Shiny new plus size fashion / what are you wearing today thread - Autumn Winter edition

Hello!

Following on from the previous, lovely thread, which saw me through Spring / Summer.

For sharing plus size fashion / outfits and general shopping chat.

Old faces and new, all very welcome .

I couldn’t stretch to a personal shop - not sure I would even if I could tbh, but I did really want to know my true body shape and season, for some reason I couldn’t figure it out for myself!

Im pretty sure im a 'winter' in terms of colours, i look best in cool clear colours and black. I look horrendous in brown, any shade of yellow and orangey type colours. Im a pear almost but not quite an hour glass, i think last time i measured there was a bout an inch and a half in so i call myself a pear most of the time as im not 100% true hourglass with that little bit of difference. I am very very pale and i just last night dyed my hair a really really dark purple. I dyed it red for almost 13 years but naturally im a dark brown with natural red highlights. I dont tan, i remain pale and interesting throughout the year onyl catchign the vaguest hint of colour int he very hottest of weather!!

I'm glad I didn't do the personal shop in the end tbh. What I really needed was a total wardrobe clear out and reorganize! I'm sort of doing that myself now, but I do get into the bad habit of buying things which aren't really my colour and don't go with the rest of my wardrobe. I think I'm a warm spring and as such, shouldn't really be wearing black or cool tones and yet I end up buying them! Oh well. It's making me question the red dress, but I will try it on tonight with some tops underneath and see.

Cream balloon sleeved jumper
Black leather Ugg trainers.

Quite warm today but sat outside in a tea room garden most of the afternoon so needed a jumper.

Love that @Mooey89! Lovely, autumn colours.

i wish i could wear mustard, i love the fashions that have been about the last few years in that colour but it truly looks horrendous on me, i just cant make any shade of yellow work on me at all and ive tried them all at some stage. Same as brown and things like khaki, they make me look like i just got dug up after a hundred years

That's really nice @Mooey89, I have discovered I look nice in mustard, and have been trying to incorporate it into my wardrobe but its quite bright compared to my usual pallet.

I've been following the styled by susie drama as I had recently joined her facebook group before this all kicked off. I really want to 'get my colours done' as despite wanting to be a full on goth all my life I look terrible in all black, I've always had to mix it up with reds, purples, teal etc which does still work and I do think I've found my style but reading about the colour theory stuff finally made it click why I was such a shit goth (apart from the fact I'm brown which doesn't help tbh!). I think I'm a deep autumn as khaki green, wine red, really deep plum and mustard look really good on me.

Have you joined the group that was set up as the SBS one shut? It’s mainly old SBS group members and a really great community! Lots of professionals on there too who give great advice RE colours and shape!

Yes I'm on the new group and have been finding it useful. Love wide leg trousers, I get a lot of my workwear from M&S actually since Next started going a bit down hill 5 years ago.

Oh no, my friend has just said there is now an issue with L&Y? Apparently they were racist and / or sizist?? How disappointing if true.

@greyinganddecaying Lucy and Yak, they make sustainable dungarees etc.

If any of you L&Y fans are not already, the 'Scandily clad ladies' facebook selling group often has people reselling them in excellent or even unworn condition. TBH its one of the reasons I've not tried them as they do seem to change hands a lot and I'm not sure why :p
