@Starlight39 brilliant thank you, I'll join

DontBeShelfish · 31/08/2020 15:12

A SBS admin on TP has claimed that the reason why people have been booted out of the FB group is because they were giving away info for free that other members had been charged for. That seems to be how they're justifying kicking folks out of the group last night.

Mamagotskills · 31/08/2020 15:42

It seems that it’s not about the number of users but the level of moderation and control they wanted to have. Even honest, constructive feedback seems to equate to ‘bullying’ which in my mind makes a mockery of real cyber bullying.

For me it appears that having build her business around herself and her name she cannot differentiate between criticism of the business and her as a person. Feedback and post sales customer service is such an important part of any business. In order to grow they have to become more resilient.

HumousWhereTheHeartIs · 31/08/2020 16:02

@Mamagotskills Agree with everything you said.

It is a shame because there was potential for her business to be great. There is surely a massive gap for budget, high street style advice and positivity. Now I think this move to Patreon could potentially have ruined her business.

Absolutely this.

She never moved away from placing herself at the centre of the business. And therefore any criticism was apparently aimed at her personally, not the business model.

I’m pretty stunned at this. I used the service myself last year and was happy with it for the money. I recommended it to my friends who also used it and I really liked Susie, the business, her podcasts and general outlook but the way things have been expanded so quickly and some of the choices she’s made in terms of the stylists brought in and now this... well, it’s just such a shame. It makes no sense to cut off a community of potential subscribers too. If she gave a free month or a sneak peek at the content even that might help but why would I sign up to a monthly fee not knowing what I’ll get?! Madness. I hope her business survives all this.

MrsSchadenfreude · 31/08/2020 19:11

Re Susie’s latest post - where has she been called vile, and every name under the sun? Not in the comments after her video (which seems to have gone), not on here, certainly. If people have been contacting her directly, and doing this, then that is terrible.

WineGetsMeThroughIt · 31/08/2020 19:12

There's a new post up. Looks like she's not backtracking. It's an announcement post about being bullied and nasty comments. She's disabled comments on the post though

They don’t exist anywhere. That’s why no one can see them. Wink

I guess a lot of people from the group FB page were already feeling a little disgruntled or off about the heavy censorship (like me) so giving someone the opportunity to set up a new FB page with basically a list of clients or potential clients was an absurd move. Who the hell advised that pissing off 7k people (assuming half will move but I seriously doubt it) would grow your business? And why did no one stop you - have they all drunk the #bekindalways koolaid or was no one prepared to challenge your Don Quixote foolishness? Some other stylists will no doubt reap the part of the market you have just cast away like trash (that is what they feel like by the way).

LightOfAThousandStars · 31/08/2020 19:44

I can't find the new group either, is there another part of the name?

ThousandsAreSailing · 31/08/2020 19:46

The concept wardrobe is excellent. I went on it after the last recommendation on here
I'm an inverted triangle
SBS seems to get all the body shapes wrong imo. Tiny little figures come out as strawberries, every man and his dog are hour glass and many have no obvious waist at all

She has to realise that criticism of her business is not criticism of her. If she really cannot separate the two then issues will never be addressed.

Adwodeabo · 31/08/2020 20:11

I can't find the new group either
I had to scroll quite a long way down in the search results. The profile pic is white shelves of clothes.

YettaTessieMarmelstein · 31/08/2020 20:29

The new group already has stylists, hairdressers and make up artists offering services.
I actually think it is a real shame. This could have been handled differently. Instead, SBS clients are going elsewhere. I would be interested to know how many people have signed up to Patreon.

YettaTessieMarmelstein · 31/08/2020 20:30

If SBS had offered to double-check the analyses of unhappy customers Or dealt with criticism kindly then none of this would have happened.

glowinthebark · 31/08/2020 20:48

Susie has totally brought this shit show on herself. Shockingly poor business decisions.

MrsSchadenfreude · 31/08/2020 20:59

On Instagram several people have said that they can’t get the chat app, that Susie is using, to work, so have given up. Someone else has helpfully said that it is clunky and difficult to use, and if people aren’t going to be able to get to grips with it quickly, they’re not going to join.

Teladi · 31/08/2020 22:28

Would someone mind PMing me a link to the other group mentioned as my Facebook app clearly can't deal and it isn't coming up on my search?

I'm an SBS fan but can't justify the cost of the new model unfortunately!

ABCyouandme · 01/09/2020 01:04

Are we really all ok with this?

"she comes across as quite pathetic"
"her clients look like dog shit"
"she needs to get a stylist"
"must be crying in her curry tonight"
"she screams of desperation".

octoberbundle · 01/09/2020 05:05

Also so disappointed and can't work out what I'd be getting for £72 after buying several services already....the Facebook page has been amazing. I also can't find the new page, can someone point out its name or pm me?! Thanks so much

No, I'm not ok with this.
HappyKatieA · 01/09/2020 06:03

What I meant was, most of us have not said things like this. We have discussed the business.
