I have this - much less dressy than the velvet Toast one obvs - but best boilersuit ever.

faustina · 20/11/2020 22:03

I really love that boilersuit! It's a great shape and a nice shade of blue

@ToastCosILoveIt - do you know, I hadn't realised the price change! I paid the higher price for the small which I'm picking up tomorrow - but I was sort of hoping whichever I decide on will be reduced for Black Friday and I'll be able to do a price match (keeping Laska's wise advice in mind)

It isn't the most flattering from the side, you're right. Glad the jacket works for you though!

NoCureForLove · 20/11/2020 22:19

I'm confused. You like the velvet one or the Finisterre one? Or both...?!
My one is black not blue.

faustina · 21/11/2020 06:16

Sorry NoCure - it was the Finisterre one I was talking about - it looked like a very black blue on my screen!

ToastCosILoveIt · 21/11/2020 11:24

I like that Finnisterre jumpsuit @NoCure, what is the sizing like? It is out of stock at the moment in my size but perhaps it will come in again.

I have a great linen jumpsuit from Toast from about three or four years ago: inkey blue with a shirt collar and cuffs that can be folded up It looks good in the summer with birkenstocks and in the winter with boots and a vest or thin jumper underneath. I think I might wear it today.

NoCureForLove · 21/11/2020 13:12

I love a jumpsuit / boilersuit and have a few. Mine are all very "utility" / workwear. So easy. All the good things about a dress but even better! No coordinating, very simple. Practical. No nonsense. Bizzarely my absolute favourite is an m and s one from a few years ago.

NoCureForLove · 21/11/2020 13:12

Forgot to answer the question! Sizing is generous...but not Toast generous...

ToastCosILoveIt · 21/11/2020 14:12

Thank you

Countmeout · 22/11/2020 18:12

Has anyone’s 15% code not worked? Just tried mine and it says invalid or expired. Have I read it wrong?

BerniceBobsHerHair · 22/11/2020 19:20

Yes mine too Confused
It's solved my conundrum at least and I will wait for the sale. What were you thinking of count? I imagine they would honour it if you called them.
I also went to press the button on a ghost x M&S dress - sold out
I'm waiting to hear the tale of poor toast customer service Grin can't remember who said they would share it.
moomin how was the toast virtual event?

Countmeout · 22/11/2020 19:48

Well I’m not desperate @BerniceBobsHerHair so I’ll wait. I actually was a bit narked to get it as I had just bought the checked culottes and a Francis T last week and had worn both. I was going to get the Francis T in the chalk white (bought the cumin) but I don’t NEED it 😁 very pleased with it though , will wait to see if anything catches my eye in the sale.
My daughter was annoyed to have missed a Ghost dress too.
Yes what was the poor customer service?

BerniceBobsHerHair · 23/11/2020 11:46

Who has the Moroccan stripe dress? @moominmammaatsea? After a review as just looking at one on eBay. Wondering how long it falls? Do you like it if you have it? Is it warm??

SewingBeeAddict · 23/11/2020 11:53

I do. Its gorgeous. Lovely neckline . Mid weight, falls just above midcalf - am tall.
NoCureForLove · 24/11/2020 22:46

My M and S x Ghost dresses arrived and I must say were disappointing and will be going back.
The smocked floral one was just a bit cheap looking - neckline not flattering, elasticated waist in wrong place and a bit frumpy. No cuffs, no pockets.
The black and white tea dress was a nice shape - but the 'puff' sleeves did not match - one side completely different to the other! Also cut (badly) on the bias and looked lumpy and bumpy. Also no pockets.
In summary: BOOOOO.

MaizeBlouse · 25/11/2020 16:56

I think I'm going to put my BF Toast plans on ice for now as I feel like I don't really need anymore clothes.. how long do we think my abstinence will last?

Off topic but I recently ordered some clothes from OffOn and they arrived today. They're made to order, you choose the fabric and style, so it took a month from order to delivery. Anyway I was really happy with the top and dress I ordered. Quite a sturdy linen and made to last it feels. Had the top on with my gabi cords earlier and they really complemented each other.

Newuser991 · 25/11/2020 18:14

Hi

How wearable are these clothes?

I liked toast years ago but looking now I can't see where I'd wear it. Ankle length wide check dresses, etc I couldn't wear that to work and can't figure out where I'd wear much of it.

It does look very good quality though. Where do you find you wear your items and what do you get a lot of wear out of?

applecatchers36 · 25/11/2020 19:26

So would say I wear my toast trousers a lot, have cord and wool Gabi and they are smart enough for work. I wear my cotton jersey t shirt at the weekend and have a wool checked top that I also wear for work. Have a long wrap dress that is more smart casual wear when am looking after the kids but also wear on holiday, meals out etc..
My job is NHS and patient face to face. Think the clothes can be really wearable if you find the right thing...

AmethystMoonShine · 25/11/2020 20:03

I wear a lot of Toast denim day to day, dresses and skirts. Love their tee shirts and knitwear is pretty good. PJs, gowns also worn frequently here.

mizu · 25/11/2020 20:07

I think TOAST does some great wearable pieces and I too wear TOAST denim a lot for work. And their cardigans and jumpers. And their T-shirts!

Some of my TOAST denim dresses - I'm thinking of my Dora one especially- have been worn every winter for years and still look pretty new.

Countmeout · 25/11/2020 20:51

That’s sad about the Ghost dresses @NoCureForLove

I wear my Gabi trousers a lot. The Annie denim culottes have been unexpectedly successful as have the check cotton/cashmere ones.
I love their knitwear and have had a bit of it on every day this week at some point. I got a merino sweater dress in the winter sale last year (popped up from nowhere) and I’ve been in it today as it’s so cold.
I don’t work any more but if I did I could see myself getting more wear out of the dresses I have.

Newuser991 · 25/11/2020 21:16

I cant wear denim to work really: Solicitor.

It's also a lot of money for denim. Maybe the knitwear then

NoCureForLove · 25/11/2020 23:22

I used to be a barrister Smile
I don't think Toast is aiming for corporate / court dress smart. But there are tbings I would have worn to work - tailored wool trousers, silk shirts etc. And lots of denim for weekends! But it's an aesthetic that either appeals or doesn't?

Newuser991 · 25/11/2020 23:33

No of course it isn't!!!

Just wondering where else I'd wear it. I am tempted but I'm sure it used to be smarter than this and more wearable

Craftycorvid · 26/11/2020 23:10

Wearing Toast a lot at the moment, mind - as previously noted - I am probably in the appropriate work role (therapist). I could also be a potter or other artisan sort Grin

Loving my chevron yoke jumper right now. Went a bit bonkers and eBay trawled an orange linen jumpsuit. I do like it but I also realise accessorising it with care will need to happen if I don’t want to channel ‘resident of the american penal system’ vibes.

NoCureForLove · 27/11/2020 12:33

Crafty - me too! Therapist I mean! Maybe I changed careers to wear more Toast.... maybe we know each other. Smile

I'm wearing Toast pleated jeans today and loving them. Non Toast cashmere jumper on top - to look smart in endless Zoom calls...
