@faustina, I forgot to type last night that I really like the Kin sweatshirt dress you posted; I’m curious to know how long it is? I’m nearly 5’9 and gravity is very definitely taking its toll on my knees so I’m tending to favour midi-length dresses and skirts these days - or even maxidi (which apparently is now an actual fashion word).

Would anyone be interested in me posting the info from today’s Toast A Winter’s Table workshop? Apparently, the Furoshiki Table Decorations are very definitely out of stock now.

Moominmammaatsea · 19/11/2020 18:58

Did anyone else order any of the Ghost/Marks & Spencer collaboration dresses? I’ve just had another look and most of them are now out of stock. I wish I’d ordered the red feather print wrap dress so I’m wondering if there will be post-quarantine returns?

faustina · 19/11/2020 19:09

@Moominmammaatsea - it's the same length as the needlecord one I think. I will take a pic tomorrow when light. Comes just above the top of my blundstones (but I'm 5'4 so shorter than you)

I didn't order any of the Ghost dresses but I'd love to see a pic when yours arrive - especially the smocked one.

I think my Christmas will be a virtual one this year - it's looking more and more like the sensible option will mean DS 1 and 2 won't be travelling anywhere. So it'll be a zoom Christmas for us. It's only one year though - hopefully plenty more to come!

mizu · 19/11/2020 19:36

Faustina oh I am tempted now. Love teal / green. What size did you get if you don't mind me asking?

I'm 5ft 7" and 10-12 and thinking of S or even XS.

NoCureForLove · 19/11/2020 19:38

Yes - how big does it come up please? What colour tights will you wear it with?

faustina · 19/11/2020 20:01

I got an XS, and I'm collecting a S on Saturday to compare. I think the XS will be ok though - the sleeves are quite fitted which is a nice contrast to the rest of the dress - they're full length too which will be better for winter. It hangs really beautifully and is surprisingly flattering - also - the lovely fluffy sweatshirt inside - and big pockets! I think I'll be able to get away with long socks - will try tomorrow

NoCureForLove · 19/11/2020 20:08

And what dress size are you Faustina? I'd normally buy a large but fear that might be huge!

faustina · 19/11/2020 21:06

@NoCureForLove - I only have 3 dresses! The Toast pinafore is an 8, then the needlecord is an 8 and this one is XS. I'm an XS for bottoms and a S on top (because 30f). It's extremely roomy everywhere except the sleeves. Hope that helps

NoCureForLove · 19/11/2020 21:07

Thank you. I'm going to try a medium! Smile

ToastCosILoveIt · 19/11/2020 21:26

@Faustina, you are a bad influence on me. I ordered the kin teal dress last night along with the Rie Takeda Panelled Wrap Jacket in a size 14 (it was the only size left and reduced from £100 to £29.50) which I hope isn't too big. i ordered the teal dress in a small. I'll pick them up tomorrow from my local Waitrose. I already have the Kin angled seam jersey dress in black and in grey: I would so recommend them both. I also have the cord Kin dress in navy Blush.

I have a miserable tale about Toast customer services - I'll post later.

faustina · 19/11/2020 21:57

Oh what's the angled seam dress like @ToastCosILoveIt? I've often seen it and wondered
I tried the matching dungarees (to the panelled jacket) on in the summer - that's a real bargain!

Moominmammaatsea · 19/11/2020 22:00

My random Zoya dress arrived (a JL 70 per cent off outlier) and I absolutely love it, having not had my head turned by it in the summer sale. I intend to wear it with my Fracap hiker boots and my Margaret Howell Canton Overalls denim jacket. And maybe a thermal vest underneath now it’s getting rather chilly up north! 😀

mizu · 19/11/2020 22:13

OMG the angled seam dress!!! I want both but can only get one!!

Think it might have to be the teal one, still not sure XS or S........

ToastCosILoveIt · 19/11/2020 22:46

@Faustina and @mizu, the ribbed neck and sleeves of the angled dress really gives it an edge and it drapes beautifully. It looks great with DMs or Blundstones. I got the small and I am a 12: the xs might well have fitted too. Because of the drape, the oversize doesn't matter too much.

ToastCosILoveIt · 19/11/2020 23:40

Has anyone bought or tried on the velvet jumpsuit? So tempted but the price is ridiculous.

NoCureForLove · 20/11/2020 00:38

I tried it in store when it first appeared. It was too "floppy" and unstructured for me and the legs were a bit baggy and short while the top half was mire fitted. Nice colour. Very expensive. Comes up big...

NoCureForLove · 20/11/2020 00:39

I thought afterwards that I could understand the rubbish photo online. That means you can't really see it properly!

MaizeBlouse · 20/11/2020 10:23

Finally had the opportunity to wear my Maeva dress yesterday as I had a job in central. It was quite a windy morning and I definitely flashed a bit too much leg to a random bloke.

I'm also looking forward to the days that my children are a little less sticky fingered so that I can wear my nice clothes more often. Is this around 6 years of age or am I being optimistic?

mizu · 20/11/2020 10:51

Have purchased both Kin dresses in XS. Picking up tomorrow.

NoCureForLove · 20/11/2020 10:55

I bought the last of these late last night. Bargain - considering I thought about buying it at full price months ago.

link fail. Second attempt! Kin dress

BerniceBobsHerHair · 20/11/2020 11:27

Hi toasties, or should I say kin -ies ? (Doesn't have the same ring to it).
Also drumming fingers for the sale. I've been sent a 15% off code but not sure if I should hold out til sale.
Does anyone have the cotton swingy shirt dress? It is one of the main ones on my list but think it will go down in the sale.
Am also after the jessa dungarees which don't tend to reduce. Also the tencel stripe wool tee. any thoughts on my conundrum - wait til sale or spend now??
First world problems I know Blush
nocure I also looked at that dress in the summer, it is really nice. Odd how these random returns keep popping back. I saw the ikat skirt too - shame i bought it on eBay (at inflated prices) as it was my size!

mizu · 20/11/2020 12:13

Nocure lovely dress, love gingham. I'm watching a few TOAST bits on eBay but waiting for sale.

faustina · 20/11/2020 18:56

Love that gingham dress @NoCureForLove - I tried the matching shirt in the summer and really liked it, except it was a bit too long for me

ok here are the photos - apologies for the rubbish light - hope you can see the colour a little bit. It also has slits in the skirt so it might end up being a tights only dress

ToastCosILoveIt · 20/11/2020 21:30

@NoCureForLove, belated thank you for the feedback on the velvet jumpsuit. I think it might be one for the sale.

My Kin teal dress and the wrap jacket have arrived. The wrap jacket is lovely and true to size so although it is a little big, the belt pulls it in and makes it work.

I think I may send the small teal dress back. Although I am a 12, it feels very big. It looks good from the front, from the side I think it makes me look much bigger than i am. I am tempted to return it for the XS but I also see that the price has gone back up.

@faustina, it looks lovely on you. It is a really cosy dress.
