@BerniceBobsHerHair, hi, long time no see! Yes, the M&SXGhost dresses came - and went back and came again in different sizes and different permutations. I originally ordered the dresses in a size 10, thinking they would be generous M&S oversizing - but no, they were skimpy, fashion sizing. Or maybe I’m just too used to comfy Toast sizing now as I love to have room to move without feeling restricted in my clothes: I like to wear them rather than they wear me.
Anyway, I wasn’t very impressed by the smocked frock - no pockets (I am visualising faustina and saurus tutting and rolling their eyes here.) Honestly, Toast spoil us with pockets in our clothing, ladies, it being 2020 and all that!
I was very taken by the black star print midi dress but again it fitted where it touched (and, unless sorcery has been unleashed upon my bathroom scales, I apparently weigh no more at the end of Lockdown 2.0 than I did before the start of the corona crisis). I have stalked the M&S website on and off for the past week and managed to order the dress in a size 12, it came today, I love it and it will be my Christmas Day dress. Happy ending! Even better, I queued up for ages to get into the local charity shops today (my one day off from work) and couldn’t believe my eyes when I spotted a pair of brand-new Air&Grace metallic Cru trainers (rrp £175) for £6. Not normally my thing and I’d normally go for a more understated look at Christmas, but after the year we’ve had, I think I may even be wearing tinsel as a scarf and enormous gaudy baubles as earrings. I intend to be rocking every last bit of Christmas bling this year!
