Thank you GingerAndTheBiscuits and LoriesGar!

God, sorry about the typos!

Cherryup · 19/09/2020 15:13

What a mess all this is (understatement), talk about self destruct.

I'm surprised there wasn't a clause in Emily's contract about setting up in direct competition for say 6 months after leaving, that's the norm in most industries 🤷‍♀️. Best of luck to her though and I'm glad she's kept her integrity.

I don’t have the legal knowledge but my instinct is no, it’s just another poor attempt at scaring you

redavocado · 19/09/2020 17:14

@happyandloved it's basically an NDA/confidentiality agreement. You have freedom of contract so if you agree to the terms, there's no need to go to court. She'd need to go to court for them to grant something like an injunction.

BTW, I'm an ex-SBS customer (never again!) and lawyer. I do deal with libel occasionally but it's not really my area.

ChaChaCha2012 · 19/09/2020 17:14

A court is not going to prohibit you from posting anything that is a) true, and b) not posted with the intent of causing harm or distress. A solicitor certainly cannot prohibit you from doing that, and if they're implying that they can, I'd be reporting them to the SRA.

Examples of causing harm and distress might be posting inappropriate pictures of someone, posting an MP's home address. An honest review of a business is definitely not malicious communication, or defamatory.

On what you've said, they won't take you to court. What they might do is pick someone that has left a review or made posts that are exaggerated or not entirely true, and pursue them. They'd do this as a warning shot to others, "this is what we'll do if you're mean to us".

It's horrible to receive a letter like that, any business that chooses to intimidate customers in that way does not deserve to be in business. But please be reassured that you can rely on the complete defence that your statements are true.

You’ve paid for a service with the expectation it would be executed with skill. If they’ve got your season and shape wrong, a customer would of course have the opinion the service provider isn’t good at their job.

Question for SBS: if a stylist getting a customers season and shape isn’t being bad at their job, how do you define being bad?

LoriesGar · 19/09/2020 17:52

And the irony of accusing MN and Tattle of screenshotting when their fangirls are doing exactly that

YettaTessieMarmelstein · 19/09/2020 18:00

There are several women on the old Sisterhood group who were clearly given the wrong season. If that isn’t proof that the SBS stylists aren’t good at their jobs, what is? The comment from you @happyandloved should be no surprise.

TofinoSurf · 19/09/2020 18:06

So they are saying your shape and season are correct then and you are lying about it being wrong? Because they can't argue they got it wrong but they are good at their job can they Confused

LivingDeadGirlUK · 19/09/2020 18:17

If there are people in the group screen shotting and sending them back to Susie than thats really low of them. However its more likely her or the hustle woman have joined with a fake account that they are keeping under the radar.

I was thinking earlier that only a few weeks/months ago this thread and the previous were just a few of us saying we didn’t think she always got people’s seasons or shapes right, but the business was a good idea and could be fantastic with some work.

Then the complaints started to come out and rather than address them she doubled down and escalated the situation, blocked people and encouraged positive trust pilot reviews, real or fake.

Then when we still didn’t stfu she doubled down and escalated further; started randomly removing members of her fb group then eventually closed her fb group with 14k or so members and decided that the way forward was paid Patreon, reducing her following to 800 or so.

Because of this, more bad reviews came out and people on the new group started to realise what was happening, so she doubled down and escalated AGAIN and sent cease and desist letters to bully people into submission.

Now people are aware of her threatening others with legal action which is arguably not great for her business.

Anyone want to guess what her next action will be?

Two choices:

  1. Admit the faults in her business, apologise to unhappy customers, move on and try to better herself and her business; or

  2. Double down and escalate

????

SevenPsychpaths · 19/09/2020 20:34

Just read the whole thread today (popcorn and all)
I'm actually in shock the level Susie has gone to to silence unhappy customers! I genuinely thought she was a nice person, but definitely shown her true colours and shown me I'm a terrible judge of character!

WineGetsMeThroughIt · 19/09/2020 20:47

Has anyone else noticed that Susie has done a complete clear out of her IG account, removing a load of previous posts?

She's removed all the posts teasing her big announcement a few weeks ago, the IG live video of her announcement is gone, the follow up posts explaining how it worked are all gone. They all had negative comments on them, so once again she's censoring the way people see her so it's only positive.

Her latest post is a pair of one of the ugliest chunky trainers I've ever seen. I cannot imagine a grown woman wearing them

OP posts:
LoriesGar · 19/09/2020 20:49

@TrashPandaTime I think she’ll escalate, but where can she go from here?

WineGetsMeThroughIt · 19/09/2020 20:53

Also on an even more random note, but I know we've discussed Karina being an autumn instead of a winter - or at least a dark winter if anything winter.

But everytime I see the SBS stylist Kelly (she does bridal I think) I cant help think she's a strawberry / inverted triangle. Apples aren't meant to wear belts but she wears belts all the time and her top half always looks out of proportion to her bottom. I thought an apples waits was meant to be the widest part, but her chest is definitely bigger than that.

I feel like SBS's stylists aren't even getting it right for themselves

OP posts:
LivingDeadGirlUK · 19/09/2020 21:30

Would totally wear those trainers Blush

YettaTessieMarmelstein · 19/09/2020 21:36

Whatever the reasons, nice and kind people don’t threaten to sue disappointed customers. Nice people say sorry and ask how they can rectify things or organise a refund.

TofinoSurf · 19/09/2020 21:58

But what on earth does the next level of double down and escalate look like?! I dread to think...
