I have the boden ones. My only complaint is they are a little on the thick side. The wire is good at the nose though. It stops them from steaming up when you wear glasses.

Dottty · 24/07/2020 08:54

@neveradullmoment99

..and I am part of Toast Kindred!! [ I have free delivery as a perk for everything]
Oh @neveradullmoment99 thanks. I am a part of Toast Kindred too and get the free delivery. I have been a Toast fan for years and years and used love visiting their shop in Llandeilo probably twenty years ago.

Ah just managed to pick up the Baukjen Milly dress in my size. I am so happy! Been stalking that dress since I sent back a too small one. What a saddo Grin Hopefully I’ve not jinxed the weather! Thought it would nice with a jumper over when it gets cooler too.

The colours are 💗

@AmethystMoonShine well done on your purchases- they are lovely! Just googled the Eriba- beautiful! 💕

ilovecherries · 24/07/2020 09:04

That’s a beautiful dress, railing.

Gorgeous dress Railings, Baukjen is new to me. More temptation!

Railingsohno · 24/07/2020 09:23

Thanks ladies. I’m a bit mixed on Baukjen. Their stuff is great quality (always find a code though, there’s loads I used Hello2020 for 20 % off) Their basics are brilliant. But I don’t like a lot of the colours/shapes (Pale blue biker jacket Confused)- it’s quite samey. Not like Toast. However that dress is fab and cotton.

neveradullmoment99 · 24/07/2020 09:30

That dress is beautiful @Railingsohno. I have a very similar one in green that was from the Toast sale last year. Its a stunning dress and looks beautiful quality. Love the print.
I am not a fan of Baukjen either. I really don't get the love. I find generally the looks are quite formal generally. The odd thing is nice but I just don't gravitate to their things. That dress is the exception. It is very 'Toast'

neveradullmoment99 · 24/07/2020 09:32

NIce to see naturally silver haired models though.

Laska2Meryls · 24/07/2020 09:43

Floisme Thank you for the fab compliment ! Made my day ( after just discovering a huge water leak and clearing it up ! ( Sadly all my own fault too as forgetful me failed to turn something off) 😠

Laska2Meryls · 24/07/2020 09:44

Baujken dress is fab but it will get me oin all the wrong places sadly as I am busty but slim hips !

Laska2Meryls · 24/07/2020 09:45

And my grey is patchy sadly nothing like that model.. Thats why I pink it !!

Railingsohno · 24/07/2020 09:46

@neveradullmoment99 yes she’s beautiful. As a company I really like their eco credentials and they use a lot of less conventional models too which I like.

I was looking at Massimo Dutti last night. I absolutely love their clothes. They don’t really suit my lifestyle though as they’re much more formal thank my life! They’re sexier than Toast which may or may not be a good thing. Shapes are quite masculine which I like.

This is quite Toast

They have a lot of linen too.

Yes it’s not the most flattering dress as I carry my weight on my upper arms and have big shoulders. I’m slim for me at the moment though so just manage to pull it off! It would be amazing on a pear shape!
Railingsohno · 24/07/2020 09:49

@Laska2Meryls love that you pink it!

faustina · 24/07/2020 11:25

I think they've stopped the Kindred thing? You can buy a Toast pass instead or something. Anyway - about discounts: there's usually a 20% off the new collection a few times a year. I am counting on it to buy an eye wateringly expensive rain hat and perhaps some more bedlinen

DameCelia · 24/07/2020 12:14

😞😞😞 I bought the silk spot dress in the sale, got a bargain at £135 instead of £345, they only had a 12 which I thought would be fine, I'm usually a 12 in Toast. But it's too small 😭.
Do we think it's worth me calling them on the off chance they still have a 14 hanging about? Or anywhere else I can try?
I need it for a v smart military event in August, will need hat and shoes as well.
Any suggestions for alternative dresses?
I'm 5' 6", large of nork, small waist, with silver (metallic but natural) hair.

DameCelia · 24/07/2020 12:16

Forgot to say, I love this thread! And thank you for any help you may be able to give.

Mine is still working at the moment - I think I got an email to say it has been extended until March 2021... not sure... ah well I will take advantage of the free P&P while I can. With distance selling regulations P&P can be refunded if the order is returned/cancelled within 7 days anyway. Thanks for the heads for the 20% discount. Hopefully there will be one in a couple of months.

I wonder if it is worth phoning around a few of the stores as they may post out to you and you can return the 12?
AuldFox · 24/07/2020 12:31

@DameCelia definitely call Toast there may be a return.

I got my chequerboard dress from JL, I needn’t have worried about fitting into the 12. The photos on the model look quite fitted at waist but the actual dress is so roomy, I could have squeezed into the 10. I will keep the 12 though and wear cinched in at the waist. Love it!

I have disturbingly fallen in love with about 6 items in the new autumn collection.

Must..... Resist.....

AFingerofFudge · 24/07/2020 12:41

@faustina are you looking at the Beton Cire rain hat?? If so, I have my eye on it too. But I have a very large head and lots of hats just perch on the top which is really annoying as I wanted to buy their summer hat with the orange chin ties but think it would have been too small reading the reviews 😕

Saurus72 · 24/07/2020 12:44

@DameCelia Ah I’ve ordered that dress too, should be here tomorrow. Really not sure on sizing as I read the reviews that said the bodice was very small, so I sized up. Don’t honestly have very high expectations but like you, couldn’t resist such a bargain! The colour is probably the biggest concern, looks bright and I think will either look fab or disastrous - I’m pale and mousey blonde.

Also, not really sure about shoes/boots.

DameCelia · 24/07/2020 12:58

@Dottty and @AuldFox I've done the online chat and they said they had none in but I can keep asking. Phoning the stores is a brilliant idea, will definitely do that.
@Saurus72 the colour is beautiful, a slightly faded violet is the only way to describe it, and the spots are an old linen colour but not yellow. I'm making it sound like an old dishcloth aren't I?!
I think it would look great on your colouring.
As far as shoes I think it could work with flattish sandals or a wedge heel, but not the socks and sandals look they modelled it with 🙄 (why do they do that? Half the time the models look demented)
