Thread for discussing the contents of the lovely Holland & Barrett 2020 advent calendar.

Please - no spoilers! Can we agree not to give away what's behind each door before that day?

See you all on 1st December!

Actually if anyone would like my vouchers they’re very welcome to them. I got so much stuff in Advent calendars I won’t be buying anything till the summer!

I'm not sure if anyone is still reading this thread but I have been a bit late with my calendar as I planned to open it for jadvent but I only realised this week that I had forgotten about it

I opened it all over a few days and I'm really pleasantly surprised with how good it is

I love the ethique bars. I think I'm going to order them and I also love that we got a shampoo and a conditioner in one door. The face bar is a really good size.

The bath milk smells gorgeous but not sure I should use it while pregnant.

DH claimed the reusable cotton bud straight away.

I don't mind the wooden mirror but the head band is a bit dull though I will use it.

Overall happy with it 😊

Hi Alice I'm here Smile and funnily enough have just had a nice hour catching up on the thread and reviews as I had to drop off in December. What a great late surprise for you remembering your calendar!

It's been great reading everyones thoughts on the various products - thanks all for posting. I dont like to try too many new face things at once (sensitive skin) so I'm a bit behind but liked the shower gel and toothpaste and have today started the Sukin day cream and will try the bath milk tonight.

I didn't like the bodyscrub at all and a bit wary to try the facemask after the reviews (I emailed H&B about that, got short shrift from them saying the reviews aren't reflective of the thousands they sell each year...)

The headband - I've used every day since opening it! Years since I've had one and can't believe something so cheap and simple is so useful, I'd just gotten into the habit of making a towel turban and this is much better. I'm clearly easily pleased. Grin

So still lots to try for me but overall happy and will definitley buy again.

I feel guilty now, seeing how much the coffee scrub costs. I tried it and the smell was far too strong for me, and felt too harsh for my face so I binned it. Blush

If it hadn't smelled so strong, I might have used it as a foot scrub!

Rainydays200 · 17/01/2021 15:33

I kind of like the coffee scrub, but found it very messy and would not rebuy because of that

HuggedTheRedwoods · 17/01/2021 15:44

I'd forgotten the coffee scrub was meant to be a face one, but I'd tested on legs first and just didnt like the oily residue it left behind.

AliceinBunniland · 17/01/2021 15:50

Yes it was nice to remember it actually!

I won't use everything at once either. For the most part, I will finish the day cream, night cream etc that I am using and then open a new one. I also got the LF calendar in December so I have quite a lot to get through now.

I'm put off trying the face mask too but I did need a face scrub!

Am still slowly using the products. Love the Turmeric shower gel, like the coffee scrub but as a body scrub, seems quite abrasive to use on the face. Also really liked the solid shampoo and conditioner and hair mask. Haven't used the moisturizer or the face mousse yet but keen to try these once regular one is used up. Was a great calender and would definitely buy again next year.

Gotthetshirt23 · 17/01/2021 16:31

I've used far more of these than the M&S which is my last two calendars !
Used all the Sukin which was lovely , now on the Dr O , it's good so far .
Like the shampoo and conditioner bars and would possibly re buy .
Like the toothpaste able kindly got donated another and the serum . I do donate to a local foodbank and do advent gifts for friends.
Also like the headband , very useful.

I've not tried the coffee scrub yet or the mousse . I need to read up on those and the pretty toner.

A big thumbs up from me .

lotusbell · 17/01/2021 17:39

I have used the coffee scrubfrom a sample before the full size in the tube. Didn't enjoy the thick waxy coating it left after rinsing -although this disappeared once my skin was dry i don't like the feeling at all. It's very scrubby which I love but I used this as a body scrub. Its very messy so best used in the shower, imho!

olivo · 17/01/2021 17:56

Having just read the rest of the thread , I've opened up my shower bomb, and it was a crumbled mess, no tin, now all over the bedroom floor 😡. Lucky I did it now though, as I had put a couple in my h and b basket, thinking they were a good idea!
