My boobs are in the right place!

I know there has been loads of threads on this, but I wanted to share my joy. The dogs don't quite get the level of excitement...!

I 'Boob or Busted' this weekend, and shot from a 36E to a 34HH (quite the shock, but post pregnancy so maybe not that surprising).

I was sceptical, but went with it and ordered a Freya Daisy Lace bra. It arrived today, perfect fit. Boobs are actually where they should be - I nearly took the postman's eye out. Poor bugger.

Total convert. Totally comfortable. Amazing.

(Sorry, just wanted to share my excitement!)

What is this sorcery???

TikTakTikTak · 20/10/2020 10:29

Well done, I need to do this as I keep forgetting. Did someone measure you or did you do yourself?

longcoffee · 20/10/2020 10:38

@TikTakTikTak I did it myself, I got fed up with sports bras and the tape measure glared at me from the tea towel drawer so I (perhaps unwisely) grabbed it and stomped off to the downstairs loo - incidentally, wouldn't recommend the smallest room in the house considering the bending involved. Nearly had a tap/head incident.

@AfterSchoolWorry here you go! https://booborbust.com/#bobinfoo_tab

I did boob or bust last night and it says I’m a 30F, I’m currently wearing a 32DD (from previous measurement in Marks and Sparks, but it definitely doesn’t fit well)!! I definitely don’t have even a handful so I don’t know what to think!

WettnWild · 20/10/2020 19:12

@LilyLolo81 I have small boobs and am a 28F. You see F and think it means massive cups but it doesn’t. The cups are in size relation to the back size.

nancybotwinbloom · 20/10/2020 19:14

How do you do it?

I've not been measured since I had implants and I usually just guess Blush

TableNiner · 20/10/2020 19:19

@lilylolo81 32DD to 30F is a classic change in the sense that many fitters seem to measure the back too large and the cups too small, adjusting one affects the other of course

TableNiner · 20/10/2020 19:20

It's totally right that you recline in disbelief if told to wear a larger cup size but a smaller back and larger cup doesn't have to mean a massive bra. Its usually far better to have a bigger cup to avoid spillage and a tighter back to give more support.

MarmaladeTeepee · 20/10/2020 19:31

I've come out as a 34K Shock currently wearing 36G. Off to investigate if I can get anything vaguely attractive in this size...

Roominmyhouse · 20/10/2020 19:35

I went from a 36DD/E to a 34G with this method and my bras definitely fit better than before.

Jozen · 20/10/2020 20:33

I've come out a 32DD using this method currently wearing a 34D.
I'm due some new bras so I'll try a 32DD.

Whereland · 20/10/2020 21:15

I tried this and it was disastrous. I measured as a 30GG- what a joke!! It would barely fit around my 3 year olds chest 😂 and yes I measured correctly

LilyLolo81 · 20/10/2020 21:15

I’m definitely going to order some 30F’s and see how I get on. Before my current bras I wore 32C for years!

MountainDweller · 20/10/2020 23:18

@MarmaladeTeepee try Brastop online.

I did this years ago and went up 3 cup sizes and sometimes down a back size (I am fat and cannot bear the under band too tight).

I got lazy in lockdown and wore a lot of old soft cup bras at home. When I put on the underwired ones I get the same feeling of surprise that my boobs are in the right place! Am afraid I might knock my eye out!

TikTakTikTak · 22/10/2020 13:22

Oh my goodness! From a 38DD to... a 32JJ

Shock
JemimaTiggywinkle · 22/10/2020 13:38

The best tip for bra fitting I ever got is:

If the band rides up at the back, the back size is too big.. it should stay level all the way round, all day.
And, if you can easily fit a finger under the band at the front middle bit between the cups, the back size is too big.

You’ll know if the back size is too small because you can’t breathe, and you’ll know if the cup size is too small because of the overspill... so too big back size seems to be the most common mistake.

EggysMom · 22/10/2020 13:42

*puts fingers under the band at the front
*wiggles fingers

Maybe it's time I bought myself some new bras! I think they've all gone saggy, rather than needing a size change (I bob'd last time)

JemimaTiggywinkle · 22/10/2020 13:49

Also, new bras should fit you on the loosest setting, so you can use the tighter settings once they stretch a bit.

StatisticallyChallenged · 22/10/2020 14:35

I tried this and it was disastrous. I measured as a 30GG- what a joke!! It would barely fit around my 3 year olds chest 😂 and yes I measured correctly

Sounds like a dodgy bra - I'm between a 30 and 32 band depending on the bra, and I'm about a size 16 so a crapload bigger than a 3 year old.

Whereland · 22/10/2020 19:04

@StatisticallyChallenged really? It was a marks bra, honestly I knew by looking at it there was no way it would close on me. I was probably exaggerating a bit when I said it wouldn't close on my 3 year old 😂
I'm a size 12 and have always worn at 34 band, it's hard to imagine how something 4 inches shorter would fit around me!

StatisticallyChallenged · 22/10/2020 19:06

M&S do tend to run snug in the band

Try putting one of your 34s on, but back to front so the cups are at the back. Now pull the band away from your body. How fatmr away does it come?

StatisticallyChallenged · 22/10/2020 19:07

@Whereland how far does it come, even!

imarocketman50 · 22/10/2020 19:09

I've lost a lot of weight and boob or bust put me at 44FF (I was 48H).

Went and got fitted (all done by eye) at a local shop and came out at 40G and bought some beautiful Elomi bras and they are amazing. Perfect fit, boobs look smaller, are higher up and my clothes look better.

stayorgo1 · 22/10/2020 19:11

Place mark as I need some new bras

KatharinaRosalie · 22/10/2020 21:40

I'm a size 10-12 and wear 30 bras comfortably, this is not a teeny tiny back size.
