Are you....Bored so buying loads (currently me) trying to nail that elusive perfect summer wardrobe so buying loads (me) staying at home not seeing anyone so not buying any? Saving tons of money waiting for the next season you'll be "seen"?!

OMG ILikeYourHairyHands I love Max Mara. I'd buy it all. Drooling over the crepe twill coat dress - very Katherine Hepburn.

pourmeanotherglass · 23/05/2020 09:09

Not bought anything yet, as I don't like ordering online I like to try things on. I don't need as many smart clothes as I'm only going to work 2-3 days per week.

Rainb0w · 23/05/2020 09:17

Not feeling particularly inspired picked a dress up in tesco the other week wore maybe three times and it's bobbly already I'm saving my clothes pot up and going to have a shop once this is all over.

RiftGibbon · 23/05/2020 09:32

As uninterested as usual. I am "at a festival" this weekend so all the bling, neon and hippy gear is out.
Might wear some next week just for the hell of it.

RomaineCalm · 23/05/2020 09:44

Not interested in clothes shopping at all at the moment. Pre-lockdown there were weekly parcels arriving with online purchases but haven't bought anything since then.

Partly it's being more conscious of finances but also a realisation that I just don't need any more clothes. I've been using the time to have a major clearout of my wardrobes and I'm horrified by the amount of 'duplicates' I have/had.

With nowhere to go I am living in shorts, vests, hoodies and the odd dress and it's fine!

BestIsWest · 23/05/2020 09:52

I’m only going to be filling holes I think. I’m only wearing jeans, T shirts and trainers and I can’t see us being back in the office for months. I may invest in some decent quality T shirts and a nice hoody and I have my eye on some yellow trainers.
I do fancy some dungarees though.

PersonaNonGarter · 23/05/2020 10:04

At first I had no appetite for clothes shopping and returned everything I bought. But as lockdown has gone on and it got warmer I have bought a few tops.

I am really aware that my criteria has changed and ‘look good on Zoom’ is a new and real consideration. Small patterns are out.

But generally I don’t really want lots more stuff. I am at home for the foreseeable - no dress code at all. For the first time in years I can choose what I want to wear all day every day without considering clients or boss.

I feel liberated (even though my work dress code was quite relaxed). Now I have to work out what my actual style looks like...

marriednotdead · 23/05/2020 10:10

I’ve lost interest tbh. Wearing what I can comfortably do up (I’ve gained half a stone, all round my middle).
Usually buy most of my stuff in charity shops and have it altered to fit my shape so I’m stymied at the moment as my non stretch stuff is too tight.
Had a quick look in Sainsbury’s but nothing appealed. Online clothes shopping is generally a disaster so I rarely do.
Am furloughed so dressing down but bored with what I have that still fits. Gah.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 23/05/2020 10:19

I’ve bought heaps of stuff Blush. It’s all casual - like a pp I didn’t have that much in the way of nice casual clothes. I’ve returned a fair bit of it. In the last 8 weeks I have bought:

3 bright linen vests from H&M
2 linen v neck t-shirts from H&M
A grey scoop neck linen top (H&M)
An orange seersucker floaty skirt, ankle-length (H&M)
Black denim high-waisted shorts (H&M)
Chambray midi skirt (Lee jeans)
Pale blue cropped wide-legged jeans (Topshop)
Navy Harry Potter hoodie (Amazon)
At least 3 bras, none of which fit, all of which are still waiting to be returned.

That’s just the stuff I’m keeping - I’ve returned a lot more!

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 23/05/2020 10:38

Now I just need to lose some weight and fit comfortably back into all my jeans and I’ll be golden.

drspouse · 23/05/2020 10:56

I've also bought two new pairs of slippers. The DCs have lost my gardening crocs so may need to look for something for that, hopefully a bit nicer than that off brand emergency pair.

woodhill · 23/05/2020 11:02

I did buy a top and bra in Debenhams.

While I'm at home I tend to wear my old stuff from other years. Rarely leave the house

woodhill · 23/05/2020 11:03

Online obviously😊

gingersausage · 23/05/2020 11:09

I just don’t care at the moment. The only thing I’ve bought recently is a pair of trainers I’d been coveting that I couldn’t afford, so when they popped up on eBay I grabbed them. Other than that I haven’t even looked at any clothing websites which is unlike me.

I got my summer clothes out last week and most of them were practically unworn, so I’m not in any rush to buy any more. Like PPs have said, I have way too many clothes already for my lifestyle.

TheHumansAreDefinitelyDead · 23/05/2020 13:03

I love having the right clothes for the right occasion, in terms of comfort and style

As I am now doing long walks every day, I have splurged on Hush girlfriend chinos as they are super comfy and breathable with a bit of stretch, perfect for hiking. They also fit nicely around the hips, no elasticated waist, don’t look boring, and wash well

So I now have 3 pairs Grin

I also hunted high and low for the perfect denim shorts: mid rise , not tight, real denim but with a tiny bit of stretch, not teenage-short, not Bermuda long.... I found them

All my pretty work clothes are hanging unloved at the back of my closet as I embrace my new middle aged hiking style....

GenuineKlatchianPottery · 23/05/2020 15:35

I’ve genuinely got nothing that fits, I donated all my clothes that no longer fit me at the start of the year, which left me with a couple of jumpers and 2 pairs of jeans. My plan was to get down to a 12/14 for Summer. It hasn’t happened and I’m still a 16Blush.
So this week I’ve ordered a load of cheapish things that should see me through to Autumn.
3 pairs of trousers, 2 dresses, denim jacket, 2 white shirts, 3 white t shirts, 2 pairs of sandals and a pair of mint green loafers. And 10 pairs of cotton granny knickers.
I’m overdue my eyes testing so as soon as I’m able I’ll be getting my new glasses and a haircut. I refuse to carry on looking like an old frump just because I’m a few sizes bigger than I’m used to being.

BobbinThreadbare123 · 23/05/2020 15:46

Tubby!
Got some new running trainers coming in the post....

Splodgetastic · 23/05/2020 15:53

Tight. I feel they are tight. I am rocking the boilersuits in the manner of a minor dictator. If it is really hot I am going for the Mediterranean granny look, bingo wings and all.

Ardnassa · 23/05/2020 19:12

I adore beautiful clothes. But spending all day at home means I can no longer escape the realisation that I have so many. So have stopped buying (and sold some stuff) as the thought of adding to the several wardrobes' worth of clothes ( which all "spark joy" at least) is just too much.

notonmywatchyouwont · 23/05/2020 20:06

Mediterranean granny look, bingo wings and all.

😂

Basically buying anything rainbow themed. I love rainbows.. got rainbow shoes, cardi, nightie, bracelet. Can you tell I'm furloughed and bored?

drspouse · 23/05/2020 20:49

My DS HT has a great rainbow T-Shirt but I can't ask her where she got it, can I?

Blankscreen · 23/05/2020 23:23

I'm not feeling the clothes love at the moment I don't really see what the point is of buying anything new.

I need some new t shirts but I hate buying clothes online so won't bother unless the shops open.

I really could do with some new exercise clothes so will get some of those.

Rainallnight · 23/05/2020 23:32

I’ve lost interest and I LOVE clothes. I’m temporarily a SAHM, my mum has just died, I’m in lockdown and I’ve put on lockdown weight. There’s no point.

Rainallnight · 23/05/2020 23:33

But now that I see that written down, maybe I’d feel better if I had some nice new clothes? The weight thing is a problem, though.
