Hello!

Following on from the previous, lovely thread, which saw me through Spring / Summer.

For sharing plus size fashion / outfits and general shopping chat.

Old faces and new, all very welcome Smile.

I'm quite taken by this one tbh. www.emp.co.uk/p/coat-with-fleece-lining/459755.html its quite bright for me but looks cozy. Keeping my eye out for a good discount code.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 19/11/2020 10:41

Today I have my green Mint Velvet trousers sz 16 with a warehouse sweater also size 16. The sweater was from my last stitch fix box. I just wanted to thank the two people who used my code!

A black t shirt with a perfume bottle and a pair of indigo jeans (I think Primark??). The t shirt is new. Ordered a few things from Simply Be. All pretty reasonable.

For anyone looking for coats, I have a one from the Kimberley Walsh range at Regatta and I've found it to be nice and warm without adding too much more bulk! I'd have liked a belted version too, will keep looking; they have more discounts at the moment and I'm tempted by this one.

I had a job interview last week which I had precisely zero smart clothes and shoes for - it was all a bit last minute and I haven't had an interview for years! - luckily it was Sainsburys to the rescue Grin it's made me realise that I must do something about getting a decent bra though. I've been in soft sports ones since the DC were born as underwired ones just became too uncomfortable/ high maintenance! Would M&S or Freya be my best bet for something in a 36G/H?!

I got some really good tips and info from the first thread but this one lost momentum. What a shame

DelphiniumBlue · 17/12/2020 21:05

I think the problem is that I feel no-one is seeing what I wear other than the children I teach, and my immediate family, who don't really care!
Today I'm in black joggers ( Next?) and a rather nice hooded longish jumper in charcoal grey, and old short black Uggs.
I've been trying very hard to get thicker joggers, and maybe something a bit smarter than leggings but not jeans, and am failing miserably.
John Lewis/Hermes have lost my order twice and are now out of stock, Saint & Sofia out of stock, M& S nothing I like.

Myshitisreal · 06/01/2021 01:30

Hi is anyone still here???

I've just spent £45 quid on snag tights tonight ffs. I've bought so many pairs over the past few months and they are just too short and don't go past my knees. Mum has bought me some in size E but they seem highly out of stock on the thick ones I want so I've had to size up to F. I've got a mixture of E and F coming.

Hope everyone is well and taking care.

Is there a new thread I've missed or have we all gone quiet?

AudreyAubergine · 06/01/2021 09:13

Hi all!

I was on here ages ago, but left mumsnet for a much needed detox! I'm back with a vengeance and was looking for this thread, after someone mentioned it on another S&B thread.

Anyway, I'm in kind of boring outfit today. Will post a pic in a bit.

I'm a size 16-18, tallish apple shape.

IslaMann · 06/01/2021 12:45

No photo of me wearing them I'm afraid but ... I HAVE FOUND THE PERFECT JEANS!

Fern slim boyfriend from Simply Be.

They fit me perfectly. I ordered 2 more pairs after I discovered them.

Photo from their website

Oooooh @islamann the holy grail ! I sadly don't suit boyfriend jeans. Although, if they're slim fit, are they more like girlfriend jeans?

I really want some straight leg jeans, but I'm on a mission to refine my wardrobe and have only perfect items in there, so I'm actually holding off till I can go in person and try things on...ok I might be waiting a while if I do that. I can make do though, I think.

I'm not posting a photo today after all, as I've acquired bits of fluff on my top throughout the day and also, it isn't my best effort, as I wasn't expecting to post today Blush.

But, for the record, I'm in;

Jeggings - 18, M&S
Breton, longline sweatshirt - XL, Uniqlo
Whit chunky trainers- 7, Fabric

AudreyAubergine · 06/01/2021 12:54

If anyone is interested in recent purchases in general too, I just got some new Fitflop canvas trainers in a red colour. I already have some white ones of theirs and they are fantastic for spring/summer/start of autumn, with turned up jeans. Less useful for wading through the bog which currently surrounds my rural town.

ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 06/01/2021 21:34

@AudreyAubergine would you recommend Uniqlo clothes? I've never bought any (don't live near any of their stores) but see them on here quite often. I love Fitflop sandals but usually find their shoes a bit tight fitting Sad I'm living in wellies and walking shoes at the moment too, the DC love a walk through the mud!!

AudreyAubergine · 06/01/2021 21:52

I really like Uniqlo actually, clara. I find their basics really good quality for the price. I have just bought some (mens Blush) lambswool jumpers and a couple of long sleeve tops from there. I also have had their womens merino v necks in the past and liked them. I still have one and it's still going strong, but is very fine knit, so not terribly warm. In reviews, a couple of people said they didn't wash well, but I have found them really forgiving. I also like their jeggings.

I don't buy any of their fancier stuff though. Just basics like the above, which is all I need at the moment! Plus wellies, as you say.

I'm doing a thing where I only buy specific items on my list for the year. If I do it without cheating, I'm treating myself to Dublin River boots for next winter!

ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 08/01/2021 21:52

Ah thanks @AudreyAubergine, I'll put Uniqlo on my list to visit when we're finally out of lockdown although I may be a pensioner by then - I thought there'd be some more bits to try in the January sales, but haven't seen many things I like. Such a shame all the charity shops are shut as there are quite a lot near me, always useful for spotting styles/ colours to try out.

The wellies are getting a lot of use at the moment!!
