Hello!

There used to be a lovely what are you wearing today? thread(s) on here for people who were plus size (circa 16/18 and up I think).

Could anyone tell me if they've seen one lately please? If there isn't one on the go, would anyone be interested in joining me on here?

I'm size 16/18. Today I'm in a New Look floral dress and DM boots. Pic attached (hopefully).

That’s a nice dress!

LadyPrigsbottom · 27/06/2020 10:26

@WanderingTrolley1, all of your dresses (and your legs) are so lovely! I am completely Envy.

@sonjadog, another pair of AMAZING dungarees. You are the queen of the dungas!!

@Maverick66, I also love this thread! I have also gained a lot of weight recently and am the heaviest I have been. But I can still have nice clothes ha Grin! I'm also trying to lose weight, but finding it very difficult to stick to anything. Entirely my own fault and I must keep trying.

Here I am in a loungewear set from Uniqlo and yoga socks, (haven't done any yoga for about a month though, so feel a bit of a fraud)! Turquoise tee underneath is from Mountain Warehouse.

Just to clarify - that ha! was not to maverick! It was to the society which tries to tell me I can't look nice because I'm not small enough.

Thank you for such a great and inspiring thread, I've been following all the way through.

For those of you who are 5'11 or taller, where do you get your maxi dresses from? I am 5'11 and a size 20/22 on the bottom and an 18 on top. I carry all my weight on my thighs and legs. I love maxi dresses and I think they suit me but they are never long enough on me and end up being more midi length which doesn't suit me and my legs and ankles are huge so I hate having them on display.

LadyPrigsbottom · 27/06/2020 10:49

@snaxinyourslacks, I am only 5'8", but I have bought some things from Asos Design Tall and they come up very long. They also tell you how tall the model is in the pics. I know they go up to a 20 in tall range in some things.

snaxinyourslacks · 27/06/2020 10:53

Thanks @LadyPrigsbottom . I'll take a look, ASOS has never really been on my radar.

WanderingTrolley1 · 27/06/2020 10:58

That’s nice of you to say, Lady. I love those socks! Might have to find me some...

I’m also the heaviest I’ve ever been (over 14st), but am finding it so hard to motivate myself. Would need to lose 4 stone to get back to a happy weight; depressing.

AteAllTheAfterEights · 27/06/2020 11:44

Can I join? Today is denim dress from studio 8 (phase 8) in size 18 and saltwater sandals. I’ve been living in pjs and leggings so trying to make more effort...

Welcome @AteAllTheAfterEights Smile!

Love the dress. I'm trying to make some more effort as well. Even today, although I'm in loungewear stuff, it's a nice, new coordinated set, instead of my see through old tie dye yoga leggings and giant tshirt combo which I have been rocking lately. It does feel much nicer. I have bought quite a few new clothes lately, so I might do a big wardrobe clear out this weekend to make way for all the new ones.

Love your outfit, Ate; so stylish!

buckeejit · 27/06/2020 12:56

I love that denim dress too. I'm in cropped salmon trousers from M&S when the local clearance shop was closing. Think this is the first time I've worn & hoping they'll be too big soon (optimistic), so looking forward some similar - love the gold buttons on the legs. An old gap top.

Has anyone managed to get to a capsule wardrobe? I've said this before but I think if I were to get to 10 t shirts, 10 trousers or whatever, life would be easier. Aim to do some decluttering today & get 5 wardrobe items out. I'm guilty of loving things that I know either colour of style wise just don't suit me.

buckeejit · 27/06/2020 12:57

Gah, pic - excuse filthy bathroom, about to get cleaned!

That's a great dress - I like those front pleats on dresses and tops.

My 100 Stars short kimono arrived today. It fits but obviously isn't as generous on me as it is on the lass in Mama Mia Grin I'm a 20-22 on top for a start (18-20 bottom half).

And it didn't work at all with what I was wearing when I tried it on. Need to try other stuff with it.

But I really like it and at the very worst it will be absolutely perfect as a holiday cover-up.

(Speaking of which, I was actually meant to be flying to Greece today. Weep.)

LadyPrigsbottom · 27/06/2020 13:05

I also desperately need to tidy the house. Should do that before clearing out wardrobe tbh...

10 of each sounds like a good idea buckeejit. I don't actually think I'm far off that, but if I actually go through my wardrobe, I might find I have more than I thought 😬.

I have one size 12 skirt, which is too small, but very forgiving, so I can fit into it when I'm about a stone lighter than I am now. Things like that I never know whether to keep. Might do a stop gap clear out and put it in the loft rather than getting rid completely.

On the subject of capsule wardrobes, I’ve put on over a stone in lockdown so none of my old stuff fits. I realised living in leggings was making me miserable so I’ve ordered 6 dresses online to hopefully see me through summer with these sandals. I find dresses (with chub rub shorts under) much easier than separates

Suzie6789 · 27/06/2020 13:16

What a superb thread, you’ve inspired me to do better with my clothes!
I’m very unhappy with my weight and I’ve put more on in lockdown as shielding. I’m 5’9 and size 22 top and now 22/24 bottom. Got knee length black cargo shorts, and long linen leaf print top bottom from George.

sonjadog · 27/06/2020 13:16

I really like that denim dress. I will check out Studio 8. Have you bought it recently?

Here, Sonja!

WanderingTrolley1 · 27/06/2020 13:23

It’s lovely, but I can’t justify the price tag at the moment.

StCharlotte · 27/06/2020 13:32

Damn you AteAllTheAfterEights! Now I'm all over the Saltwater site. Which ones are you wearing? Are they a generous width or should I get the Classic (adjustable)?

(Or should I actually forget I ever saw them!)

LadyPrigsbottom · 27/06/2020 13:36

I might have to hide my own thread before I empty my bank account GrinWink. Too many lovely things. Sonja's amazing dungarees are on my mind too much.

It arrived yesterday so definitely current! I said saltwater sandals but totally meant seasalt the style is ‘chapel down’ really comfy

buckeejit · 27/06/2020 14:01

This is a bit niche but I'd really like a dress with lobsters on it, or crabs, or even a third place to prawns. Failing that something decidedly nautical. I'm also fussy on colours but if anyone sees anything that might fit the bill in size 20, please holler!

sonjadog · 27/06/2020 14:01

It looks great! What is the material like? Could it be worn in the autumn with tights or would it be too light? I am thinking it could might be a good for work too...

sonjadog · 27/06/2020 14:02

Also, what is the sizing like? I don't know that brand. Do you size up/down/same as usual?
