Yes @applecatchers36 send raincoat soonest. No waxed jackets in sale shop. I wonder whyHmm

Saurus72 · 04/08/2020 17:04

Ooh what a lovely little trio of goodies😊

Dottty · 04/08/2020 17:43
**@neveradullmoment99* and @Saurus72* thanks. I look forward to picking the dress up later. I am not sure when JL are updating their website but whenever I check they have added a few little things. It seems to be any time. I was very pleased to get the seersucker wrap dress for £48 which means I can return the one I bought to Toast at £95.
Ladies you were correct. I absolutely am delighted with the cotton oxford dress. I think it is less voluminous than I expected because of the dropped waist and tiers and the colour and fabric is beautiful. As I was already in JL it would have been rude of me not to go upstairs to see if any more bits had been added to the floor stock. To my delight the cotton jumpsuit in artichoke was there so I got that too for £57. It is great. Also one of the gathered shoulder Ts in a medium and the indigo top with the single button. There were lots of the honeycomb dresses available but I did not buy as even at 70% I could not justify it. I really am pleased with all my purchases. I am going to Wales camping this weekend and have some great new things to wear.

Moominmammaatsea · 04/08/2020 18:56

@Dottty, wow! What a lovely haul! I love that Oxford dress but I think it would be too short for me at nearly 5,9”. Out of interest, was it a London JL store you ventured into?

Dottty · 04/08/2020 19:09

@moominmamaatsea no it was Bristol. I am 5'6" so yes may be a little too short for you.

Hi lovely Toasties

I’m just about to dip my toe in to Toast purchasing, and have fallen in love with their bedding. Does anyone have a refer-a-friend code they might possibly be able to share? I tried the one posted up the page, but it didn’t seem to work (am still awaiting the email from Toast with the code to use). Not sure if it’s my phone being weird, or if they’re time limited or something? Huge thanks!

Laska2Meryls · 05/08/2020 17:19

Have pmd you Freddie

AFingerofFudge · 05/08/2020 18:55

Who else is missing stalking JL for Toast bargains??? I'm quite sure I have enough to wear but cant help looking just in case!!!

Saurus72 · 05/08/2020 19:00

I am! But nothing for ages now (unless I’ve missed it) 🙄. Probably for the best tbh - doing well with eBaying stuff so don’t want to immediately fill all the space back up!

Laska2Meryls · 05/08/2020 20:59

Saurus I did well with my ebay last month but they have just sent me the bill...a shocking £70!! ( so dont forget that they charge 10% final selling price as fees).
Yes I am missing stalking JL also . Now making a list of potentials for Toast's Autumn sale!! 🤣🤣

Saurus72 · 05/08/2020 21:17

Oh @Laska2Meryls - my bill is £90 😬. I did forget that, it’s been a few years since I’ve done eBay. I’m selling more things now - it’s weird but the more I let go the more I can let go. My wardrobe(s) are becoming more manageable but I think I could still get rid of another 29 things without missing them. Which is scary tbh. But yes autumn sale wish list is being compiled!

DameCelia · 10/08/2020 13:49

Hi lovely Toasties
I'm the poster who bought the painterly spot dress in 12 for a big event then found the bodice was too tight. After harassing various stores for a returned 14 with no luck (and let's not talk about the £700 worth of dresses from Matches which are all going back) a random call to Toast today has resulted in a 14 being found in the warehouse Smileand it'll be here tomorrow Grin.
Event is on Friday, fancy military parade and picnic. Dress code is lounge suits for men and equivalent for women Hmm helpful.
Not quite wedding attire but smart.
So, what do I wear with the dress?
Possibly rain showers although spectators and picnic under cover so am thinking bare legs, either black suede open to wedges or high ish clog type sandals, like Toast ones but higher. Not sure about bag and not convinced a hat would go with the dress.
Any suggestions on hat/bag/shoes?
Willing to buy full price and pay for next day delivery as dress was so reduced.
Thank you 😊

ToastCosILoveIt · 10/08/2020 14:05

Pleased to see this thread has come back to life after a quiet few days! Well done on the spot dress DameCelia: always good when perseverance pays off!

i have just bought the ink blue garment dyed linen dress on EBay in the medium. It was £90 BNWT but I expect it is a JL bargain. They had sold out on the Toast website and I needed a boast.

Thank you too to whoever used my refer a friend link: was it you Freddie? I have just had my 20% off email. I am now tempted to take back the Shari floral dress which i bought in store and buy it on line using the 20% off as that is a saving of £38. I am also now seriously eyeing up the soft cotton twill trousers in green and the Tulip print dress. Has anyone bought either and can comment on quality and sizing? x

Gonegrey31 · 10/08/2020 14:53

DameCelia well done on the dress. I’m not convinced that you need a hat with it as it is so stunning on its own, and makes a statement. Just plain black wedges I think, small unembellished clutch.

ilovecherries · 10/08/2020 15:14

I’m wearing the blue check Zoya today - a dress I dithered for weeks about keeping - and omg - the comfort! I’m off to the dentist soon (big excitement 🙄), so will enjoy wafting in it.

I currently have £900 worth in my basket awaiting a discount code.
Someone upthread mentioned they were in danger of buying better quality but more rather than less!
The cotton dresses I bought in the sale have been amazing in the heat.

Saurus72 · 10/08/2020 19:05

Yep @slipperyeel I think that was me 😏. I have been on a mission to reduce the number of things I buy for a few years (not necessarily spend less overall, but fewer impulse buys...) Including paying full price where things were very lovely and ‘needed’. And it’s been going well. Except I did get very caught up in the extreme Toast/JL sale and now it’s hard to stop. I have £700-worth of clothes on my wish list. And that’s without even trying 😬. Think I need to lie fallow for a while to calm the urges. Plus I know for a fact I will want more stuff in Autumn. I know myself. What’s in your basket btw..?!

slipperyeel · 10/08/2020 19:20

I’m thinking I should resist throughout September and then when it’s properly autumn in October if I still want the stuff I’ll go for it.

Top of my list is the swingy needlecord dress, looks comfortable and like I could wear it at home, out for dinner or to work.
I also want to get a couple more nighties as the cotton is great quality and they are amazing to sleep in. I have 1 pair of Gabi trousers and I’d like another pair and then also have my eye on the swingy cashmere cardigan in burned orange. I live in cardigans and I love the colour.

I should really just set up my browser so I can’t access the toast site!

Saurus72 · 10/08/2020 20:04

Those corduroy dresses! This is on my list www.toa.st/uk/product/womens+dresses+and+tunics/c1pbo/needlecord+pleat+dress.htm. I went to JL on Saturday and saw it IRL and she’s a beauty. I think maybe late September it will be time to strike. A lot of what I bought in the summer sale would work for A/W tho. I’ve also just ebayed loads of things - 62 items at the last count. So dangerously I have money sitting there. Oh god! Stay strong - those lovely nighties and cashmere cardi will be there in a couple of months 🙄

Moominmammaatsea · 10/08/2020 22:45

@DameCelia, is that the beauteous purple silk dress? If so, I would suggest that such a striking frock does not require a hat to complete it and my personal choice would be to err on the side of Swedish Hasbeen-type high clog sandals. The beauty of Toast is that less is more and such a striking dress does not need any competition in either the footwear or headwear departments! I’m so pleased that you managed to find the dress of your dreams and that the Toast customer service experience was so helpful for you. Going to go away now and consider your bag dilemma but as my style veers towards the super-minimalist and super-small, I may not be your woman!

Dottty · 11/08/2020 07:55

@DameCelia I cannot wait to see a pic of you in that dress. I am jealous. Would like it too. @Moominmammaatsea I think your idea of high Swedish clogs are a fab idea. There are other great ones around too. Saw some amazing ones on Etsy but cannot remember the brand. They were over £100.

I have decided to try and repurchase the honeycomb dress if still available in JL. Will call in my way home from work. I am so enjoying my new toast summer collection. Not saving anything "for best". Loving it.

Dottty · 11/08/2020 08:08

@DameCelia what about metallic ones such as silver heeled clogs....

slipperyeel · 11/08/2020 11:20

Try www.bjornclogs.co.uk/
For bargain clogs - I have a great heeled pair

paintyhands · 11/08/2020 13:25

Hasbeens still have some good bargains in their sale (for clogs).
