Ha, ha, I bought it in small from Kin but returned it as it was too big (I am bigger than a small...)!

Agree, love this thread (love you @Moominmammaatsea).

My first haul arrived a couple of days ago. I like the Jakob striped shirt a lot - I can see it being worn in the spring through into the summer. I'm not as sure about the Mira striped jumper - I love the colours and the stripes but it feels a bit insubstantial. Now looking at the new stuff and dithering about the needlecord folded collar shirt - I'm quite fat at the moment and it looks as if it would cover all my tubby bits for the next couple of months.

AuldFox · 31/12/2020 08:55

Anyone buying the Toma nightie, be warned that it is huge. The medium swamped me and I’d probably be able to get into the XS, though the small would be nice and airy. I’m keeping it though, as it’s sold out in small and it’s too nice to send back!

lookingatthings · 31/12/2020 09:04

Does anyone have the Coco leaf print wrap dress? I've just ordered it after eyeing up most of the year, but would love to see pictures of it on in the wild :)

AmethystMoonShine · 31/12/2020 10:12

I’ve just received this dress... it’s a great fit and quite Toast like. Bargain at half price too.

AmethystMoonShine · 31/12/2020 10:13

Meant to say, it has pockets and is a fine corduroy.

BerniceBobsHerHair · 31/12/2020 10:42

For Faustina - the anja shirt, it is quite difficult to photograph (excuse the messy bed behind).

Cherries really sad to hear that. Flowers

Amethyst that looks really nice.

lookingatthings that dress looks lovely, I don't have it as not the right colours for me but it is a good price (for Toast).

And while I am posting pics, this is what I am wearing today - a Toast jumper from last AW sale!

@BerniceBobsHerHair - thank you so much for the pic - I really like the little peter pan collar - very kind of you to go to all the trouble of taking it, it's so helpful.

@AmethystMoonShine - that's a nice dress. Seasalt does have a lot in common with Toast - they even sell the same beautiful pottery (Leach?) except cheaper!

AmethystMoonShine · 31/12/2020 11:30

@faustina they do! I always keep an eye on Seasalt, I am not keen on a lot of their thing but occasionally there’s a gem. I have a pair of their wide leg corduroy trousers, very Toast but I paid 50 pounds in last winter’s sale. I’d not noticed the pottery is cheaper!

Moominmammaatsea · 31/12/2020 13:20

@faustina, thanks so much for the Seasalt/Leach tip-off; I’ve just ordered six of the mugs (six for the price of four as it’s currently 3-for-2 on all gifting). I’ve been hygge-ing my home throughout the various lockdowns and I covet the Leach pottery on the Toast website (the nesting bowls will be mine one day!).

I think the Seasalt/Leach mugs will be the perfect drinking vessels to enjoy the yummy hot chocolate created by my elder daughter’s Hotel Chocolat Velvetiser (a 13 birthday gift). We can nestle under the sofa under my Scandi blankets and throws with our Moomins books and pretend we’re in Finland rather than Tier 3!

faustina · 31/12/2020 13:35

@Moominmammaatsea - that sounds like bliss! Yes, I discovered the leach thing when I was thinking of buying those nesting bowls for DS2 for Christmas - they are absolutely beautiful aren't they? I didn't get them in the end as he was worried he might break them (very keen cook but my goodness what a mess he makes!)

Rattanrivers · 31/12/2020 14:39

Room for one more?!

I've stumbled across a gorgeous pair of the Cheaney for Toast Purdey Chelsea boots at the outlet store and am sorely tempted.... Does anybody have these? I love the look of them but am not sure if they are very "clumpy" looking? I want something more utilitarian and substantial than your typical narrow Chelsea boot but I worry that these might be too clumpy or have too much loose material over the top of the foot?

Would love to see photos of how others have styled these. I'm thinking a pair of thick, woollen socks, bare legs and a midi dress.

lookingatthings · 31/12/2020 15:20

@AmethystMoonShine that dress is lovely! What's the fit like? I'm very tempted

AmethystMoonShine · 31/12/2020 15:53

@lookingatthings true to size I’d say. Waist belt is a tie one, so adjustable. It’s gotten to an extent but not closely, it doesn’t pull at all. I’m a pear and it’s good across my hips and I’m a D cup and no pulling across the bust. Also it is lined.

AmethystMoonShine · 31/12/2020 15:54

Fitted no idea where gotten came from!

Freesialime · 31/12/2020 18:10

@Rattanrivers, I bought those boots in black from Toast 3 years ago and I still love them. They are quite substantial but not super-clompy, they go well with everything from Toast. I've done a huge amount of walking in them and they haven't really worn. I was so pleased I bought a lace up pair in brown from Cheaney too.

Moominmammaatsea · 01/01/2021 00:39

@Freesialime, I have a few (too many) pairs of Cheaney boots and I would really recommend them. I walk about eight miles a day and they are robust enough to withstand all weathers. You can also send them back to Cheaney for a full resole/reheel and service as and when needed. I wear my Cheaney boots with all my Toast dresses, dungarees, cropped trousers and denim pinafores.

A word of advice: they are quite a generous fit so I would recommend sizing down if you’re a half size (I tend to wear mine with thick socks like Falke Striggings or with Falke merino tights).

Moominmammaatsea · 01/01/2021 22:50

Okay, probably a silly question, but how ‘brown’ are the Gabi pull-on cords in brown slate? I snaffled a pair in my size in the JL Toast sale last night but I’m not a fan of brown so I’m hoping they’re more slate ie a slightly washed out black?

ToastCosILoveIt · 01/01/2021 23:41

@Moominmammaatsea, mine look completely black.

faustina · 02/01/2021 06:18

@Moominmammaatsea - I returned the pair I ordered because I couldn't see any brown in them at all (I like brown!)

Moominmammaatsea · 02/01/2021 09:44

@ToastCosILoveIt @faustina, thanks for the feedback, much appreciated. I shall look forward to the trousers arriving now!

Moominmammaatsea · 02/01/2021 20:49

I was perusing the Toast site and reading the reviews for the items I like best of all.

Do you think this is a real review or it’s been posted by someone with their tongue firmly in their cheek? It tickled me anyway and it reminded me how far we have come since our initial discussions about how much we conform to or differ from the stereotypes of Toast wearers.

It’s a review for the indigo denim belted dress, by the way (it keeps catching my eye).

@Moominmammaatsea Grin love that review..... giving me inspiration for my next review Wink
