I have been taking advantage of Les Senteurs’ final fling sampling service. It finishes on 2nd November until 2021 and there is free postage until this Monday 26th October. I have been wearing today Serge Lutens De Profundis. It has a realistic chrysanthemum note with violet, green and earthy notes. Unusually I can smell all of the notes listed. It smells as though you have cut and arranged a large bunch of chrysanthemums taken straight from damp earth. The greenness is not straightforward galbanum, more like wet flower shop foliage and the not-too-patchouli-like earthiness undercuts it all. I get unexpected wafts of violet. It is totally beautiful. However, a full bottle costs £260, so it will have to stay in my dreams!

Aldi reed diffuser ( no1?)smells of weed, but not grass, dope resin. gorgoues smell.

Sotd is Nudas Veritas by Atelier des ors. It's not projecting so well today as it's chilly here.I've literally done nothing today, apart from e baying some things and getting some winter clothes down.
I have that Aldi diffuser too and I just get the Jo Malone lime & basil smell. I wish I could detect weed 🌬️ Would be a little more exciting ☺️

Okay I'm having another try of BTF before I get evicted from the thread! It's not that I dislike it, it's just that I'm not sure I want to smell like it. A bit like sniffing old books or leather. They're lovely to smell, but you might not want to smell like that.

I think my Feuilles de Tabac is off. Has anyone else got it? Could you describe it for me?

Teta my downstaris loo reeks like a student bedroom.

Ruth Mastenbroek's Firedance is another one that reminds me of a student bedroom. I don't get rose from it at all, just masses of patchouli. I find it very evocative of an earlier time in my life! Again, I really like sniffing it, but I don't want to go round smelling like it.

@teta if you like Weed perfume, have you tried 4160 Tuesdays Rhubarb and Citrus? My husband asked me if I'd been smoking weed. Yes, I said, in the 90s.

I’ve just had a bath because I was freezing and have sprayed on Marina Barcenilla Patchouli Clouds - very warming & resinous with a nostril blasting Patchouli opening which I just love. Wore & finished my bottle ofJo Malone Nutmeg n Ginger today which I’m a little sad about. I think I will have to buy some more.

Poor you, benji. I really knackered my back with working at the kitchen table on a picnic bench - I had to get a chair shipped in from work.

It’s a little better thanks. 2 days of rest with a hot water bottle has helped. Turning over in bed without groaning is a challenge though. Nutmeg and ginger sounds nice. Wonder if Jenny Glow do a version?

I'm glad you're feeling a bit better @Benjispruce2. No, sadly there's no Jenny glow copy of the nutmeg and ginger. It was discontinued a while ago but the 100 MLS bottle has been brought back as a limited edition. It's too big for me as it took 3 years for me to get through the 30 ml version. I wish I knew someone who would split the bottle with me.

@teta Marina is bringing back her perfumes! Hooray! She took a couple of years out to do her PHD and is bringing back some space themed scents and her flagship bestsellers. I can also tell you that she is one of the nicest people you'll ever met.

Has anyone tried Bubble Bath by MMM? I absolutely loved it. It does what it says on the tin. You can get smaples from the Feel unique Pick n Mix thing.

The only mmm I like is by the fireplace and I ADORE it.
No keen on any others I've tried.
Was very disappointed with whispers in the library 😕 smelt like hairspray to me!
Under the lemon trees is nice but nothing special.
I'm not a fan of soapy/clean/febreeze type scents really so don't think bubble bath would be for me.

What does that actually mean, french - are you right back to March? We find out which tier we are tomorrow. I expect to stay where we are, no indoor household mixing, limited hospitality. This was sold as a 16 day “reset”, but I can’t see things changing this side of the year.

missbattleaxe I like quite a few of the MMM scents. I have full bottles of Jazz Club, Lazy Sunday Morning, and By the Fireplace, and would buy Beach Walk if I didn’t have TF Soleil Blanc. There were others in the sampler pack that I really liked too, but I found the more floral ones a bit insipid.

Oh, just read my post back - the 16 day reset was up a week ago, then extended. The new restrictions come in on Monday.
