@ilovecherries it’s what the side view was like would swing it either way for me, I’ve tried that style and I feel I’m too busty to get away with it. Looks lovely from the front though.

ilovecherries · 01/10/2020 16:49

TaRa. Drumroll. Side view.

Toast the fourth!
Countmeout · 01/10/2020 17:34

Sorry @ilovecherries for me I think I would feel I was veering into maternity territory from the side. Have you tried the other denim ones @Spottyeggis talking about?

DarlingCoffee · 01/10/2020 17:40

I just popped into say I bought the brown Toast cords from John Lewis, they arrived today and I LOVE them!!!

Craftycorvid · 01/10/2020 18:24

Ilovecherries it could do with coming in at the waist really, but don’t know if that style would work with a belt?

ilovecherries · 01/10/2020 18:55

It’s ok, it’s going back. Anything that needs that much thought is a no. Pity as it’s beautifully made but I felt as if I was going to be knocking things over while wearing it as I wasn’t in control of the edges! Will see if anything better appears in the next sale, not paying full price for the other style, I only tried this one as it was reduced.

AuldFox · 01/10/2020 18:55

It’s a no from me too cherries

I think it’s too big and not flattering your figure in the oversized insouciant draping kind of way.

MikeUniformMike · 01/10/2020 19:16

I asked before about Beaumont Organics and may have said, I wanted to like them but didn't like the styles. The AW20 styles look great though.

ScottishMouse · 01/10/2020 19:17

Yep @ilovecherries, I have to say I agree with the other comments. I tried this dress earlier in the summer and had the same feeling about it. Just a bit too a-line, and combined with the stiffness of the fabric, it felt awkward. I have the pinafore style in a cotton/linen mix from some seasons back and it is a much better shape.

MikeUniformMike · 01/10/2020 19:27

Sorry about the plug, but I have no association at all with them but they look a bit Toast-y.

Stalf is another one.

Laska2Meryls · 01/10/2020 21:41

So, No one is impressed with the Taro shirt? .. I rather liked it....🤔

Laska2Meryls · 01/10/2020 21:44

Looks better with skinny jeans perhaps....

neveradullmoment99 · 01/10/2020 22:47

I likevthe taro @Laska2Meryls. Its lovely close up. Love the print.
I think it needs skinnies.
Its very similar in style to the stripe one we both have.
It does look quite generous from the side but fine from the front.

AFingerofFudge · 01/10/2020 22:48

@Laska2Meryls I really like it, it's the one that's longer at the back than the front? And no, I don't think it would be better with skinny jeans, I think it looks great with the trousers.

AFingerofFudge · 01/10/2020 22:49

@neveradullmoment99 lol at us giving conflicting advice!

Countmeout · 02/10/2020 06:57

I have the cotton oxford shirt @Laska2Meryls which is a similar cut. I wore mine yesterday with Skinnies but I have worn it with trousers too. I prefer it with skinnies but the trousers were fine, I just occasionally feel it’s one of those items that wears me instead of vice versa.
I bought two long sleeve cotton tops (mine have a sort of polo neck but loose) and I balked at the cost at the time but I’ve got so much wear out them so I think the cotton top might get lots of wear if you decide to keep it.

Craftycorvid · 02/10/2020 08:41

I always love a shirt, but fear it’ll wear me as I’m not tall. Yours looks good, Laska.

Laska2Meryls · 02/10/2020 08:58

Ok its a keeper! Like the conflicting skinny baggy style advice !! Shows that Toast is versatile!
I have been looking at other breton stripes and tbh can't find any that I like so much colour combination wise.. So keeping that top also ( and pretending that it wasn't that expensive.....🤭.)

AmethystMoonShine · 02/10/2020 09:19

Another refund from Toast this morning, obviously they don’t have any more of the herringbone blouse either.
.... so that means I can definitely get the black & green checked dress to try after my John Lewis styling session next week! Grin

ilovecherries · 02/10/2020 09:28

I’ll be interested how that green check fits, moonshine. I tried the chalkboard check and my normal size wouldn’t fasten at the waist, but was too big on the shoulders.

Craftycorvid · 02/10/2020 09:54

I’m applauding your logic Amethyst. Personally, I’ve raided eBay of Toast items even though I know sellers are probably getting bargains, bulk buying and selling at a mark - up, it’s still cheaper than full price. Hmm

Laska2Meryls · 02/10/2020 10:55

wearing today withh leggings.. yes possibly better.. Anyway I am keeping it 👍

onlyconnect · 02/10/2020 11:24

Sorry if these have already been talked about, I haven't read the whole thread. Has anyone bought these? I love the look of them but they're very expensive! Tempted.....

ToastCosILoveIt · 02/10/2020 12:21

Moonshine, re the Sie check dress, size up is my view, especially if you are busty. I have the 14 which just about fits at the waist even though I am a 12 in other styles and occasionally even a 10. it is very similar to the purple patterned dress of early spring which I couldn't get to fit me even in a larger size but which looked fab if you could (I think someone on here bought it for a wedding or special event).

It is a beautiful dress: I haven't worn it yet but autumn is well and truly here so it will be getting an outing soon.

neveradullmoment99 · 02/10/2020 14:53
