Sadly QueenoftheAndals has decided to bow out and not create any more Royal Style and Beauty threads SadSadSad
I'm really hoping she'll reconsider.
Are any of the regular posters interested in continuing her great work ?

Yay, a new thread! Thank you Queen for all the previous ones, and best wishes for your life without SM! Thanks @LadyEloise for starting this up again.

Speaking of trust has anyone seen fergies post on Instagram about sarah's trust

instagram not that this makes it much clearer odd timing to launch a foundation for multiple reasons. Also not sure why another foundation is needed but maybe I'm missing something?

mogloveseggs · 04/06/2020 08:46

It was a very vague video wasn't it

I wish I looked as effortlessly stylish on a bike as Max!

TeaAndHobnob · 04/06/2020 11:17
I really like her more casual looks. She really suits a fedora Smile
LadyEloise · 04/06/2020 13:12

What is Fergie launching a new charity for ?

@LadyEloise

What is Fergie launching a new charity for ?
She needs the money to pay Her Maj off for rescuing their skiing chalet. Remember Andy used to get a percentage of all the deals/business created by Pitch at the Palace, apparently a charitable organisation.
AdaColeman · 04/06/2020 13:26

Allegedly of course.

justasking111 · 04/06/2020 14:14

Am very suspicious of foundations since reading the Clintons claimed everything but the kitchen sink from theirs. Gawd knows what this foundation is about far too much clacking of crystals and inhaling scented candles there.

AdaColeman · 04/06/2020 14:36

To make up for my little deviation from fashion above...

Not long after the Windsor wedding Mainbocher closed their Paris atelier and returned to America, as war was looming in Europe.

Mainbocher had specialised in evening wear, but as difficulties with fabric supplies increased during the war, the firm developed the short evening dress, or cocktail dress as it was named.

They also developed the Cocktail Apron, not for waitresses though! These aprons were more like half skirts, in luxury fabrics with embellishments such as fabric flowers. You wore them to enhance dresses you already owned, so saving fabric but still having a variety of glamorous evening clothes.

Sadly, the Cocktail Apron never really caught on.

SenecaFallsRedux · 04/06/2020 15:33

That's fascinating about Mainbocher.

Perhaps it didn't catch on because it was really a peplum, to my mind a difficult look to carry off unless you are very slim indeed.

AdaColeman · 04/06/2020 16:26

Yes, I agree with what you say about the peplum shape being difficult to wear. Though some of the cocktail aprons were slightly longer and more softly draped than the one in the photograph.

I think they were an interesting response to the constraints of the times. I can imagine them working with a plain narrow cut black evening dress.
I think the Met has one or two in its Mainbocher collection.

LadyEloise · 04/06/2020 17:24

I'd say like the cocktail apron, the new charity won't catch on either.
Is SF deluded. Does she not realise her ex dh's name is mud now after the Epstein affair.

OP posts:
Gonegrey31 · 04/06/2020 17:36

And SF took money herself from Epstein.
The name of her new charity is risible.

itswinetime · 04/06/2020 18:02

I think several of her posts on Instagram have suggested she hasn't or doesn't want to grasp the reality of the situation!

I agree the name is odd and cringeworthy. I also can't understand what a foundation can accomplish that can't be done the old fashioned royal way. She's been very active in general on Instagram this whole lockdown I can't help feeling this is all a re branding of the York family playing out!

It's the girls I feel for their parents are so desperate to cling on to their status they just keep making things worse!

hopeishere · 04/06/2020 18:26

On a tangent I saw that clip on insta of Diana on a boat hugging the boys. But I never realised until I watched the whole thing that Charles was behind her and give the boys as big hugs as she does.

Did Her Maj sort the chalet situation?

You favourite darker blue dress?

L to R, top to bottom:
Jenny Packham with black middle
Jenny Packham dress with collar (Canada)
Emilia Wickstead dress with belt
Eponine coat dress with buttons and belt

mogloveseggs · 05/06/2020 15:47

I like the Emilia one, but I think it's because she looks very happy and carefree

Horsemad · 05/06/2020 16:18

Jenny Packham with collar. Tres chic! 🙂

paradyning · 05/06/2020 16:38

The pencil shift shape suits Kate so well. Much better than the flippy skirts. She looks great in that dark blue as well.

BlingLoving · 05/06/2020 16:57

Unfortunately I think that Fergie really just isn't very smart. She is also absolutely unable to see Andrew for anything but what he says he is. If she was posting in relationships it would be:

"Poor DH is being hounded by everyone because they think that he's done all kinds of things like sleep with underage girls and associate with paedophiles. But he's explained to me that the evidence against him is entirely fake and that of course he didn't know that the paedophile was a bad guy. He was only friends with him because he introduced him to all kind of useful people. And he's such a nice man who is just so focused on his own business of course he didn't notice the endless number of young girls wondering around this man's house.

Meanwhile, the police are trying to get him to make statements and the media keep splashing his photo around so that his family business has been forced to let him go. He's not able to get any income from it and while MIL is helping where she can, she's worried that anything she does will reflect badly on the business.

AIBU to go out there and just try to rehabilitate his image myself and also raise some money to help us to survive?"

SilkandSandwiches · 05/06/2020 16:59

Canada dress for my taste.

Contrary to most, I really liked the idea of her dress at Pippa's wedding, and I think she can wear a v neck well. The major problem was the excess fabric underneath her breasts. If it had fitted better there, it would have made a huge difference. The colour I was fine with - I think that shade of dusky pink suits her well, and I do like that style of dress, but I am often rather old fashioned.

Bellevu · 05/06/2020 17:06

MM has given us some royal style this week via a video to her high school for those graduating.

She does simple really well but I'm not sure about white (personal issues since everytime I look at pale colours they turn grubby before I even put the item on) and the sticky bits of the bracelet were distracting.

mathanxiety · 05/06/2020 18:08

I like the Canada dress too.

Overall though, I find that shade of blue rather harsh, or cold.

I suspect Meghan chose white for her virtual graduation speech as it's the colour the young women wear for graduation at her former high school.

Bellevu · 05/06/2020 18:14

Pictures would be helpful!
