I can't remember the last time i bought a pair of jeans.

OP posts:
Bwlch · 18/08/2020 09:46

Anything baggy, flappy or high waisted.

Thecobwebsarewinning · 18/08/2020 09:51

Trousers - I own jeans and leggings in abundance but haven’t worn trousers for 30 years.

Any of the things fashion writers describe as ‘essentials’ so a trench coat, plain white T-shirt, white cotton shirt, blazers - they look awful on short women with big boobs. I can only assume fashion writers are all willowy with neat C cup breasts. Also ‘little black dresses‘, so dowdy. Even for funerals I prefer to wear navy or dark green.

Thecobwebsarewinning · 18/08/2020 09:54

@diplodocusinermine. Yes, I agree about logos. I’m not advertising their brand for them. Except for trainers, I love Nike trainers so I’m doomed to wear the tick.

Ginfordinner · 18/08/2020 10:10

Don't your feet get cold Bella2020?

grannycake · 18/08/2020 10:19

Also visible zips on dresses and tops

hammeringinmyhead · 18/08/2020 10:36

Disagree on practicality of 3/4 sleeves. I get warm, and in winter the heating is on everywhere, but it looks a bit odd wearing a t shirt in December and long sleeves poke out of my leather jacket. 3/4 sleeves are perfect.

I never buy skirts. I own one.

EasilyDelighted · 18/08/2020 10:40

I like 3/4 sleeves, I don't like clothing round my wrists so all my long sleeved tops end up getting pushed up anyway.

EL8888 · 18/08/2020 10:50

Thongs
Anything with ruffles on (lm not a child!)
Anything in orange
Mini skirts or dresses (at the risk of sounding arrogant l have good legs but at my age they shouldn’t all be hanging out!!)
Anything made of polyester

@isabellerossignol it is the work of the devil! I am a sweaty person so it’s especially bad for me

allsideways · 18/08/2020 11:04

Polyester dresses or anything, they pong on me, even with hardcore anti perspirant where no sweat happens they still pong, I think it must be skin chemistry.

Flip flops
Jumpsuits/playsuits
Shorts
Beige
Kitten heels
Very pointy shoes (my feet don't need length added to them)
Very low cut anything
Scoop neck tops
Lightweight jersey fabric
Stretch satin
Fussy necklines (frills, ruffles, bows)
Itchy wool

MikeUniformMike · 18/08/2020 11:08

Skirts, dresses and trousers with no pockets. Jackets with no pockets.

Three-quarter length sleeves. Sleeveless tops and dresses unless pinafore types.

Cropped trousers.

Frilly tops or sleeves.

Horizontal stripe t-shirts

Clothes with big logos, tops with words on the chest.

LilOldMe · 18/08/2020 11:25

Strappy sandals
Shift dresses
Work jackets
Camisole tops
Sweatshirts
Waterproof coats
Hold-ups

Mrsjayy · 18/08/2020 11:28

Dresses/skirts ,cold shoulder tops jumpsuits look ridiculous on me !

CatBatCat · 18/08/2020 11:33

Dresses - the waist just doesn't sit right
Dungarees - ditto
Cold shoulder tops or anything that has massive gaping holes - just, why?
Heels - dodgy ankle
V necks - always suggested for my big bust but they make me feel matronly
Animal print - I don't mind wearing animal product like leather etc but I don't want to look like one.
Dressing gown - I don't faff about, I just get dressed or if I'm cold I put on a jumper.

Divoc2020 · 18/08/2020 11:56

M&S would do well to take note of this list before they bring in next season's collection Grin

MikeUniformMike · 18/08/2020 12:11

A-line skirts.
Tops with detail on the bust

M&S gets unfair treatment IMO. A lot of their stuff is great.

EL8888 · 18/08/2020 12:11

@Divoc2020 exactly!

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 18/08/2020 12:12

Ha, lots of my faves in this thread - dungarees, pussy-bow blouses, animal print, mom jeans, polo necks!

Things I never wear/buy are:

Leggings
Tracksuit/jogger/harem trousers unless they are for lounge-wear
Tunics
Any sort of heel
Anything in a print that might be described as "ditsy"
V or scoop neck tops or dresses

chunkyrun · 18/08/2020 12:13

Fast fashion! Clothes are always see through, poor quality and fall apart.

delilahbucket · 18/08/2020 12:16

Unfitted dresses/tops as big boobs make floaty things stick out and I look huge. Tops with buttons, also due to the boob issue. Anything where you can't wear a bra and nothing high/polo neck.

Thecobwebsarewinning · 18/08/2020 12:32

If they took notice of this they wouldn’t sell skirts, T-shirt’s, blouses, trousers, jeans, leggings, joggers, fitted dresses, floaty dresses, scoop necks, v necks, polo necks, short sleeves, Spaghetti straps or 3/4 sleeves. There’s not a lot left! Long sleeves sweatshirts and jumpers maybe? But I don’t wear them because my arms are very short!

The one thing that seems to be coming across very clearly is that MNetters don’t like heels.

NoraEphronsneck · 18/08/2020 12:33

Socks. Haven't worn them since I was a child, not even with trainers or boots. I have very hot feet Grin

Zinnia · 18/08/2020 12:47

Wow this a thread to illustrate how varied people's likes/hates are.

For me personally in terms of "clothing items" it's shorts - whether in trouser or skirt form. Hate my legs.

Style-wise I loathe the cold-shoulder and always have done, ditto logo clothing.

Frills, pussy bows, ditsy florals etc look awful on me so I don't buy them. That doesn't mean I think they shouldn't be sold though; to state the obvious, different bodies suit different things.

FWIW my cankles have never prevented me from wearing (long) skirts and dresses when I want to. And to the people who hate jumpsuits: you're wrong Wink.

hollieberrie · 18/08/2020 12:58

Heels
Shorts
Anything patterned
Trousers or jeans

I basically wear the same thing year round. Oversized top & midi skirt / oversized dress plus trainers. In winter add tights and a massive oversized cardigan. Add ankle boots if needing to be smarter (rare). I can't imagine wearing anything else Grin

Ginfordinner · 18/08/2020 13:00

And have big boobs :)

goose1964 · 18/08/2020 13:02

Jeans, can never find a pair that fits front and back. Tights horrid uncomfortable things.
