Sadly QueenoftheAndals has decided to bow out and not create any more Royal Style and Beauty threads
I'm really hoping she'll reconsider.

I love Beatrice's hats as she's not afraid to go big & mad.
She can certainly carry them off.
I even liked the toilet seat/giant pretzel one.

Bea suits hats. Imagine if you were royal (or married in) and didn't suit them! 😲😭
I never like myself in hats, always think they look strange on me!

Apparently, Beatrice never saw the hat she wore at W&K's wedding until the day before/the day of the wedding. Supposedly, she had been promised that a wonderful hat would be designed for her (she did not choose/pick out the hat).

Beatrice has since sold the hat on eBay and given the proceeds to charity. The hat sold for £80,000 and the proceeds went to UNICEF and Children in Crisis. Omid Scobie told Yahoo’s Royal Box: “She owned the moment I think."

Am I allowed to talk about MM? I think she suits big hats but I didn’t like her beret nor some of the small hats she wore, ie last year’s Trooping the Colour. I remember one big white floppy hat and she looked stunning.

littlepurpleflower I think it's ok to mention Meghan in the context of style. I can't compete with thisenglishlife's collages but here are some MM hats. I much prefer the bigger hats on her with the exception of the navy one in the middle row.

Thanks Romaine - the photo which is middle row left: that is my favourite Meghan look. Relaxed, classic, stunning. I can’t wear white as I get it dirty before I’ve even left the bedroom.

I like all of MM's hats! My top fave is top row first from the left.

Meghan carries off big hats brilliantly as they really suit her & frame her beautiful bone structure.

Actually I really respected how Bea took it in the chin re the toilet lid hat.

Also I think it was a Philip Treacy design and as he is Irish I felt a tad over invested in it. Like did he not put it on a human head before sending poor Bea out in it

I also think MM really suits hats. Though I like the large ones in many ways, her face is so delicate I feel the very large ones rather engulf her features. My favourite is the Jackie O style pillbox (bottom right).

I to was a bit for Philip Treacy re Bea's hat - not his finest moment.
But then he redeems himself when you see beautiful designs like the pink rose one for Kate and Camilla's wedding hat.

Ooooh, thanks English. I'm surprised by how many of those pillbox hats I like.

They look good on Sophie (especially bottom far left). I like the cream one of Kate's in the second big picture though its square shape looks a bit odd from the back.

Sophie looks great in the green dress with pillbox hat.
Eugenie's blue dress does nothing for her.
It's shapeless and the high neck doesn't suit her body shape.

I like Sophie's outfit in the top row, first left, she looks lovely.

DoC looks good in all those pillbox hats but I really like the brown one on her.

Sophie looks so good in that green dress.

I really like the brown hat on Kate in the last picture. Sophie looks good in the green but apart from that none of them really do it for me.

Nice behind the scenes photos of Sofia & Carl Phillip's wedding.
I think out of all the Royal Families the Scandinavian ones would be the easiest to slot into.
The Japanese the hardest & the British somewhere in the middle.

I actually don't think Diana looked good in any of those pillbox hats!

Oh! It’s taken me weeks and 13+ pages but I’ve found you all at last!

I was gutted when the last one finished so abruptly with Queens departure and looked a few times but never found the replacement thread. These threads showed me I have a (hugely unlikely if you know me in RL) fascination with Royal fashion and I’m pleased to be back.
