@Templetree, are the side button trousers these ones?
www.toa.st/uk/product/womens+trousers/c4jda/annie+indigo+side+button+jeans.htm?searchref=%2fresults_solr.aspx%3fsrch_keywords%3dside%2520button%26keywords%3dside%2520button%26seoterm%3dside%2520button%26&clr=c4jda_indigo
If they are they’re wonderful, so comfortable, just takes a bit of wriggling to get the buttons in if you’ve a bust getting in the way

Hello!
@MoominMammaAtSea snap - I also bought the cord Anja from JL. I already have 2 check Anjas (Blush) so I know I like the shape.

I also bought an old season blue shirt from the actual Toast sale. Also disappointed, thought more would go in.
The only thing/s I am musing on are
Ono skirt
Ono dress
I love the print on them, the skirt I would get more use out of but I do like the dress. Does anyone have either?
@Laska2Meryls those clothes are lovely. I really like the look of the Clara trousers

Countmeout · 29/12/2020 09:54

I love the Ono print @BerniceBobsHerHair. I have neither as the style of dress is like another I have. I tend always to plump for a dress and pull a sweater on over it so it looks like a skirt. Skirts tend to cut me in two IMO. I think the colour would work well in spring/summer

Templetree · 29/12/2020 10:01

@Countmeout
Yes they are the Annie side button trousers.
Im very happy with them.
Plan to wear with long boots ( ancient Jones) and a lovely cream cotton sweater from Gap.
They are not a loose fit and most of the reviews state they come up small.
Im a standard 12 , with waist and bum and they fit beautifully but if you want a looser fit then size up.

Templetree · 29/12/2020 10:05

@Laska2Meryls
I NC regularly for a reason sadly but have been around for several threads.

Laska2Meryls · 29/12/2020 10:26

But yes Toast sale is just not as good so far, I am sure that Covid has played a part, but perhaps more will be added next week.. They usually do add additional items during the sale

My Toast sale stuff has arrived. Will report back on sizing and verdict later! Off for a walk with a friend now so scant time to try it on Sad.

applecatchers36 · 29/12/2020 14:19

Been laid low with the dreaded virus but still been reading the thread and keeping up and agree sale so far is rubbish. Lots of summer stuff not much of what you might have hoped from autumn and winter stock. Luckily just before Christmas Laska sold me her Japanese shirt and it arrived. Finally out of PJ's and able to wear it, which I am today with my dungarees and my daughter has told me I look like a farmer 😂

Glad to hear you’re up and about @applecatchers36 sorry to hear you’ve had the virus Sad
My Toast sale items arrived today, I’m keeping the Toma nightie, the denim coat dress and the black gathered shoulder tee. The navy and the cream cotton, linen v neck tops are going back. They’re tight over my boobs and too short and the neck lays in an odd way. Shame as they looked really useful in the photos. As someone was saying back up the thread a bit, it’s hard to judge when they’re not on models in the photos.
Hopeful Toast will start a proper sale soon, you know with actual Autumn and Winter stock! I’ll have spent my sale funds soon if they don’t hurry up! Treated myself to some Monica Vinader earrings and a necklace yesterday. Also got a corduroy Seasalt dress on its way.

Saurus72 · 29/12/2020 14:54

Oooh @applecatchers36 that shirt is fab - the chicest farmer I’ve seen 😊.

My chambray shirt dress arrived from JL and I’m really pleased with it. £65, which seems extraordinarily good value to me, the fabric is gorgeous. Now just need to put it away until I can wear it with tan sandals in the summer...

applecatcher It looks much better on you than it did n me ! Glad you liked it .. Sorry you have had the virus , but gladyu are feeling a bit better.

i am definiately keeping the Pumpkin and blue Emma tees that I got from JL as well as the Mira.
My other Toast sale stuff arrived to day : Jamdani scarf ( keeping bought this as bought to replace one that I had paid full price for a couple of weeks previously).

Black gathered T , I think that's going back .. it very thin and |I think not worth £38 (i think the cream one - which I have - was much cheaper in JL summer sale so may be reduced further) - and also going back is the navy wool tencel top, which is also very thin ( and huge compared t the same size of this years ones )

I still have the stripe marl easy sweater on it way (am hoping that is a keeper and the pink checked scarf.

Saurus love the dress .. is that JL's own label ?

faustina · 29/12/2020 15:28

@applecatchers36 - so sorry you've had the horrible virus. You look wonderful in the shirt though - and only farmer-like as in Toast catalogue perching on a hay bale type of farmer (so nothing like a farmer) - your daughter isn't saying that as a ploy because she wants the shirt is she?

@Saurus72 - is that the Toast dress? It looks lovely

@Laska2Meryls - that Mira jumper looks great on you. How thick is it?

I'm thinking what to keep from my toast deliveries because it's all still pretty expensive, even though reduced. I like the wool tencel top in navy very much - not so sure about the rest. Still waiting for a full-price Gansey, and I also just spotted a return of the sale Gansey so have ordered that to compare
Just about to try on my JL Toast sale stuff..

Laska2Meryls · 29/12/2020 15:34

faustina Mira is not very thick, (think JL cashmere) but not see through and very warm ..

What size is your navy wool tencel top? I got the XL as all my others were fitted and Iwanted looser , but it is huge and definitely pretty transparent ..

OP posts:
Saurus72 · 29/12/2020 15:41

@Laska2Meryls and @faustina - thanks, it’s a Toast dress, still full price on their website but bought at 50% off on JL 😎

www.toa.st/uk/product/womens+dresses+and+tunics/c1paj/edith+chambray+shirt+dress.htm

faustina · 29/12/2020 15:46

@Laska2Meryls - is it as thin as that striped blue slightly A-line jumper from the summer sale? Or a bit thicker?

The navy tencel top is a medium and nicely loose on me - I wanted loose because I don't like too fitted. IKt didn't seem too transparent when I tried it this morning but it's so dark here today - I'm going to try them on again - also the striped tees

Just tried on the saffron/slate tee and the lemon striped one from JL and they're both going back. The saffron slate looks quite pretty, but is really short in the body, and the lemon one just plain doesn't suit me.

Laska2Meryls · 29/12/2020 16:13

Its much thicker faustina , but more indoor winter-weight weight than heavy outdoor . It would be fine for wearing in an office or shopping or for pub lunch etc . If you have had any JL cashmere jumpers or cardis, its comparable to those ..

faustina · 29/12/2020 16:34

Thanks @Laska2Meryls!

Countmeout · 29/12/2020 17:41

That Mira jumper is lovely and a very good fit @Laska2Meryls.
@Saurus72 Great dress.
Glad you’re on the mend @applecatchers36.
Hi @Templetree.
My order arrived and I had a quick try on. I’m keeping the nightie. It’s the navy scalloped neck one. You could sit on the patio eating breakfast in it as it’s not see through and has pockets.
The gold cotton twill jacket is as expected, I’ve now 3 of these 🙈 in my defence I wore the other 2 lots last year. I’m thinking it may drop again though so will hold fire taking the labels off. It’s not so much gold as shop coat colour if anyone knows what I mean, utilitarian- I think my father had dungarees in that shade once upon a time.
The Delave linen trousers are also a hit, I sized down and was right I think, they are elastic waisted and very generous - anyone else order these? I think they’ll be perfect with a T-shirt for summer. There’s lots of pockets.
I’ll try to get a picture tomorrow- very dark here too.

Moominmammaatsea · 29/12/2020 19:02

@applecatchers36, poor you, were you very ill with COVID? It’s all looking a bit scary now, isn’t it (and I’m definitely not a panic merchant)? I’m delighted to hear and see that you’re on the mend enough to be interested in clothes and shopping! Smile. Your outfit looks fab, by the way. The farmer comment would be the ultimate compliment from my four-year-old who is obsessed with John Deere tractors!

I wore my Anja shirt today under my new Sophie Lund-style Nordic sweater (the one I bought at full price! 😱) and a pair of very high waisted cropped trousers I bought for £19 in a winter archive sale about eight years ago. They felt too outré at the time but are very right just now and the fabric is stunning (Marling & Evans, Made in England). I was warm as, well, TOAST, in the snow and ice we’ve had here today.

Everyone’s sale goodies look lovely (faustina and Laska). @faustina, was the swingy tshirt you’re returning the boat-neck, A-line style with a heather stripe? If so, how is the sizing as I’m contemplating ordering but there’s no size M? Mind you, the M in the lemon stripe t-shirt is vast!

Moominmammaatsea · 29/12/2020 19:03

So sorry, @Saurus72, I got you mixed up; I love that Edith dress and I’m kicking myself for not ordering it from JL now.

faustina · 29/12/2020 19:07

@Moominmammaatsea - it was this one slate/saffron in a large, and extremely fitted! Not at all a large I'd say.

Moominmammaatsea · 29/12/2020 19:19

@faustina, you’ve saved me from an expensive mistake & an hour queuing to get into the local Post Office to return the top. I’ll hang fire for a medium. Thanks!

applecatchers36 · 29/12/2020 19:59

Hi ladies thanks for all your kind wishes, we feel lucky to seemingly have escaped with a mild version, no worse than a heavy cold 🤞..yes agree it does all seem to be ramping up and this new infectious strain a different beast.
Been pleased to see the bargains people have found, I love the Mira on you Laska and the Chambray on you Saurus.
Thanks also for the thread which has been a great comfort and distraction through isolation as well as fulfilling my shopping cravings 😉
