Hello!

There used to be a lovely what are you wearing today? thread(s) on here for people who were plus size (circa 16/18 and up I think).

Could anyone tell me if they've seen one lately please? If there isn't one on the go, would anyone be interested in joining me on here?

I'm size 16/18. Today I'm in a New Look floral dress and DM boots. Pic attached (hopefully).

I love your outfit @Myshitisreal, and its nice to know I'm not alone with my DM ruined ankles at the moment.

StCharlotte · 11/08/2020 08:46

Navy cigarette trousers and navy sleeveless shirt I bought in 1993 - bingo wings be damned!

I've bought so many new clothes this year so why aren't I wearing them? Hmm

Peachypips78 · 11/08/2020 08:50

Today we are in head-to-toe Tesco Grin . Top size 12 but I am def not a 12!!!! Shorts size 14 but very stretchy.
Loving yesterday's outfits everyone.

@Peachypips78 love the colour top and the lipstick!

Today I am wearing a floaty cotton dress which is huge, shapeless and wonderfulGrin I bought it yesterday and even though it has sleeves it is supercool so far. We will see how it fares when we go over 30 degrees in a few hours time.

LadyPrigsbottom · 11/08/2020 12:19

Love the new pinnie, beautiful colours and chic dress by sonja, peachy and living!

Look out lads, it's me in a swim suit! The world may not be ready for this photo, but frankly, I refuse to wear anything else this afternoon. We have been to the park this morning, where I wore a leopard print skirt, navy slogan tee and grey slip on trainer things. Planning to spend the rest of the day in the paddling pool.

Tankini top: Bravissimo (I think)
Bottoms: Lands End

@StCharlotte, I agree with the nice new clothes thing. Might as well wear them for trips to the park in my case, as there isn't anywhere else to wear them!

@poorremus, I love a floaty, shapeless, tent of a dress! Best thing for this weather.

I have a couple of party dresses I bought in the sales after xmas, as there were some big parties in the calendar for various family events this year. It's sad that they have now all been cancelled. Mr LDGUK has suggested we just get dressed up one Saturday evening after the little one is in bed, drink wine, and dance around the kitchen :D

LadyPrigsbottom · 11/08/2020 12:32

Sounds fab living! All the events I thought I'd be going to seem to be being postponed left, right and centre, as the penny slowly drops that this is going to be going on for a while Sad.

A dance round the kitchen with wine sounds fun. Mine don't go to bed till quite late at the moment, due to the heat and long days. When school starts up though, I think some kitchen parties are on the cards for DH and me! He hates dancing, but I will twerk in his general vicinity until it gets awkward and he either joins in or leaves the room Grin.

@LordOfTheOnionRings I like bright lipstick as I feel it draws attention away from other things! MAC lipsticks are the best colours. I love earrings and lipsticks.

@poorremus can we see the floaty dress?

LOVELY swimming costume @LadyPrigsbottom- you've got it so flaunt it Grin

I think we should all just wear our fancy clothes every day- I've stopped punishing myself for being overweight by wearing shit clothes to cover myself up! We might not get the chance this year to wear our finery. We bought a disco light for our kitchen for our Friday night kitchen disco!

I tried twerking and my 12 yr old curled up and died and forbade me from ever doing it again GrinGrin

LivingDeadGirlUK · 11/08/2020 17:11

I was going to suggest a thread theme 'dress up Friday' but if this heat stays like this you aren't going to get me in more than a cotton dress sans bra.

LadyPrigsbottom · 11/08/2020 17:25

Omg yes, we can definitely do a dress up day, if anyone else is up for it? Maybe not this Friday due to the bastard heat wave, but maybe from next Friday? It wouldn't have to be ball gowns or anything, just a bit more effort and fancy dresses / outfits if you wish?

OP posts:
LadyPrigsbottom · 11/08/2020 17:27

@Peachypips78 and @StCharlotte Grin!

And twerking on dress up day would be optional!

OP posts:
poorremus · 11/08/2020 17:31

@Peachypips78 your wish is my command! It really is exactly as described, but it's SO perfect for this heat.

Love it @poorremus! May I ask where it's from please? Realising today, that I need exactly that dress, please and thank you Grin.

It’s hot hot hot!

I’m about to go for my 3rd swim of the day.

Second outfit - floral jumpsuit - charity shop - size XXL apparently.

Beach bag is Hobbs and charity shop too.

Love the idea of dressing up and thanks @Peachypips78 for the lipstick tip. I like a red lipstick but not sure what other bright colours to get.

Oh @JerseyMermaid! I'm so Envy of your swims! Sounds wonderful. I had to make do with the paddling pool and cold showers, which did the job, but isn't half as romantic.

Glad you are up for a dress up day Smile!

Peachypips78 · 11/08/2020 20:42

@poorremus I love that dress! It's beautiful and very flattering. Are you wearing with sandals and bare legs?

Where are you @JerseyMermaid? I'm in Devon and thank God I live here everyday especially during lockdown.

JerseyMermaid · 11/08/2020 22:19

I’m in Jersey!
And ditto, so thankful to live here. Our borders are now open again but everyone is tested on arrival. We are now in level 1 of our exit strategy, so life is almost back to normal.
I’m a swimmer, it’s what I do & cant imagine not living by the sea.

poorremus · 12/08/2020 00:26

@LadyPrigsbottom it's from a clothing co. called Fenella. Hadn't heard of them before - but they are in various floaty boutiquey-type shops and online. I was just walking past a shop in an unfamiliar high street, saw it and got it on impulse.

@Peachypips78 yes, bare legs and sandals all the way Smile

I can tell you it stood up to the challenge of the day very well - I wasn't sure about something with sleeves today but it did well!

JerseyMermaid · 12/08/2020 06:58

@poorremus I like that dress & had a little look at their website.

Someone was telling me about Bombshell dresses a few days ago. A different style but some fab dresses that I suspect would be really flattering. Pricy though.

BestIsWest · 12/08/2020 08:23

I adore Jersey Jerseymaid. Spent our honeymoon there and took the kids back many times over the years. You’re very lucky.
