Another "Which Dress?" please for autumn wedding.

Family wedding in October has been scaled down to a registry office. No longer bridesmaid so need something to wear. Did a big Reiss order - only one worth thinking about.

Please can I have opinions on all of these - any any good? Or should I keep looking? Oh, and goes without saying please excuse hair - need a cut though thank heavens I no longer dye it

Dress 1 Pink - saw on another poster's thread. DD (14yo) thinks it is horrible and not my style, makes me look old and not right for an October wedding. I rather liked it..... I can see it would be a shock for DD as I am not normally a pattern person (think the grey curls + pattern = too much).

Dress 2 Teal/Green Reiss - in the sale. DD likes it. I feel rather lovely in it. But am not sure if I like it cos it makes me look slim. Clueless as to what shoes I would wear with it (hate heels).

Dress 3 - My old Boden summer party staple. Not sure if right for an Oct wedding though.

Help oh wise-ones please.

Two!!

Bobbybobbins · 03/07/2020 21:20

The green dress wins by a mile! Also like dress 3 but maybe not for an autumn wedding. Don't think the pink does you any favours.

How about a shoe with a chunky heel? I find them more comfortable than a slim heel

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 03/07/2020 21:44

Green! Absolutely gorgeous. The first one looks too big and is pretty uninspiring; the third just looks like a summer evenings abroad sort of dress. The green is beautiful and looks amazing on you.

shinynewapple2020 · 03/07/2020 21:51

I remember seeing that pink dress on another thread - I think it's a lovely dress and it looks nice on you, but for an Autumn wedding hands down dress number 2 That's perfect.

pilates · 03/07/2020 22:01

The teal one from John Lewis but you do need at least a small heel. Would you wear a kitten heel?

luckylady22 · 03/07/2020 22:04

Definitely the teal one and it's a good colour for October wedding

pourmeanotherglass · 03/07/2020 22:06

I think this is the first time I've ever clicked on a style and beauty " which dress " thread and actually really liked all of them! I like 2 the best but would wear any of them.

yellowbluebell · 03/07/2020 22:18

3 looks amazing

AnnaSW1 · 03/07/2020 22:18

Dress 2!

EmmaC78 · 03/07/2020 22:22

Another vote for dress 2.

SundayReilly · 03/07/2020 22:37

The shape of dress 3
In the colours of dress 1.
You have a great figure and lovely hair.
Pinky shades suit you cinch in that waist and show off your figure
Oh and great shoes you need killer shoes for your wedding.

CuppaZa · 03/07/2020 22:38

Dress 2

wasgoingmadinthecountry · 04/07/2020 00:15

2- entirely with your dd on dress 1. I like 3 too but 2 is best for an autumn wedding. Love the colour and style on you.

Imtoooldforallthis · 04/07/2020 07:52

Something like this?

Thank you for shoe recommendations. I tried on a few already owned shoes last night - navy looks better than blue. The ones I have are not the right style. Have (as above) got a navy coat and a navy short blazer - so that will save an additional cover-up-purchase.

Black shoe boots looked wrong.

I shall have a look through and think.

Just to come back and thank the vipers for the support and advice.

I wore Dress 2. Bought a cropped tuxedo jacket as it fitted well with the slightly high-cut waistline of the dress. (And was only £20 odd from Amazon.) Wore some old patent ninewest heels lurking in the wardrobe. Felt great. Actually, mostly didn't necessarily feel great - just comfortable. Right for the time of year, the weather, the event. Dressed so I didn't have to think about it. Which was perfect.

Pics for those interested in the final result.

I really, really struggle with posh anywardrobe choices so thank you all that helped.

👍

Horsemad · 10/10/2020 19:14

I prefer dress 2 but tbh, I'm not sure any are suitable for an autumn wedding.

justanotherneighinparadise · 10/10/2020 19:15

I like the last one.

Horsemad · 10/10/2020 19:16

Oops, I see the wedding has already happened! 😆 Actually, I like it with the little cropped tux jacket you wore. 👍

DrDavidBanner · 10/10/2020 19:23

Oh wow the figure n yu! Envy

I like 2 and 3 but I think 2 would be better for the occassion

mocha78 · 10/10/2020 19:25

You look fantastic, perfect choice and tuxedo jacket highlights your lovely waist.
