I picked one up in next today - grey in colour .
I’m not sure if it looks like a dressing gown though!
Or are they just for grannies ?

I'm waiting to see what your replies are! I have one and I love it. I think it looks great with jeans and ankle boots, and suits any age, but maybe I'm deluding myself and am committing a fashion faux pas! It won't stop me wearing it though Smile

StCharlotte · 06/10/2020 23:06

I've got a hooded one from Sainsbury's. It's my new best friend!

Fidgety31 · 06/10/2020 23:08

It’s good to here that I’m not the only one attached to the style then ! Never had one before .
I’m 44 and don’t particularly follow fashion as such but wasn’t sure about the coatigan !

Love them. Great for in the car. An easy way to smarten up to pop to the shops. Comes in handy to wear when the boiler breaks down.

plipplopwillywillyplopplop · 06/10/2020 23:12

I brought one last year and people compliment me on it all the time! I didn't give it much thought before buying but it's been really versatile and goes with loads of things.

LadyIronDragon · 06/10/2020 23:15

I have 3! I absolutely love them. Smarter than a casual/puffy jacket, not as hot/heavy as a winter coat, easy and light to chuck on and off with the changeable weather. I have 2 grey (one hooded one without) and a navy. The next one I get will be camel coloured but I am going to restrict myself to 4 Grin

Also I'm only mid-30s so I'm hoping they're not frumpy...

Autumn/Spring I constantly wear leggings/skinny trousers, top (loose smart tshirt or light knit jumper), boots and coatigan and find it is suitable for almost any occasion.

NeverTwerkNaked · 06/10/2020 23:17

I live in them. I feel the cold really easily so they are perfect for me.

fruitbaseddrinkforalady · 06/10/2020 23:26

Links please??

Molly499 · 06/10/2020 23:33

My colleague has a next one in grey and I always think how nice it looks on her

PyongyangKipperbang · 07/10/2020 00:09

Nice for wearing at home, nipping to the shop, school run etc. But I wouldnt wear it anywhere else as I have to admit that they are a bit "dressing gowny" for me!

FauxAmis · 07/10/2020 03:07

I think it depends on the coatigan, what you look like and what you wear them with. Do you have a link for your next coatigan, op?

Ilovesausages · 07/10/2020 03:44

I have two and love them!!!

LaBellina · 07/10/2020 03:48

I had never seen them before but they look great! Also a good solution for those autumn / early spring days when its too hot to wear a jumper or cardigan under a winter coat or jacket.

Esmeralda1988 · 07/10/2020 03:49

I have two, love them for between seasons. Boden do a nice thick one, Claudia coatigan

LaBellina · 07/10/2020 03:52

Ohh the Claudia Coatigan in red 😍😍😍😍

ZaraW · 07/10/2020 05:34

I've had one from APC for nearly 20 years and still wear it.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 07/10/2020 05:39

I have a couple. One is really smart, one makes me look like a student. They both have their time and place

AuntieMarys · 07/10/2020 05:41

I have the Next one in ochre. Really useful

Purplecatshopaholic · 07/10/2020 05:43

I have never liked them, a bit frumpy I thought, but after the positive affirmations on this thread, maybe I should revisit the style

GinWithRosie · 07/10/2020 05:48

I have two...love them 🤷‍♀️ I don't actually care what anyone else thinks to be honest 😂

LadyB49 · 07/10/2020 05:49

I have 3 of varying weights and love them. They smarten up whatever I wear, pull an outfit together. Wouldn't be without them.

SquirrelFan · 07/10/2020 06:10

As a pear shape, no. They are not flattering! But they look cozy...

ToastyFingers · 07/10/2020 08:10

I'm 29, love mine and get loads of compliments.

StCharlotte · 07/10/2020 08:15

@StCharlotte

I've got a hooded one from Sainsbury's. It's my new best friend!
Having said that, I haven't worn it outside. It's part of my collection of winter "loungewear" but it could also be because It's barely stopped raining since I bought it Grin
