Please talk to me about the latest trend with Jeggings being cut to show your ankles?
I've been wearing stretchy jeggings for years, mainly Gap. I've just ordered a couple of new pairs after my 2 year old pairs have worn. The new ones are shorter, so stopping above rather than below my ankle bone. This wasn't clear on the description, but when I spoke to Gap chat last night, they said they've changed the jegging style to be like this.
Looking at some other websites, it looks like this must be the new style. I suppose so 'cooler than me' women can wear jeggings with trainers/trainer liner socks, rather than ankle socks.
I've just turned 40 and I guess my main thoughts are:
- Am I too old for showing my ankles?
- Will my ankles get cold?
- Doesn't it look like I've shrunk them in the wash?!
I'd appreciate some style advice from those in the know about if I should embrace this new slightly shorter style, or try to find full length jeggings from somewhere if they exist. I'm not interested in skinny jeans as I prefer the feel of them being super tight all down my leg.
Note, I'm 5' 3" with longish legs for my height, so usually a 26R fits me perfectly at full length.
Either way, I wasn't particularly bothered with the quality of the GAP ones, so will look elsewhere. Any recommendations for a pair under £50. My SIL has recommended River Island Molly leggings for starters.
