How much has your hair grown in lockdown?

Just a bored musing really. I had my hair cut 2 weeks before lockdown started and I cannot believe how much it has grown! I’m considering growing it back, it used to be very long.

My eyebrows are well on the way to being something they resembled before the 90’s too 🤣😂

How is everybody else fairing?

From just about able to get it in a tiny pony tail held at the side with hairgrips to two low bunches

My grey is coming through too but it's blending with old blonde highlights and I might even leave it alone

Belfastian · 11/06/2020 00:52

My hair has grown so much this lockdown. Sadly not as much as my arse has.

AnnaNimmity · 11/06/2020 07:05

Mine's grown loads too - I've actually got a set of hairdressers scissors etc and my dd is going to cut it. Luckily I have no grey so it's ok colourwise, but the ends definitely need a trim (I have long hair).

MulberryPeony · 11/06/2020 07:44

Loads but I was growing it for the little princess trust anyway so they can just have a longer donation when I eventually get around to it.

ExpletiveDelighted · 11/06/2020 07:53

About 2 inches, I last had it cut on 21 Mar. It was just under the jaw and now it's on my shoulders, side swept fringe has gone from top of cheekbone to side of mouth. It's wavy and hasn't lost it's shape, I don't colour it so I'm in no rush back to the salon, I think I'll grow it longer again.

RaptorInaPorkPieHat · 11/06/2020 14:09

Cocolapew That is so long! mine has grown in an upward direction Grin

I caved last night and trimmed it around the ears and the back (DD helped). It looks so much better for it (less mullet more bowl now Wink)

Cocolapew · 11/06/2020 14:15

Grin I can't believe it myself, it just shows how much I used to snip away at it then act surprised it wasn't growing Blush
Dumping the bleach also helped. I have a rogue growing bit at the back that insists on sticking straight out.

StillThatBitch · 11/06/2020 14:18

Mine has gone from a pixie cut to an almost chin length bob. Luckily I'd decided to grow it out anyway! It used to need a cut every 4-5 weeks as it grows very quickly. I'll probably continue letting it grow

Lockdownhairdontcare · 11/06/2020 19:13

This was me on March 19th v Yesterday. My hair was cut on March 15th.

I have cut my self a fringe during lockdown!

@cocolapew your hair is a lovely colour!!

Starlightstarbright1 · 11/06/2020 19:29

Mine has grown considerably but I have not blown dried or straightened my hair hoping to improve the condition

Northernsoullover · 11/06/2020 19:32

About 2 inches according to my roots. I always let it dry naturally though and don't heat treat it so its holding its own.

TheFormerPorpentiaScamander · 11/06/2020 19:34

Mine hasnt. It was in such bad condition and well overdue a decent cut. I cut an inch off today and it already feels a lot better.

Cocolapew · 11/06/2020 19:47

@YouStupidBoy thank you!

Ladyface · 11/06/2020 20:29

This was 3 weeks ago. My hair was very dry from all the bleaching and now it’s a lot healthier. I’m seriously considering not bleaching it again and just getting it cut. The roots though...

Mine is curly so the length isnt an issue, I have had to cut my fringe though as it was getting in my eyes, I don't think I did a bad job so probably won't be rushing to the hairdresser every six weeks post lockdown.
Also taken to forgoing makeup as you can see Blush

@Lockdownhairdontcare

Wow you did really well! Your fringe looks fab

bookwormlady · 11/06/2020 20:47

My hair was just past my shoulders and now it's about an inch and a half to two inches longer. I'm 50 but have decided to stick with long hair and just get a tiny trim when the hairdressers open.

I've got lots of grey in my roots. I'm using a wash out colour shampoo and a root concealer. I can't wait to get it dyed at the hairdressers.

Mnthrowaway20202 · 11/06/2020 21:26

I used to have blonde highlights/money pieces right up to my parting, the blonde is now at eye level! Luckily I can pass it off as a kind-of balayage as there isn’t a harsh line.

I have been trimming it to keep it as blunt as possible, so overall it isn’t that much longer. It’s still bizarre though - this time last year I had a bob and now it’s about 3 inches past my shoulders; I’m still getting used to longer hair. Think I’ll go back to the bob once salons open.

Hellhath · 11/06/2020 23:05

Mine has grown a good two inches and I have what I'm calling reverse roots; I've been using brown root touch up on my parting and crown but the ends are a strange sun lightened gingery blonde.
Under the layers are my grey roots. It's an interesting combination.
I'm taking comfort from the fact that I've never seen so much grey before and it's actually a really nice bright white, so when I take the plunge and go grey it should be nice.

Bigoldwimp · 11/06/2020 23:09

About 1/2 a stone ;)

JellyfishandShells · 11/06/2020 23:11

I managed to plait mine yesterday - this was not a good look.

Chochito · 11/06/2020 23:51

Mine has shrunk!

PickAChew · 11/06/2020 23:56

Almost exactly the same as yours. I'm due a cut about now, as I prefer to wear it wavy/curly, which takes off a fair bit of length and only need 3 monthly cuts.

I'm acceptingvyhat I may need to keep it in a ponytail for a whole, as it's almost an hour on the bus to my hairdresser and, until I can use a loo, when I get off the bus or before I head home, that journey won't be happening.

Popc0rn · 12/06/2020 00:13

Mine has grown from about armpit to boob length, I want to chop it all off and have a bob pretty much like yours @MummyGoingItAlone!

Is your undercut at the nape of your neck? I've been thinking about asking for one there as my hair is so thick, thought it might make it easier to style?
