Sadly QueenoftheAndals has decided to bow out and not create any more Royal Style and Beauty threads SadSadSad
I'm really hoping she'll reconsider.
Are any of the regular posters interested in continuing her great work ?

I hope Sophie keeps her hair long.

I don't think Kate read the memo about putting ten pounds on during lockdown Grin
She looked lovely in the garden centre pics, the dress print reminds me of some of Diana's dresses from the 80s.

AdaColeman · 28/06/2020 16:33

I think Kate looks super in her pretty lilac floral frock, very summery and just right for a visit to The Nook hospice. I think she suits the deep V neck line, and I like her unfussy hair style too.

Queen Victoria was crowned on this day in 1838.
She was a fashion leader in her day, popularising the wearing of white wedding dresses, and she supported British textiles such as Spitalfields silk and Honiton lace.

Hope the weather was nicer Smile
And don't forget QV also influenced the upper class & then wider society to have chloroform whilst giving birth

Princess Eugenie marked International Scoliosis Awareness Day (yesterday) by posting a photo of her scar

I really like Eugenie the RF should use her more.

Horsemad · 28/06/2020 20:02

That's a VERY neat scar! I have a similar sized one on my back (not scoliosis) and whilst it's not bad, it's nowhere near as neat and tidy as Eugenie's. 🙂

Victoria & Albert were a true love match though I didn't realise that she was nearly 3 months older than him. Not that it matters.
But poor woman losing her husband at 42.

Tongue in cheek if Beyonce is known as Queen Bey & her fans are The BeyHive, does that make me a member of The VeeHive seeing I'm a big Queen Victoria fan Grin

thisenglishlife · 29/06/2020 15:24

😂

Queen Victoria's name was Alexandrina Victoria, so you could be one of Alexandrina's Angels or Victoria's Vixens?

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 29/06/2020 16:04

Ooh decisions decisions Vixen or Angel 😂

thisenglishlife · 30/06/2020 10:26

Summer tan

Do you think that Kate has a replica of the Diana sapphire ring that she wears to some engagements (like this one - due to the gardening)?

AppleKatie · 30/06/2020 10:33

She looks like her mum in that picture

LadyEloise · 30/06/2020 10:58

Lovely photo of Kate but the emphasis on eyebrows means the lovely eyes are secondary.
I don't understand that on anybody.

Horsemad · 30/06/2020 11:06

Wow, can't get over how much like her mum she looks in this picture. Those eyebrows again though... 🤨

thisenglishlife · 30/06/2020 12:42

She actually has nice natural eyebrows under the product.

Horsemad · 30/06/2020 13:22

She does - the way she has them currently really ages her, imo.

MotherofPearl · 30/06/2020 13:40

I'm also not a fan of the heavy eyebrows. What are they made of? I'm not keen on the tan either - sorry to be negative. The tan really ages her I think, and will end up wrecking her skin as tanning always does.

SenecaFallsRedux · 30/06/2020 13:50

I'd go for Vixen. I think Victoria herself was more vixen (in a good way) than angel.

Albert's early death was very sad on a public as well as personal level. I recently watched a documentary on him where he was referred to as "the best king Britain never had."

thisenglishlife · 30/06/2020 13:59

I go for Vixen too

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 01/07/2020 00:54

Well as the blasted dreaded lurgy has slowed the thread down a bit (pre dreaded lurgy the threads were like express trains!) just wondering what your favourite royal names are or if you were Queen or King what would you call your children?

Girls: Victoria (of course), Alexandra or Alix, Olga & Maria. Possibly an Anastasia, Louisa/Luisa, Melita, Polyxena, Xenia & Zita included too.

Boys: Louis, George & Alexander with an Ernest & Albert included too.

P.S. I bet our Xenia with an island would be pleased to see her name included.

Horsemad · 01/07/2020 07:17

I like Victoria and Alexandra. Louis, Charles and Alexander for boys. 🙂

AppleKatie · 01/07/2020 10:52

Anastasia, Louisa, Charlotte for girls and Alexander, Louis and Arthur for boys would be my choices.

Although that’s not enough is it, you’d need 3/4 per child, and frankly with access to that sort of cash, medical care and nannies I’d want at least 3.

LaureBerthaud · 01/07/2020 11:49

How would you feel if Kate adopted a stream lined working wardrobe similar to the royal men? So the princes and dukes turn up in the same expensive suits, get the job done and avoid the scruntiny Kate, Meghan et al do.

So if you were - like Kate - very tall, very slim, took a pride in your appearance but weren't passionate about clothes (ok I've lost some of you there Grin), and prioritised other things (kids, fitness, duties, husband) over being a fashion icon you could have a staple of stylish suits and dresses and wear them frequently so it becomes about your work not your look.

I've had way too much time on my hands been thinking Kate could look at some of the stylish outfits Amal Clooney wears as she would look great in them. (I know AC sometimes goes for the kooky look and is the antithesis to a pared back wardrobe!)
