Best time of the beauty year.

Just had an email from Look Fantastic, to say that they are working to dispatch my order asap. That was after one a week or so ago, saying they were protecting their staff from Covid.

Me too. Are you in Ireland or UK, not that there seems to be any logic or pattern?

I got all excited when I saw the email arrive. But it just said:

We are aware that your order * for the below items have still not been sent, we will continue to work to have your order dispatched as soon as possible.

You can check the status yourself by clicking on order history in your account.

Checking the status doesn't help.....

I'm waiting for the Look Fantastic one. Being honest I really don't mind it not arriving for a few weeks yet. I am getting slightly annoyed with the regular contradictory emails though. Today's is an apology that it hasn't been sent yet.

I wouldn't mind either if there seemed to be some logic to it. The contradictory emails and the fact they're not distributing by geography or date of order makes it seem they don't know what they are doing.

I’m in the EU (but not Ireland) and am getting similar emails from Look Fantastic. They’re clearly overwhelmed. Their ACs have always arrive without any delay in last years though, I guess Covid has scuppered their routine.

My Look Fantastic arrived by An Post this morning.
And now to put it away until December

Yesterday said PROCESSING with a yellow bar

Today says "ORDER PLACED" with a blue bar which seems to have moved backwards

So whoever said yesterday it had moved back, I think you were right!

So sad guys, I only found out this week that M and S are not doing the Beauty advent calendar - this was my treat to teen DD and myself every year and if ever there was a year that we needed it, it was this year. Can anyone recommend an alternative in a similar price range (ie under €100) with similar types of items? I loved the selection in the M and S one and the mix of skin, hair and make up items.

@Annasgirl There are quite a few and the question has been asked before if you scroll up to read some more of the thread. I went for Holland & Barrett snd Lookfantastic this year.

Another Lookfantastic email for me too, apologies that I haven’t received my advent calendar yet. Checked my status this morning and it was processing, then checked after I’d received the email, it had gone back to order placed
I’m in the UK and ordered on the 26th September

next were similar but now sold out. Elle is worth a look but you should google discount links to get it under or for 100gbp

I’ve also had an email today from LF telling me there’s a delay in despatching the calendar. I ordered it when it was on pre-order. Disappointing!

I've just got an email from Space NK that they have nearly sold out of their Advent Calendar. So if anyone wants one don't dither!

Annasgirl I saw the No. 7 one online recently and thought it looked good for a teen. Not sure if there is any hair care in there though.

Elle is nice, partially worth waiting for Black Friday now and see what is good value. As an aside for those who had the Stila mat red lip - think this was last year’s m&s - I wore it today and it did not budge with mask!! New favourite and I have bought another. Lip gloss is clearly not going to work and I think I would have bought Elle if it wasn’t for the gloss....

I'm thinking we already need a swap thread!

I love Stila, but don't wear red lip colours - fortunately was able to swap it last year with someone who did, who'd had one of the paler shades. Win win! The swap threads really are handy.

I also ordered LF and had one apology email a short while ago, but nothing today when I checked this morning. I'm fine with waiting, I will be putting it away out of sight till 1st Dec anyway, as long as they actually fulfill the order!

I have sat on my hands so far and my plan is, as I have one advent and one Jadvent, to not buy any more until they start coming up on Black Friday deals or similar. So I'm scanning here for any special early offers that might tempt me, but otherwise I'm resisting...

Exactly. I'm fine with waiting and others have said the same but I'm worried they might cancel the order and then they're sold out!
