Can anyone recommend a powdery, musky, mysterious, dark perfume?

I'm looking for a powdery, musky, mysterious dark perfume/ scent. Oriental, musk, expensive and mysterious smelling. Violet, jasmine, all the lovely oriental notes. From budget to hundreds.

Current and past faves include: Vanderbilt, violet sky from Tesco, kerbside violet from Lush, So.. Dark Romance, Michael Kors Midnight Shimmer, Miss So Love Potion and Awesome by Primark which I've been told smells like LouLou by Cacherel but I have never smelt that so no idea if that is true. Not old enough to remember it being around and I only wear Vanderbilt as my nan and mum wore it but I do like the smell - it's lovely to me.

I like musk fragrances too some extent such as white musk but I like to smell darker and mysterious. White musk is - on my skin - very clean-smelling and I prefer darker notes.

I would try boots, the perfume shop and department stores on my day off, usually but I've missed the boat somewhat now, haven't I? Hmm

Can anyone recommend me a perfume, body spray or scent line that I may like given those past choices, please? DH has asked for a few options for birthday next week (30 eeeeeekkkk) and Christmas. From budget to higher end any oriental smells you think I may like would be very welcomed! Any ideas very gratefully received thanks all! I'll be ordering blindly as I won't get to try it first, either.

TIA

I agree narcisso Rodriguez for her. Also two others not mentioned bvlgari Jasmin noir, and cerruti 1881 powdery and rich, they’re both gorgeous

@Gertrudetheadelie

Arpege was my work perfume! So long lasting and lovely. Not that common either so it felt a bit more interesting. Also, the cap doesn't fall off in a suitcase which is a plus!
Gertrude - I’m fed up with blind buys that I end up not liking. Please can I trouble you to describe Arpege? Someone told me they thought that it was like Chanel no5. I’m not a big Chanel fan. That said I’m older now and maybe I’d like it better now.

Arpege is leathery. Lots of oakmossy base notes. It's not at all like Chanel 5 apart from the oskmoss note. Arpege is very grown up and grande dame, not sweet in the slightest.
It's fab!

Dior addict is very heavy and musky.
Must try some of the other suggestions here.
Ghost deep night is great for a cheapy thanks for the reminders

Hugo Boss Deep Red
It's what I moved onto from LouLou

It's already been mentioned a couple of times - but the Agent Provocateur, in the ceramic pale pink bottle. It's very heady, I love it for going out in the evening (back when that was allowed!). It's what I think hollywood actresses of yesteryear must have smelt like.

I think you’d definitely find something in Penhaligons - I’d wait until next week and go into a store with your OH as it’s actually a really nice experience too. I wear Changing Constance which is youthful but sexy - it’s caramel, salt and just delicious!

In the Christmas section a post on independent online shops has a perfume shop in Leicestershire that will be of interest, possibly

It’s much cheaper than the high street and gives the notes and smells of each perfume

Juniper jazz by Molton brown. I got it as a sample I love it.

@Mytholmroyd

Also love Chanel's Coromandel as others have recommended.
Agree. The chanel exclusives are divine.

@motheroftwoboys

Aromatics Elixir by Clinique is GORGEOUS!
It is gorgeous, I agree but the perfume is way too strong. I have the shower gel and body lotion and they are exquisite and strong enough in themselves to act as a perfume. The shower gel makes the bathroom smell gorgeous all day too.

@Aprilcherry04

Another vote for Narciso Rodriguez.
