Just ordering myself a box from this outfit:

loststock.co/

No idea when it will arrive but I thought it looked good, ordered one for DH too (in "dark" and "plain", he's a boring sod).

Best is to raise a dispute via PayPal if you paid that way - they don't mess around and have been finding in the buyer's favour every time.

DiscontentedWoman · 21/08/2020 10:37

Mine arrived this morning with the ubiquitous grey vest. I got 3 sleeveless tops, of which one is ok. All 3 look to be Matalan. Crap

BullshitVivienne · 21/08/2020 14:46

Still waiting for mine. 4 months since I ordered.

Buggedandconfused · 21/08/2020 15:52

Anyone unhappy can request a full refund from Loststock or if you paid with PayPal, make a refund claim with them. Ditto with no delivery yet.

MissFitton · 21/08/2020 15:55

Still not arrived here either. Had a 'check your address' email on the 12th but nothing since. Ordered 30th May. Tbf I can hang on if it's just going to be Matalan vest tops... 🤷🏼‍♀️

tonsattingforbjudes · 25/08/2020 14:12

Updating in case this is useful to anyone. I ordered on 31st May. No notification of any impending delivery as of yesterday. So, given the mostly poor reviews and the fact that summer has gone/box still not appeared 12 weeks on, I emailed requesting a FULL refund.
Had an email back today saying I had been refunded. I was surprised as thought I might be up for a email battle.

SockYarn · 25/08/2020 14:16

@BullshitVivienne

Still waiting for mine. 4 months since I ordered.
Yup, still no news here either. I ordered 2 boxes, one for me and one for DD on 31st May. Not a whisper from them.

Saw a social media post saying that they would be updating early this week so we'll see what they have to say.

I was so on board with the idea behind this, it speaks to everything I believe in terms of hating fast fashion, buying second hand, stopping things going to landfill, but it has been SO poorly executed.

Such a shame.

tonsattingforbjudes · 25/08/2020 14:18

It really is a shame. I just hope the charitable donation side of the operation has worked better than distribution and quality of clothes!

GetUpAgain · 25/08/2020 15:51

I ordered 22 May and have had nothing except sporadic emails telling me what a great person I am and how hard their small team is working. I am tempted to cancel but would like to remain a customer so I can 'demand' more accountability re the charity donations, plus there is this stupid part of me thinking 'but I might get something different from what we have seen so far, it might be amazing'. This is why I don't gamble, I'm too optimistic.

HalleLouja · 25/08/2020 18:23

I left all the Lost Stock Fb groups after getting my refund. Are people still getting the same old items?

SockYarn · 26/08/2020 07:59

Have seen a couple of new things - a dreadful puffy sleeved, crop top, frilly necked "blouse" which would be perfect for serving beer at Oktoberfest.

If I get sleeveless tops and bias cut, slinky floor length dresses in my bag for a lumpy 40 something I shall not be impressed.

drspouse · 26/08/2020 09:28

I've just got a "watch out for a shipment" email. Hope it's not too puffy or slinky!

BullshitVivienne · 26/08/2020 21:28

I'm still waiting too. Don't know how I'm coping without my plain grey vest.

SockYarn · 26/08/2020 22:00

I've cancelled. 12 weeks waiting, still no news. Summer has been and gone.

10 out of 10 for the idea. 0 out of 10 for the actual execution of that idea.

WingingWonder · 26/08/2020 22:32

I have a massive issue with the fact they’re ilusing air freight
It’s literally never been more difficult to come by or expensive, so given we’ve all waited 8 weeks longer than probably expected, just sea freight it and donate 40% more to the project

Babamamananarama · 26/08/2020 23:08

Oh wow.
I didn't buy into this because it looked like a way to offload random shit stock and I'm glad of it now.

If the idea of a surprise box of clothes appeals to you, I can (with no affiliation) really recommend StitchFix. There's quite a lot of personal styling, a box appears once a month/quarter (your choice) containing a handpicked selection of clothes. You keep and pay for what you like and send back what you don't. It's been great for me and I've had some really nice pieces sent through that I wouldn't have found on my own.

I've been buying less and less clothing-wise and now try to buy a few high quality things rather than a high turnover of new stuff as I think it's more ecologically sound.

SockYarn · 26/08/2020 23:36

What appealed to me was the "keeping stuff out of landfill" angle, and the supporting workers who weren't getting paid. But to be brutally honest I was also lured in by mentions of big brands like Gap, and the promise of £70 worth of clothes.

What people have been getting in their boxes is not £70 worth of clothes. It's not Gap or even other similar brands. Lots of it is Matalan. Poor value, lots of it sleeveless and just a bit cheap really.

I'm sure the subscription boxes are great but that's not really what I was in this scheme for. However, they have refunded me - in full - without any quibbling so at least that's one thing they have learned over the last few weeks.

I do wish they'd stop saying they have 115k customers - they have taken 115k people's money, and delivered about 20k boxes.

@tonsattingforbjudes - how did you contact them for a refund?
SockYarn · 27/08/2020 07:50

Just email the support@ address with your order number.

TheoneandObi · 27/08/2020 09:11

Just recycled my three items to a charity shop. Oh well -
Hopefully my donations monetary and actual made a difference to someone...

Beamur · 27/08/2020 09:19

I got my box a couple of weeks ago. Ordered it for DD. Of the three items none were really quite her thing but nice enough quality. A friend bought one top off me, I swapped another item and kept one. Got sent another top by someone who didn't want it but happy to pass it on.
I think the scheme has perhaps been a mixed success. I don't think the items would have cost £70 retail though.

tonsattingforbjudes · 27/08/2020 13:41

@MissMarplesHandbag
As SockYarn says, you just need to email the support@loststock email. I simply replied to my order confirmation email from 31st May.

LipstickForADogwalk · 27/08/2020 15:20

I’ve just cancelled mine as well. Just received an email confirming my full refund. So disappointed in Lost Stock, really wanted to believe it was what it claimed to be

MissMarplesHandbag · 27/08/2020 21:06

Thanks all.
I had an email today saying my order will be packed next week. So I think I’ll just wait and see, and then inevitably recycle onto the charity shop.

Blep · 28/08/2020 04:22

I've received a full refund including the cost of delivery, which i was surprised by as the website says they won't refund delivery or the portion that was supposed to have gone to charity. Maybe it's because they've received so many complaints now and don't want to argue with everyone individually.
