Sadly QueenoftheAndals has decided to bow out and not create any more Royal Style and Beauty threads SadSadSad
I'm really hoping she'll reconsider.
Are any of the regular posters interested in continuing her great work ?

Satin is a weave, not a material, so different fibres can be woven into satin weave. It makes the finished fabric shinier.

I would have placed CPVs dress as Ida Sjöstedt without looking so good thing Motherofpearl answered haha. Very similar style!

Tootreeticki · 19/06/2020 19:01

Kate's garden center clothes are very me. Superga trainers (various colours, washed in washing machine on rotation, the more "patina" the better", a trusty shirt and jeans from a brand you have figured out the sizing of and can buy online. Gilet fab for: pockets for phone, dog treats, poo bag, lip balm, car key, stuff. Perfect for garden centre.

AngelaScandal · 19/06/2020 19:45

I really do have a girl crush on CPV.
Wildflower dress? Adore
Wildflower dress hair? Love
Wedding picture? Have you ever seen a happier bride

MotherofPearl · 19/06/2020 20:18

Oh yes Banivani, I see what you mean about satin. Blush It's obvious now I think about it.

thisenglishlife · 19/06/2020 20:34

One article that said satin is a weave rather than a material also says: If a fabric is formed with a satin weave using filament fibres such as silk, polyester or nylon, the corresponding fabric is termed a satin, although some definitions insist that the fabric be made from silk. If the yarns used are short-staple yarns such as cotton, the fabric formed is considered a sateen. So her cotton majority satin trousers would be a sateen? Lol.

Horsemad · 19/06/2020 21:57

Sophie looks great in that pic @MotherofPearl, she suits red. Not sure about Kate's shoes, the rest is ok for outdoorsy stuff, I suppose.

QuietFlame · 19/06/2020 22:26

Sophie looks great,I think she is so underrated and it’s nice to see her
I love how animated Kate always looks!
I’m over those skinny trousers tbh but they are probably a practical option.
I’m not a fan of the colour scheme either, that mint green always reminds me of some boiled sweets, can’t remember the name unfortunately.

StartupRepair · 19/06/2020 23:05

Love cpv's wildflower dress. It is exquisite.

frugalkitty · 20/06/2020 07:15

Kate's outfit is very 'Norfolk' albeit an expensive version no doubt. I think it's a bit sludgey to be honest, not one of her best looks.

I do like CPVs flower dress, very pretty. I think she loves him more than he loves her though, I think he likes his position but I don't think he enjoys it. No idea why, just how it looks to me.

Horsemad · 20/06/2020 09:09

Chocolate limes @QuietFlame? 🙂

TSSDNCOP · 20/06/2020 10:05

As a whole I think Kate looks ok for a garden centre visit.

But can I take a moment to rant about my pet hate?

WHY WHY WHY must designers install a mid sleeve button and inside tab for purposes of sleeve rolling? Perfectly nice shirt RUINED by button and tab. If I want to roll a sleeve I am able to do so with out a stupid button and tab. When my sleeve is down I don't want a random button half way up my arm, it immediately signals I am the type that needs a button and tab.

I am not that type.

LadyEloise · 20/06/2020 10:43

TSSDNCOP
I agree re tabs. I always cut them off.
I'm left with a random button but hey ho Smile

Unstitch the button!

TSSDNCOP · 20/06/2020 14:28

I hear you PPs, but I want to stress I don't want to have to modify garments where they have been pointlessly over-engineered.

I have taken quite a dogmatic stance on this and as a consequence will not be darkening M&S's doors again. I'm certain that'll get the point over Wink

AngelaScandal · 20/06/2020 19:38

I am clapping like a barking seal at @TSSDNCOP. Pointlessly over-engineered garments are the bane of my life

QuietFlame · 20/06/2020 20:37

Chocolate limes indeed @ Horsemad

thisenglishlife · 20/06/2020 21:41

@TSSDNCOP I find that the tab/button things don't really hold the sleeves up that well or pleasantly.

TokyoSushi · 20/06/2020 22:22

Beautiful photos of William & the DC out for Fathers Day, I'm somebody more knowledgeable than me will be able to link them!

frugalkitty · 20/06/2020 22:34

From IG......I can't believe how much Louis looks like George!

TokyoSushi · 20/06/2020 22:35

Ah, it's because of William's birthday rather than fathers day, but still a fab photo!

AppleKatie · 20/06/2020 22:40

Lovely photo- they all look so relaxed and SO like William!

Cute denim dungarees on Princess Charlotte, I really like them but they are a departure from the kind of clothes she usually wears in these pictures I think?

latedecember1963 · 20/06/2020 22:49

Prince Louis has a look of Prince Edward as a child.
Gorgeous photo. 😍

itswinetime · 20/06/2020 23:07

Lovely photos it's nice to see Cambridge children in more relaxed clothing and it's great to see them having fun.

NoGravyForYou · 20/06/2020 23:12

When I first clicked into the photo and hadn't looked properly I thought it was an old one and Louis was George!

It's nice to see the kids in normal clothes. Loving Charlotte's dungarees!

RomaineCalm · 21/06/2020 00:33

That's just such a lovely family photo. 😍
