I'm kind of dreading 'normal' ( I don't in any way mean to offend anyone).

Today I'm in cosy clothes and had to dress fast because we are waiting for the community phlebotomy service to come. No idea of when just 'after 8 and before 5. So had to sort out DD super early. Bet they come this afternoon! Maybe these people will actually get the test processed?

Excuse mess
Jumper: old seasalt
Shirt: old zara
Jeans: old hush boyfriend
Trainers: air and grace

Sorry @Sooverthemill I didn't mean to be insensitive. It makes me wish I could sit with your daughter to let you out but I remember you've said that sitters don't work either. How frustrating for you. Best of luck with your daughter's blood test today.

Ellapaella · 09/12/2020 10:36

@toastfiend I have a similar tradition with my Mum - sadly she lives 300 miles away and i'm
In tier 3 so it won't be happening this year. We sometimes just go into Newcastle but often make a day trip from my house to York for the day and see the ice sculptures too. A few years ago we took the ferry over to Amsterdam - that was an amazing trip and i would love to do that again. We had plans to do Liverpool this year - will have to just wait until next year. Hope you had a lovely trip out with your Mum.

Today I'm wearing my Hush coated jeans, Cashmere jumper from M&S (got with the recent 20% sparks discount), DM's and Boden coat from last year.
Day off today woohoo! Meeting a friend for a walk on the beach and take away coffee.

morning. i'm hopping back in if that's ok.

back to working from home, and so am in my comfy's today. ripped skinny jamie jeans (topshop - RIP topshop), and a cream jumper from fat face. slippers are from joules. not planning on leaving the house today.

am envious of the fairfax and favour boots. have been lusting after a pair for a while.

Ellapaella · 09/12/2020 10:58

@Dauphinois I love that outfit. I got a beautiful sequin skirt last year which I wore for a few christmas nights out - wish i had somewhere to wear it this year!

Sooverthemill · 09/12/2020 11:10

@Greyhairwarmheart wasn't insensitive honest! And thank you, sorry having a bad day today, spent most of it in tears as GP practice have said DD is taking up too many nursing hours! Nurse has visited twice this whole year for maybe 20minutes a time

Dauphinois · 09/12/2020 13:13

@Ellapaella I know, if only we all had somewhere to go!

@OublietteBravo that Oasis skirt is a nice shape but I think if I'm going to go sequin-ny it needs to be really bling!! Not that I have anywhere to wear it either of course.....

Navy and camel combo today, always a classic!

Oh @Sooverthemill, I'm really sorry to hear that, that's terrible and sounds absolutely unfair from what you've said. My parents had similar a while ago, my Dad had sepsis (second time) due to a raging infection that he'd been given the wrong antibiotics for (turned out to be MRSA). The practice initially refused to see him and made my Mum, who used to be a nurse, feel terrible about pestering them. She ended up taking him to A&E where he was admitted and ended up in hospital for 3 weeks. I realise GP surgeries are overstretched, and I caveat this with the fact that mine have always been wonderful, but I think sometimes it can be forgotten that there are real people worrying about their loved ones on the end of the phone/requesting help. I hope you manage to get the bloods sorted today.

I got my mole biopsy results back yesterday, all completely normal, which I'm very relieved by.

DS and I went to the zoo today. Please excuse the blurry picture, he was chasing me around the room! 😂

Jacket - Topshop
Dungarees - Lucy & Yak
Top - H&M
Boots - don't know brand, bought preloved.

This is awful! I'm so sorry to hear that @Sooverthemill. I think I remember you and your dd from previous threads.

Love that your dd has got to go to a live music gig over lockdown! I hope things like that continue. I think they will.

Here I am in my christmas top (Tu) and navy cardi. Wearing with navy bootcut jeans. Very navy today.

Sooverthemill · 09/12/2020 13:32

@toastfiend that's brilliant news. I'm so happy for you

Thank you everyone, sorry it's just that it feels like the last straw. And the community phlebotomy team have cancelled today's visit ( which I had to phone to find out) and need to speak to me about 'the limitations of the service we can offer you'. The bloody blood test is needed just because the previous 3 haven't been processed properly. It's hardly us asking for a manicure!

Softpebbles · 09/12/2020 13:35

@Purplecatshopaholic love the new boots, I have been lusting after some of the tan ones, I keep entering their competitions to try and win! no luck yet. I may save and have a day out at Holt where their shop is.

@PalacePaper I am wearing my sweaty betty cropped hoody today too. Its quite snug for WFH.

I am meeting a friend for a walk tomorrow @Ellapaella but think I will need my wellies and definitely my north face parka. There is something I love about a take away coffee.

no photos for a while as I seem to be living in skinnies and hoodies. Anything I have ordered I have sent back, most recently the hiking style boots from M and S. They just looked hideous on me. Some fat face ones have arrived today so I shall try those. I just want some nice brown boots for with blue jeans.

Sickoffamilydrama · 09/12/2020 15:54

Great news @toastfiend.

I'll come take blood for your @Sooverthemill if I had a way too, it is so frustrating it's probably time to complain and be a little difficult, is sounds like their response is frankly not good enough. I'm cross for you Xmas Angry

Nice boots @Purplecatshopaholic

Like these two colours together
Coatigan Sainsbury's
Dress H&M
Boots Ecco
Ring Pylones

@Sooverthemill sorry it's been a bad day Thanks

@Ellapaella I'm envious of your sparks discount - I've had nothing more than a discount on a bag of Percy pigs for months Hmm

I've also started brightening up walks with a takeaway coffee. I live on the edge of a small town with lovely countryside around but I felt like I spent so much time walking through mud that I've met people for a walk around the town with a takeaway drink a couple of times for a change and really enjoyed it.

I'm wearing my leather skirt from oasis and jumper from Uniqlo today. I've just been working at home but I'm trying to make an effort to wear the things I love, otherwise they'll never get worn at this rate!

Dauphinois · 09/12/2020 16:54

Nice skirt @PalacePaper - I love a leather skirt!

OublietteBravo · 10/12/2020 08:29

I give you “clothes suitable for moving around in”

Base layer: Primark
Jumper: Hush (it’s sparkly - not just brown)
Joggers: Hush
Boots: Ecco

I’m not looking forward to today. My meeting schedule is: 10:30-12:00; 12:00-14:30; 12:00-12:45; 12:30-13:00; 13:00-14:00; 14:20-14:35; 14:30-15:30. No idea when I’m going to get lunch (or even a toilet break).

ememem84 · 10/12/2020 08:46

@OublietteBravo is that a typo on your meeting schedule? If not how can you be ina. Few places at once?

Time turner maybe?!

Today will be a comfies day.

OublietteBravo · 10/12/2020 08:55

Nope. Not a typo. Overlapping meetings. Including being triple booked from 12:30 to 12:45 Shock. Not sure where I’m supposed to fit in lunch (or even a toilet break).

OublietteBravo · 10/12/2020 08:56

I’m going out for a walk now (otherwise I simply won’t leave the house at all).
