I totally agree, if anything had I been offered a free trial I am notorious for forgetting to cancel these things in time and I'm sure they would have caught a few people that way!

I've certainly been put off dealing with them further in terms of the dreadful customer service.

The conversation about Emily was pretty annoying as I am sure there were plenty of group members who simply felt uncomfortable that what they posted in a private group could be taken back to be reported on. People don't want to be blocked on Instagram or banned from using any SBS services due to an opinion posted on a private group!

HumousWhereTheHeartIs · 14/09/2020 10:23

And still nothing from Susie herself

HumousWhereTheHeartIs · 14/09/2020 10:37

I think Emily would make a killing if she went solo.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 14/09/2020 10:39

It feels like SBS are treating their client base like children when in reality the members are women with wide ranging careeres and backgrounds. So many with business or PR experience who can see what a train wreck it is. Its like on here when someone pipes up on a thread that their husband works as x and his opinion is y lol

StealthNinjaMum · 14/09/2020 11:31

I feel sorry for Emily and think its unreasonable to ask her to leave. It would be possible for anyone to set up a second facebook account to join the group and pass info on and if people feel the group is more private without Emily they're very naive, there really is no such thing as privacy on facebook. I suspect Emily won't be working at SBS for long as there were suggestions that 'she'll be back' and surely SBS won't be able to pay the salaries of so many stylists.

As for withdrawing an offer for a free trial, I can't believe that SBS have made such a massive error. They seem to be constantly trying to shut people up (pm's to offer a free trial, closing the free facebook group, admin not allowing some facebook posts, querying trust pilot reviews) rather than respond to criticisms and these days you just can't do that, people will find their own ways of talking freely - like this thread!

I think you’re bang on the money here. They seem to have vastly underestimated the intelligence and savviness of the members. They think we’re “just” disgruntled customers mouthing off, but when you look deeper in to the comments you can actually see that people on here (and the site that shall not be named) are having discussions about the nuances of running this type of business. Granted, none of us know what exactly is going on behind the scenes (and I think the majority of posters recognise that) but we are having a reasoned discussion. This was confirmed for me when. saw that the Hustle lady posted a passive aggressive inspirational quote on her stories implying that unless you’re a marketing type you shouldn’t comment - well guess what? A lot of us are...
WineGetsMeThroughIt · 14/09/2020 14:56

My thoughts are that current Patreon members may have kicked off about the first month free offer. So they may have retracted it because if they offer a free month to some they'd have to offer a free month to all and that would bring the first months revenue to £0.

This may have been discussed on the FB posts in the new group but I've not seen them.

I’ve just noticed I’ve been blocked by SBS and coincidentally by Main Street Hustle on Instagram.

Wow

I was booted and blocked from the original SBS sisterhood when I questioned why others had been booted and blocked and didn’t it go against Susie’s own ethos of inclusivity and be kind.

Seems that being blocked from the main SBS insta page was the next step. Then looked at Main Street hustle insta page and oh what a surprise, blocked from there too

MSH chick really doesn’t like me does she?

I’ve paid for services as well - ah well. Im really feeling it’s no loss, but Susie I really truly hope you know what you are doing.

HumousWhereTheHeartIs · 14/09/2020 18:24

if they knew what they were doing, they would have loads of customers remaining loyal. So many of their services - like hair, make up and online shops - require previous analysis by them, so they spoiled thousands of potential sales.

I’ve received the services I’ve paid for, so that’s not an issue and I’ve actually no issue with the services I’ve received, it’s how it’s all suddenly been run and how nasty it’s all turned.

It not how Susie would have previously run the company

TrashPandaTime · 14/09/2020 19:30

I don’t believe it’s worth leaving a negative review on fb as I think the page owner can just delete reviews. I may be wrong though.

Let’s be honest, now susie has lost (thrown away?!) her 14k strong fb group that she could enjoy advertising to for FREE, how are people going to find her? I guess she’s gonna have to start paying to advertise. And most people looking for a stylist will google for reviews which brings up here and trust pilot. I can’t see how this is a good long term business plan.

I’m sure that main hustle woman is sitting laughing at my ignorance because clearly I don’t work in that field and she knows all the secrets...

@happyandloved I reckon it is the hustle woman responding, and it actually make me feel sorry for susie. She’s had this terrible advice and then when there’s still a scrap of potential to salvage the damage to her business this woman is just coming along and putting off potential customers even more.

GingerAndTheBiscuits · 14/09/2020 21:13

I’m trying to imagine Caroline Hirons, or Trinny and Suzanna (probably showing my age there...) or Gok Wan or Louis bloody Vuitton reading comments on Facebook groups dedicated to them and then seeking out people’s Instagram handles to block them from seeing their business pages. It’s absolute batshittery. It must be exhausting to keep up with. Utterly pointless and hugely detracting from the business.

GingerAndTheBiscuits · 14/09/2020 21:15

The Main Hustle’s latest insta post reads like one of those #MomBoss MLM zombies that I’ve had to hide from my Facebook.

OMG yes! It seems strangely like MLM. I don't like the whole vibe of her feed. She irritates the fu

TrashPandaTime · 14/09/2020 21:31

@GingerAndTheBiscuits yes, I just started falling down that rabbit hole a bit because I thought the same...

If you look at who she’s tagged they are also very MLM-y in their posts and run a business that is “subscribe to our talks about how to make your business so successful, buy some PDFs, and you can reach 7 figures!”

WowStarsWow · 14/09/2020 21:32

I'm also blocked by MHS. Never paid for SBS services, was in the old group and commented a few times, never had any contact with them or admin. I am in the new group. But it's private so how would she know? (I'm sure I've looked at her insta page since the group got made private.)

Very confused but one thing's for sure, someone is putting a lot of effort into blocking and silencing when they could be doing damage control and improving the business.

I'm not blocked by Susie.

Bizarre.
