SBS’s Instagram is just full of Mhairi breaking lockdown rules by visiting Susie

Has she though? There were fewer than 6 people, right?

Parts of Scotland, for example Glasgow, are under enhanced lockdown so it just depends if Mhairi lives in one of those areas

Strictly speaking, people in west central Scotland can’t visit anyone else’s house and no one can visit them. But I was trying to be funny not critical.

I decided to look at her Instagram to see how when I looked at it earlier after being directed by Tomm stories before finding these forums it seemed so lovely and professional and made me want to buy into her services and I have realised all commenting is off? And there seems to be no mention of things before a group change?
Has she deleted all of this to try and hide this negativity?

As a potential new customer I must say I was quite taken in by this and her Facebook business page but I am so glad that I also research companies first before spending my pennies. I'm also going to unfollow tomm as I cannot believe someone who is meant to have integrity would recommend a lady who would do this to a fellow human being. This truly does not fit with a be kind ethos that is heavily promoted through both her social media channels.

As an outsider all this has put me completely off using her or her styling team, not just because clearly they are getting some people completely wrong but from fear of me not being happy with a service I have paid for and being worried I would get sued for it should I dare to have an opinion.

On a lighter note someone may want to tell this delightful lady that she has a ton of weeds growing through her patio and she may wish to deal with those, however I wouldn't like her house to sue me for defamation of its character, but seriously sort that out - it looks a frightful mess. (A house can't sue me right?) 🤔

I think a lot of their customers have been from TOMM plugs. I know that's how i found them a couple of years ago, and now after this shit show tomm did another plug, after SBS socials were cleansed of anything negative from "before". clearly an attempt to get another influx of new customers unaware of recent events. The difference is that two years ago when I googled them after seeing she'd styled GB there was only a couple of mentions on Mumsnet, this time there's reviews and talk on forums so people will be able to read it and make their own decisions on whether to give them a go or not.

@Sarahbarney yes she's done a complete overhaul on her Instagram page and basically removed anything that either had negative comments, mentioned the move from her FB group to her Patreon group, anything with her family on it, all but one of her highlighted Instagram stories and probably anything to do with Emily (I've not checked and don't know if there were posts with her on it, but I would assume so from over the years).

Plenty of Emily posts still on Susie’s grid. She’s definitely de-personalised her insta though, much more business and less Susie.

When and where did TOMM plug sbs recently? I must have missed that. It definitely puts me off TOMM if she still supports SBS.

TOMM and SBS have the same VA, and I believe at one time they were both represented by Carol Driver, although I'm not sure if they still are. They're 'friends' although whether it's a promotional friendship (think Mrs Hinch and Stacey Solomon) or they actually are pals I don't know.

This whole thing has turned sour pretty quickly. I've had to warn 3 friends off booking a styling service with SBS this week, all because they saw TOMM on This Morning and she recommended SBS (not sure of she recommended her on TM or her insta)

I saw it recommended on her Instagram stories!

I have dipped back into the thread and caught up and cannot believe the situation with the legal letters. It is so stupid in hindsight but I feel disappointed as I thought SBS was genuinely different.

I was planning a few more service so will see what Emily is offering.

Also just to say Mhairi isn't in one of the local lockdown areas so her traveling hasn't broken the rules. May have broken other rules if more than 6 of them though!

I think I'd wait before I bought from Emily to see the sorts of things she posts. I saw an interesting post on the facebook group yesterday about knee length boots and loads of women were under the impression that they shouldn't wear them because they were hour glasses. Another stylist came on and her view was if you like something to try to find was to wear it and she made suggestions about wearing the same colour boots as jeans or different ones if you were tall. She really seemed to know what she was talking about.

Anyway my point is that while Emily is fabulous and has a great personality I would want to see if she offers that sort of advice. I know she says 'it's ok to break the rules' but I think the stylist I'm talking about had more nuanced rules that you could apply.

I suspect she does as I noted a post where somebody had had an SBS analysis and had gone back to her confused about colours and apparently Emily was able to clarify by letting her know her 'sub' season (soft, light, deep etc) which isn't standard SBS. I think they have been encouraged to be more one size fits all which for a lot of women doesnt quite work.

I typed a jokey comment which has disappeared (suspect I didn't hit post) so my second comment would make no sense without it.
I said something along the lines of "Maybe revenge will come from Priti Patel if Susie and Mhairi are breaking lockdown".
@Squintybumcheek All of Glasgow and surrounding areas are in lockdown. I think Mhairi once posted she lives in Lanarkshire which in lockdown. But, doesn't bother me what people choose to do.

That’s great to hear @Sharpeningbeneath the stylists never really commented on the other facebook page so it’s hard to tell how good they are. I do really like Emily’s get an outfit from Pinterest and do it at a high street price that was on her instagram. I wanted to buy all the clothes.

Oh apologies, I thought Mhairi lived in Ayrshire. If she has driven all that way when you aren't supposed to meet others then I hope she does get fined. Bloody ridiculous!
