I did though get a surprise gift ( with actual handwritten card!) From John Lewis this week !

@Laska2Meryls I got one too. I did try and see if it was printed or not but it does seem to be the real deal. Handwritten envelope too.

@faustina, it isn't cotton, it is 82% viscose, 15% polymide and 3% elastine.

ToastcosILoveit I am not too worried about it being viscose.. Anyway its due at my local Waitrose tomorrow pm, so I will report back ( probably on Sunday .).

@Laska2Meryls, I tried it on again (does this thread make anyone else do strange things) and it is weighty and hangs really well, it looks good on. I like the dipped back and the side slits. To me it is a top to be worn with slim trousers or jeans.

Laska I received one a reindeer & card from JL on Monday too! I was very surprised that it was handwritten...Until DH piped up "Not surprised given what you've spent on bed linen & skin care this year" That's lockdown for you. Still, as I pointed out to DH, still very much cheaper than the post-GCSEs Greek Island hopping trip youngest DS & I had planned (& subsequently had to abandon) for this summer.

For those of you with missing items from orders & no refund, it's worth emailing or using their online chat function to check what's actually happening. I'm quite surprised that they didn't automatically email & issue a refund on the OOS item that was missing from my order. I don't think it's good customer service to hang on to payment on the off chance they might get a return without first offering the customer the option to refund immediately.

About a month ago I ordered something full price. After about five days I had had no despatch confirmation so I emailed them. Only then did they say the item was out of stock and they sent a refund. I relied saying how bad I thought their customer service was to have not notified me sooner and I had had to prompt them to refund me.

My long awaited full price order has arrived.

The Fairisle Yoke Sweater in green multi is nice, a much trimmer fit than I had anticipated and not chunky. it will be possible to wear it indoors without overheating. I got the medium and definitely didn't need to size down.

The Zadie Bloom print dress looks huge in a 12. I haven't tried it on yet but i may need to go down to a 10. I already have the Wool Neat Cardigan in lime which will go well with it.

The Cord Brown Slate Jacket in a 12 is huge and shapeless on me, again, should have sized down although I'm not sure I like it enough to order it again. I may look for the 10 in the sale. I already have the Gabi Cords in the 10 and love them.

Finally, the Stripe Cotton Boat Neck Tee in slate and pine green: haven't tried it on but looks like a keeper.

I have now got 2 sale orders, out of the first I’m keeping the Veja trainers. The merino smock sweater is too big( ordered M) the colour is disappointing too - not as deep as picture. I had ordered it in a smaller size in green but i have just got a PayPal refund for it and what I think is the notebook no email from toast yet. I’m disappointed as I would have quite liked the shape. Second parcel had the u neck sweater and it’s a perfect match for my scarf but it’s a bit too short 😕 just looks a bit ordinary too.
How’s everyone else getting on?

My stuff arrived earlier today. Unfortunately the needle cord dress is too tight at the bust - it's lovely otherwise - and I think I'm keeping the cotton and cashmere alix trousers - going to try them again when I get home. Still undecided about the two cord pairs. Did anyone else get them?

As expected the size 12 purple spot silk dress is far too tight across the bodice. Have asked for an exchange in a larger seize but not hopeful at all. The orange velvet dress is gorgeous but the colour is not flattering on me at all so will stick with last year's chartreuse one. Still awaiting three more parcels.

I've just had a PayPal alert that toast gave refunded me for the Solovsir Mary Janes. No communication from toast themselves on this. That's the second thing in the sale they haven't had in stock for me.

My block stripe tshirt came yesterday and today I had two parcels; the navy floral Indian gown in flannel and my long-regretted Boro merino wool scarf in navy. All three are keepers and I’m thrilled with the scarf, in particular, as I have worn the grey version to death. The gown is a no-brainer as I was a convert to the joys of beautiful loungewear long before Lockdown 1.0; we literally strip off our day clothes the minute the front door is locked and change into onesies (the daughters) or Toast kimono gowns (me). And one can never have too many stripy T-shirts in one’s wardrobe, in my opinion!

I’m really looking forward to the Mary Jane shoes arriving. No word on my cord pull-on trousers, Faustina - I’m wondering if I’m going to get an out-of-stock message as it seemed too good to be true when the availability was showing in all sizes.

In today’s charity shop news, after last week’s Air & Grace triumph, I found a pair of Olivia Morris for Grenson black leather lace-up derbies (hand made and leather soles) in immaculate condition and still in the box for £15. Very chuffed and I think they will look good with my M&SXGhost black star print dress for Christmas Day. They more than make up for the disappointment of not being singled out as a special customer by JL!

@Moominmammaatsea - that sounds like a very good charity shop. What a bargain!
Just had a disappointing online chat with toast about my olive t-shirt which had 'stock issues' and so is on back order but they don't know if or when they will get anymore

My navy wool/linen mix wrap skirt arrived today and I’m so pleased with it. It doesn’t look like much at all in the picture but the fabric quality is just outstanding and I just know I’ll get a ton of use out of it for wfh and also working in the office whenever we go back. Not cheap at £98 (50% off) but worth it. (The green cashmere jumper I’m wearing it with was a huge JL bargain from the summer £25 and amazingly warm and soft. I’ve also got an oatmeal one from the same sale, they’re being worn on rotation.)

Got my first parcel today, Indian print gown- I’m wearing now , navy fairisle sweater is gorgeous, navy Kisawa nightie I knew I’d keep as I have the orange one and wore it loads with it’s matching gown over summer, then lastly the navy cotton Dhuggie in S was just about okay on my hips but perfect fit otherwise.. all keepers

Anyone else on the Toast Christmas Italian biscuits online workshop tomorrow morning? I can’t wait! But I may be a little late as I have to take the four-year-old to her first swimming lesson since before Lockdown 2.0. She can’t quite believe that she is going to an actual pool and is convinced that she will be doing Zoom swimming (like she does Zoom ballet every Saturday morning) and so has earmarked the best swimming pool-shaped rug in the house for her ‘lesson’. I am bursting to see her delight when she gets to jump into an actual - rather than virtual- swimming pool.

Picked up the JL Kin Funnel neck top from Waitrose yesterday.. I just love it with the Ikat trousers .....

Moomin fab charity shops near you !! I have loads of really nice winter office-y type things to donate or ebay ,( now I am no longer working ) but because so many people are wfh I am not sure if anyone will want them atm
..

Finally managed to grab a moment to online chat with TOAST and my order made on Monday (my felt slippers) was cancelled due to lack of stock. No email to let me know that. Check my junk mail they said, yes! I check that every day and nothing.

@Mizu same for me, no notification that they couldn’t fulfil my order. Only refunded when I used the chat

@AmethystMoonShine and @mizu, that's terrible, same with me and the Mary Janes, although they did send me a grovelling email that the ginger cord dress wasn't available and refunded fairly quickly. When I've got the time and the energy I'll email about the poor customer service.

A grovelling email should be the minimum offered! All I got in live chat was the opportunity to have the order cancelled instead of left for 'when/if' there was a restock of the item. I don't think they even said sorry - just 'stock issues'
