@Laska2Meryls and @Saurus72, love the outfits.

Countmeout · 09/09/2020 21:28

Those Gabi cords look great @Laska2Meryls. I always size down in the Gabi twill trousers. Are these the same. Thanks for the info re the colour, sounds better than expected.

Craftycorvid · 09/09/2020 23:00

Evening, fellow Toast fiends. May I join your lovely thread? I’ve been catching up with threads one and two and finding it so uplifting in a world gone mad.

So, my Toast credentials:
I regularly weave lentils but have never knowingly grown a carrot.
I’ve thrown the odd pot, but am not very good at it.
I read the Guardian.
I’m a therapist.

Just scored a lovely striped wool blend Toast jacket on eBay and love a bargain (or six) but totally missed the JL thing.

Laska2Meryls · 10/09/2020 09:06

Welcome Crafty you definitely pass with those credentials! Your ebay find sounds fab..
Countmeout Yes definitely size down on the Gabi cords. Those are a 10 and generous fitting . The colour is really fab, they have a slight deep brown twinge on the light , but I think you could wear black with them..

ilovecherries · 10/09/2020 09:23

Hi crafty, that def qualifies you for Toast. Good eBay find.

I am currently trying to decide if I should return my twill gabis for a smaller size. The smaller ones wouldn’t fit right this minute and I do only buy for the size I am. BUT, I’ve got half a stone of lockdown lard Sitting right on my bum that I’ve already taken steps to rectify and should be gone within 6 weeks. I’m worried that will make them too baggy and they would be an expensive purchase if I only got a few wears out of them.

ilovecherries · 10/09/2020 09:24

But - it’s getting autumnal here and they are the perfect trousers to wear right now.

Saurus72 · 10/09/2020 11:06

@ilovecherries I would keep them if you can wear them now. Not casting aspersions on your weight-loss ability but extended lockdown into winter may mean weight stays. In which case, having lovely things to wear will be all positive. Then when you lose the weight you can eBay them.

@Laska2Meryls

Gabi cords in the brown slate ( nigh on black) . Really pleased with them
Love these @Laska2Meryls

I am loving some of the KIn stuff too. I love my navy patterned dress. Its shrunk slightly in the wash being viscose and now its perfect. I am so tempted to buy the black one but i have spent quite a lot this month so far.

Saurus, I think you are right. The 12 is just perfect just now, so I think I will just enjoy them with my Thought socks and brogues and let my future smaller ass worry about it when the time comes!

neveradullmoment99 · 10/09/2020 15:59

Oooh @ilovecherries I have two pairs of thought socks. I have a mustard pair with black flowers and a gorgeous purple pair. Purchased at Dobbies!

I caved and ordered the denim dress, after I had phoned Toast and asked them for a discount code Blush(I have no shame!) They dutifully obliged and gave me a 15% off code! So then I lost the run of myself and ordered the sleeveless wool tunic too!
Will report back when they arrive, I have also been given a 20% off code for a first timer, so if anyone wants it let me know

neveradullmoment99 · 10/09/2020 16:33

Oh yes, me please! @fingeroffudge!

@neveradullmoment99 can you pm me your email address so I can send it to you, it seems to be the only way.
Also I'm not sure, can I send it to more than one person? I'm happy to try to send to others too!

Spottyegg · 10/09/2020 16:53

Happy to try out a discount code! Here I am in the Oxford dress - too much like a nightie??!

@ilovecherries

I would hang onto them if they fit well now.

Easy to alter and worth if you do lose weight .
I wouldnt think half a stone equates to a whole dress size anyway.
Im much more proactive regarding alterations now as I think its worth getting a good fit.
As regards the Toast knit wear I would agree that its not the best quality.
Not all wool is scratchy, thats the shorter less soft fibres ,its hard wearing but I want my knitwear to be warm, light and durable not itchy.
Particularly at the Toast prices.
The wool/ cashmere cardigans look lovely but for £195 I would want 100% cashmere.

I knit an awful lot but Im afraid Brora get my vote for knitwear.

Craftycorvid · 10/09/2020 17:34

Thanks for the welcome! (Sets aside lentils and pottery project).

Anyone have experience of the ‘workwear’ denim pinafore in terms of sizing? I’m eyeing one on eBay and thinking it looks generous.

Countmeout · 10/09/2020 18:10

Well I’m going to take the opposite view @ilovecherries, I’d probably try the smaller size as I’m not sure there’s that much difference and I think my Gabies I bought this year have given a bit. I hate it when something I’ve bought is suddenly too big. They are a fantastic trouser and I’ve got a lot of wear out of mine already. And I have faith in your weight loss plans.
I really like that dress @ spottyegg .
We’ve eaten all my carrots, wasn’t hard as none of them was bigger than 2 inches!
If anyone finds that code works for more than one person would they kindly pm me it and I will get the twill Gabis in black and the cord ones like Laskas to try.
