It also coincides with KatBum setting up a similar Facebook group that's very popular. Bad timing.

Is this Doesmybumlook40? Excellent!

I'm not OK with those comments about Susie and would be happy to see them removed but do think they are a very small part of this thread that is mostly fairly constructive. Every Mumsnet thread has a few off beat comments, it's part of being on a large forum I think. Many business owners would consider this type of honest feedback gold dust.

Styling is a very subjective thing that is bound to attract more (and more personal) criticism than other businesses.

I haven't seen any members photos outside the SBS group. Other large FB groups I've been on have also experienced some photo sharing outside the group. The admin have cracked down, deleted a few members and done a few posts about it and things seem to go back to normal pretty quick.

Jdhshekr · 01/09/2020 12:16

I’m not ok with those things that have been said either, although I only recall seeing one of those comments and it was deleted quickly. People have been quick to say “not ok” whenever anyone has said something unacceptable about any member of the group or any of the stylists, but that has only happened a couple of times. If members have been mentioned it has never been by name and the criticisms have never been about them, they have been about the poor styling that they have received as they have been told to wear colours or shapes that are completely wrong for them. That isn’t the customers fault. The business has been criticised for that reason - these women are paying a substantial amount of money (when you don’t have a high income) to be given advice that is wrong, and they are then spending money on clothes/haircuts/glasses that don’t suit them. That’s not fair and it’s not good business.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 01/09/2020 13:34

I can't believe she outright lied about pictures being shared. That's really shocking and so manipulative.

That aside the roll out of the new platform could be held up as the perfect example of how not to present a change to your customers. Sudden change, no trial, phrased as a benefit when actually its the removal of a service to put behind a paywall, and the dealing with the incredibly predictable fallout. I sincerely hope her business adviser has been given the boot because it's been a disaster.

HumousWhereTheHeartIs · 01/09/2020 13:56

Someone on the new group is accusing Susie of bullying her "horribly".

MabelMoo23 · 01/09/2020 14:31

Reading through the new group, I really do think the gloss and shine is falling away from the SBS group and the business.

Some of the stories.. basically everyone was being censored, and only positive pro SBS posts were allowed. It’s literally like a cult.

Everyone is coming out of the woodwork now

WineGetsMeThroughIt · 01/09/2020 14:44

The Trust Pilot reviews are saying it all. Finally...

I stumbled across these threads a while back and am mightily relieved to have done so. The threads have provided constructive criticism for me, and helpful ideas on where to spend my money should I eventually commit to finding a suitable style analyst.

I'm not a high earner, so spending money on a style analysis would've been a big deal for me. I really researched SBS but whilst I couldn't find any particular criticism of the service, something to me smelled a bit off about it.

I'd have been gutted to have spent my hard-earned wedge and then been presented with a cut and paste pdf and patronising #bekind bollocks.

Thanks to the many people on the various SBS threads for taking the time to push on this. I for one am grateful.

HumousWhereTheHeartIs · 01/09/2020 15:39

I just read Susie's update and some of the things said have been awful - but mainly on Tattle I think since I haven't seen anything so bad here. The publishing of her son's full name is awful and against media law so I'm not surprised she is taking legal action.

Willow4987 · 01/09/2020 15:53

@HumousWhereTheHeartIs I’ve seen what’s on tattle. It’s no worse than what’s on here if I’m honest so I don’t really buy the latest Instagram post.

It’s the same criticism that’s being given on this thread around the lack of feedback, cut and paste analysis etc

YettaTessieMarmelstein · 01/09/2020 15:58

@HumousWhereTheHeartIs @Willow4987
One of her stylists named Susie’s son on her instagram story once. It stuck in my mind because he is never even shown in her pictures let alone named.
I also looked on Tattle and it didn’t seem as bad as Is claimed. But then no one I saw was sharing pictures of their analyses either so who knows?!

Geggs · 01/09/2020 16:06

She’s playing the victim rather than taking responsibility. There have been no pictures of any women shared, so she’s lying.

Willow4987 · 01/09/2020 16:19

@YettaTessieMarmelstein yes I saw that too r.e. Her son. And someone on tattle did mention his first name in passing around the time she was asking for maternity clothing content and people speculated if she was pregnant. It wasn’t anything negative at all

YettaTessieMarmelstein · 01/09/2020 16:35

Mhairi definitely named him which could be the only reason someone on a tattle knew his name.
*to be clear in case this is misconstrued (twisted) no one here is naming him.

Geggs · 01/09/2020 16:57

@HumousWhereTheHeartIs his name is in various articles including The Daily Mail. Articles she was more than likely paid for or at the very least used to promote her business.

Marsis · 01/09/2020 17:09

Her son wasn’t doxed it was just an off hand comment as somebody said above. These are just more examples of her twisting the narrative to be the victim. If she took on and accepted feedback these threads wouldn’t have turned the way they did. The nature of her business means she will get feedback on her clothes/appearance.

She may have received unpleasant pms since the announcement but must people on her site were just disappointed to be losing something they found valuable so it’s unlikely they turned on her. If she’s referring to the threads here and elsewhere it’s not trolling if you have to actively seek out what people are saying about you.

Finally if the reason for her move was the feedback she was getting outside the FB group why employ a new marketing person who’s speciality is apparently is helping businesses to make more money. The term ‘hustle’ itself basically means to rip somebody FGS.

Marsis · 01/09/2020 17:11

Rip somebody off that should say

Atalune · 01/09/2020 17:28

On which forums were clients photos used and then snarked about? I have not seen it on here or on Tattle. Can anyone enlighten me?

I think going to a locked member only forum is fine. But to charge for it is crazy. Just tuna private Facebook group with half decent admins

Ironfloor269 · 01/09/2020 17:46

It sure looks like Susie is twisting the story to her own advantage. Gosh, does she have any standards at all?

Pepperwand · 01/09/2020 18:31

The whole thing has been a shit show. I was completely taken aback by the original announcement. Not about the move to subscriptions so much as the way the announcement was handled. I then saw the update from Susie that said the reason was because of trolling and sharing of photos on other forums and I softened a bit and felt a bit more understanding of everything. I then however looked on here and on the new site and some of the stories are really shocking. I feel manipulated to be honest and quite upset....which on one hand is ridiculous but on the other hand SBS had actually helped me to feel better about myself after having DC2.

OrangeCinnamon1 · 01/09/2020 18:37

I cant see her comment about her son. Has it been removed?

glowinthebark · 01/09/2020 18:50

@OrangeCinnamon1

I cant see her comment about her son. Has it been removed?
It's on her insta stories.
YettaTessieMarmelstein · 01/09/2020 19:00

The woman who is doing her marketing has now chimed in and signed off in a passive aggressive way. They say that pictures of analyses have been shared. That may be true and is against the rules, but if their analyses are bespoke then why does it matter? It would be if use to anyone else anyway. It can only matter because they are reproduced and not tailored. Mine had a few sentences about me which praised my legs and hair because I said I liked those areas and a list of shops that I had told them I shopped in. It was bizarre. But the recommendation of jeans and make up colours was useful.

MamaMoon16 · 01/09/2020 19:39

Has main school hustle instagram been shut down? I can't see it anymore...

Also. The screen shot of a nasty comment on Susie's Instagram stories was snapped 3 seconds after it was posted. That is QUICK?? Seems almost a bit too quick?
