Private collection is Sotd. Its bright blue sky and sunny here, so I wanted something fresh & zingy. Apart from that I've been wearing Rose perfumes, plus LOccitane's Lavender all week.

I returned my Winter @Pears. I was a bit ambivalent about it, but some days I really enjoyed it, after the horrible Patchouli mellowed down.

My house & kitchen is a tip due to the constant eating/cooking. Dd2 is withdrawn & very sad at the moment. Its tricky, especially as she has exams currently. Its hard.

My Bowmakers has arrived; it's making me happy. And the packaging is lovely too; I might keep it in its box. None of the samples did much for me though.
In other news, I went to Halfords for a car light bulb - it's the most exciting thing I've done in ages! I even put on lippy (slightly wasted under the mask).

SOTD une filled de Berlin on one wrist and une tonne de roses on the other. The latter is winning. I don’t think I like the geranium in the fille de Berlin.

I am still annoyed that my bottle of Arden’s True Love in my Christmas stocking bears no resemblance to the original. It’s like weak floral water. Gone is the deep powdery dry down I loved. Was a Sophia Grossman (?) creation I believe. I should have listened to Miss Battleaxe and blind bought Lalique Satine instead. I have given up on powder for now and am wearing summer scents every day. Dior escale a portofino today. Shop assistant I bought it from in summer thought would be longer lasting than my favourite Dior Homme Cologne but it really isn’t.

Yes, it is a SH creation.
Valentino poudree is the best powdery scent I've come across.
Its divine.
Hard to get now though adit was a limited edition

With all the snow around today I wish I still had my sample of 4160 Tuesdays doe in the snow ❄

Thanks Shrillharridan. I tried Valentino poudre ages ago but it wasn’t ‘the one’. I think I need a combination of base notes of vetiver, patchouli and sandalwood and I see Lalique satine has all three... unfortunately other fragrances I’ve tried with these notes often have the same play doh plasticky peachy opening note that l’interdit has which I cant bear. The search continues..
MissBattleaxe you mention L’air du temps. I bought this at Christmas for an old aunty and pinched a sniff (with her permission) prior to posting. Really lovely ... reminded me powerfully of ‘Fidgi’ from my youth - am I wrong?

Home fragrance to me is almost as important as what I wear, I love wax melts, candles, reed diffusers and swing from burning snow fairy sweet scents to patchouli

Candle is Luna candles Auriga which goes with the nenuco perfectly!

Sotd is Pure Distance White. Warming, orangey and wintry - definitely one for cold weather.
Dd2 still very down. The phrase ' you're only as happy as your least happy child' is so apt. With 4 kids there's always someone who's unhappy ☹️. I'm using lots of L'occitane's Lavender Stress relief oil. I use it as perfume at night and spray my pillow with This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray. It definitely seems to help.

Ds1 (y13) is very stressed about his next assessments next week.
Ds2 (y7) seems ok but the work he's doing is SO dry. No live lessons. He rather enjoys being in his pjs all day 😁
I'm getting less motivated by the day.
