What is your very favourite hand cream?

I'm looking for something for my horrible dry winter hands, made worse by all the hand washing. Bonus points if it also smells gorgeous (no particular skin sensitivity)! I don't mind spending a bit if it actually works Grin

Astral - hands down (no pun intended) it’s the best, reasonably priced and you can use it as body moisturiser eg for feet.

WellTidy · 02/11/2020 15:04

any of the crabtree and evelyn ones. usually on offer as a set of three or six in tk maxx.

Eaumyword · 02/11/2020 15:09

I rate Shay and Blue Blood Oranges hand cream. Lovely rich consistency that doesn't leave hands greasy. It smells delicious, just like freshly squeezed blood oranges with some cloves added. Yum.

amusedtodeath1 · 02/11/2020 15:11

O'Keeffe's hand cream, doesn't look fancy but it's really good.

Eaumyword · 02/11/2020 15:11

Sorry, meant to say they are £10 each, but I think they are currently doing a Discovery Box where for £25, you get your choice of 2 hand creams, 2 10ml perfumes and 2 sample sized perfumes.

Mumtumwobble · 02/11/2020 15:13

Clinique is the best when my hands are really sore.

AriesTheRam · 02/11/2020 15:13

Clarins

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 02/11/2020 15:14

I can't stand 99.99% if hand creams as I detest the feeling in my hands. The only one I can cope with is the Clarins Jeunesse des Mains.

It smells 'ok', but not lovely.

Deux · 02/11/2020 15:16

Body Shop hemp, Flexitol foot balm or similar, La Roche Posay Citaplast, Neutrogena Light. Agree with the Crabtree and Evelyn recommendations too.

DannyGlickWindowTapping · 02/11/2020 15:18

Neutrogena concentrated during the day, and O'Keefe's at night. My hands are a mess from washing and anti-bac, and this combo sorts them out. No fancy smell, tho. I do like some of the Korres creams, and they smell gorgeous, but aren't powerful enough at the moment. Very nice to have "out", tho.

Fifthtimelucky · 02/11/2020 15:21

Neutrogena for me too. It doesn't smell nice (it's unscented) but it's very effective and a little goes a long way.

missmouse101 · 02/11/2020 15:36

Palmers cocoa butter hand cream is magnificent and smells gorgeous!

GiveMyHeadPeaceffs · 02/11/2020 15:38

Body Shop Hemp hand cream is great and a little goes a long way.

sleepwhenidie · 02/11/2020 15:46

The Aesop one is fantastic but crazy £. I really rate the blue bottle of E45, not luxurious but I think v effective.

Megan2018 · 02/11/2020 15:50

L’occitane Shea butter or Body Shop Hemp

pinkbalconyrailing · 02/11/2020 15:50

weleda skin food
or palmer's cocoa butter

Voodoorain · 02/11/2020 15:55

I second Clarins. It absorbs really easily and makes my hands really soft. All the other ones I used seem too greasy now. It smells very light and fresh.

TheTurnOfTheScrew · 02/11/2020 15:56

Neals Yard Mint and Bergemot has the nicest scent.

rosettesforjill · 02/11/2020 16:04

So many options, thank you so much!! I'm sure I will be working through all of them at some point this winter!

Jocasta2018 · 02/11/2020 16:27

During the day, Neutrogena Visibly Renew - it has SPF in it which I'm hoping is doing my hands good!
Neutrogena unscented hand cream at night.

malhurst · 02/11/2020 16:35

L’Occitaine Shea butter is just lovely to put on in bed at night before going to sleep.

Itsnotagazebo · 02/11/2020 16:35

Loccitaine (I have the lemonobw in my car and everytime I put it on my children say "oooh lemon meringue pie"

Body Shop Hemp for when my hands need heavy duty care.

Clarins make my nails grow quickly. But not fond of the smell.

CharlottesComplicatedWeb · 02/11/2020 18:47

Aveeno Cream (not the actual hand cream... not as good, strangely) Colloidal Oats.

DrGachet · 02/11/2020 18:51

Another vote for Neutrogena. If you smother dry hands with it and cover with cotton gloves overnight the results are outstanding.

Bert2e · 02/11/2020 18:54

Neutrogena, smell isn't wonderful but it works and doesn't leave your hands "wet".
