@KiteflyingKat when I was 13 we all wore those wide leg jeans similar to Coles with acid house smiley face hoodies!! And desert boots or white Reeboks. A long time ago.
The Coles suit you @toastfiend.

@MerlinsButler I love jewellery, usually wear silver but now I'm starting to wear more gold. I've got an antique real gold necklace that I wear, the rest of my 'gold' jewellery is actually gold plated on sterling silver from either Debenhams or Accessorize usually.
I've noticed a lot of the more expensive fashionable brands such as Missoma & Monica Vinader mainly make jewellery that is gold plated / vermeil on sterling silver too.

So I've been looking for brands that make real gold jewellery that's in style.
So far I've discovered Drajee of London who make a nice 18ct gold Hamsa bracelet. Thinking about treating myself.
Having said that, a lot of the plated jewellery does seem to stay looking nice I find. I just would rather not spend £££s on plate.

@MerlinsButler - I also notice people’s jewellery and think it’s something I could pay more attention to. I don’t really know where to start though.

It’s humid here - rain forecast later. I’m in my new Jigsaw jeans again (they are the Hamptons @Sooverthemill - I love the fit).

Shirt: Boden
Belt: Mint Velvet
Jeans: Jigsaw
Trainers: Jigsaw

@Sickoffamilydrama - I meant to wish you luck with enforcing your design. I do (reluctantly) handle design work - it’s complicated as there are 4 types of overlapping rights in the U.K. (and likely to be worse after Brexit which is going to really mess up the way unregistered rights operate). I’ve heard good things about using the IPEC for designs. It can handle both registered and unregistered rights, which is helpful - because otherwise you’re stuck with enforcing the registered rights before the Patents Court and the unregistered rights before the Chancery Court. Which doubles the work and the cost.

So Percy the dog is in vet hospital, long dull frustrating story not helped by covid restrictions making vet nurses nervous but thank god our usual vet saw our name on the list and had him brought in last night. I couldn't stop the bleeding and I was worried about overnight with my rubbish bandaging. I think we are known to be 'sensible' following the ££££££ we spend in there on animals! And he will have a little op this morning to make sort out his deep laceration on a toe. He is such a drama queen though. He spent most of yesterday holding his foot up and limping around like a 3 legged dog! He's never been away for the night so I'm worrying. He will probably bark the place down. Meanwhile Luca who is dementing I am sure, just looks worried.

It's hot again so I'm trying shorts. And have just ordered hush denim shorts via JL. dresses just don't suit my lifestyle really!
Too: old hush (2017?)
Shorts: Boden
Sandals: m and s

@OublietteBravo@kite I love that you wear a reiss top with your LY!

Sooverthemill · 16/06/2020 08:59

That didn't work
@OublietteBravo haha good spot by me!
@KiteflyingKat hope you got the message

toastfiend · 16/06/2020 10:11

Thanks @MerlinsButler and @itssquidstella. Smile haha, @KiteflyingKat, they're a bit ridiculous really, but I love them. 😂 I used to have some a similar shape when I was a kid. I bought them on one of my first "shopping with friends and no parents" expeditions. They had skulls on them. My DM LOATHED them! 😂 I loved them so much I even insisted on taking them on holiday to Thailand and absolutely sweltering in 34 degree heat in them. 🙈 I think it's this nostalgia that has me liking the Coles. Probably won't get skulls painted on them, though... 😂

So warm today, although looks like it's about to cloud over now.

Dungaree shorts - Lucy & Yak
Harry Potter top - no idea where it's from, the lovely lady I swapped with for these shorts included it in the package. It has the Deathly Hallows on it, which makes the fantasy geek in me very happy.

In other news I've finally ordered some dungarees, Umis in maroon from L&, am v excited Grin

Top - Ruby and Daisy

For quality gold plated jewellery which doesn’t fade or tarnish I’d recommend Missoma & Rachel Jackson London. Although lovely designs, I wouldn’t personally recommend Monica Vinader- all the rose gold pieces I have from there have not worn well. I understand what you mean about being reluctant to spent money on plated @Terralee. I buy solid gold when it’s jewellery I wear virtually daily. I have a jeweller I trust too. So when I feel like a change, I don’t mind swapping to plated (so long as it’s good quality).

Hope your dog is on the mend @Sooverthemill! You’ve been through the wringer recently.

I have some new cord dungarees arriving today! Very excited.

Not as warm today. Cloud & rain.

Top: M&S
Dungarees: Lucy & Yak

Thanks for the jewellery tips @Terralee. I'll add them to my wish list. Every year I get asked by my Partner what I want for Christmas / birthday and never know what to say. So I'm building up a wish list with links that I can send to him. I do like Missoma and Monica Vinader bit I'm the same re plate. I used to work in a jewellers as a Saturday job and had quality quality quality drummed in to me so always reluctant to spend lots on plated / vermeil pieces.

@toastfiend those coles take
Me back to when we used to shop in Afflecks Palace in Manchester. Everyone had jeans like that. Hoodies with acid face on them and timberlands. The good old nineties. Don't think I'll be revisiting the trend but they suit you so much.

@KiteflyingKat love those Alexa trousers on you.

@oubliettebravo I know what you mean about jewellery. I really like the layered necklace look but mine always just end up tangled together. Must make more effort. Love those jigsaw jeans on you. And as always love the Boden shirt.

@sooverthemill sorry to hear about Percy ( great name). Hope all goes well. The vets here are driving me mad with their precautions. Slightly oTT they won't even take the lead off you, you have to drop them off in a crate outside and leave, if you can get a face to face appointment that is!!! My dog would freak out and chew his way out in 5 seconds if I did that.

Love the shorts outfit. I do like Hush denim shorts too. Look forward for seeing yours.

@TheOnlyMrsW I think I'll be the only one without any L&Y dungarees soon. It is just not something i can pull off.

Nothing special today so dog walking outfit at then moment. It looks like we're going to get more rain / thunder later so will decide on a proper outfit later.

Jeans - mint velvet
T-shirt - Matalan
Dog - Blue Staffie!!

@MerlinsButler those are actually the Hollie jeans from Whistles, but I have the barrel-legs and love them - in fact I have them in three colours!

@EllaPaella you look so pretty in that white blouse - I long to be a floaty cotton type of person, but it just looks completely wrong with the rest of the style. I am always drawn to broderie anglaise.

@toastfiend those jeans look great on you. I think jeans tend to grow a bit, so if you feel they are slightly gappy I would get the smaller size.

Jewellery-wise, I wear a lot of Tatty Devine - big acrylic stuff. But I also have quite a bit of Alex Monroe, and a Rachel Jackson necklace (the ampersand) at the other end of the spectrum. I only ever wear silver though.

Today I'm wearing a dress from Oliver Bonas, and Veja trainers. While everyone is in shorts, I'm in opaque tights for another chilly grey day here.

Oh, @toastfiend I really love those first jeans you posted, but am not quite so keen on the second ones. (I am always so behind on this thread.)

KitMarlowesCodpieceOfThigh · 16/06/2020 12:05

MerlinsButler I also had a mis-spent youth in Affleck's! My brother had the biggest, widest jeans known to man. When they got wet, they used to flap around his legs like massive soggy buckets.

Quite envious of those L&Y wide jeans. I just got some wide jeans from Urban Outfitters but I'm tempted by those as well, now!

itssquidstella · 16/06/2020 12:21

You look great, @KiteflyingKat - I love that top.

Sooverthemill · 16/06/2020 12:29

Thank you all. Waiting to hear back from vet. Had some scary news about DDs blood tests this morning which has left me reeling too. We need to get them repeated ( again) and see how much we need to worry! If I known how much worry and fear goes with being a mum I may not have bred!

OublietteBravo · 16/06/2020 12:57

Oh no @Sooverthemill Flowers - I’m sorry everything is so worrying and stressful at the moment. Sending positive vibes your way.

Shadeslayer · 16/06/2020 14:01

@Sooverthemill this sounds so stressful I'm crossing my fingers for good news soon.

I'm spending the day in leggings I'm cleaning and playing lego

Sooverthemill · 16/06/2020 15:09

Sorry, dog is fine, DH picking him up now. He needed 5 stitches so I'm glad I made a fuss.

Our GP is very poorly with covid 19 so I can't speak to him but DDs blood test potentially shows markers for blood cancer, she had lymphoma 2017/18 and a recurrence is not unusual though not 'common' . Can't speak to our nice calm, lovely GP. Spoke to lovely nurse who tried to talk me down and I know she will keep an eye on us. This is how it started in 2017 with increasing number of little things being wrong until finally admission for full tests. Funnily enough DD said at the weekend she hadn't felt so ill since just before she was diagnosed with lymphoma. When I had it I had had 6 months of increasingly just feeling crap, not being able to shake anything off and being so tired I turned down tickets to see Paul MacCartney because I was so tired. I thought I just had the menopause. I'm sure she doesn't have it but oh god I wish they hadn't said anything! They have to be cautious I know but oh it's scary. It's unfair because without all this she is so unwell all the time! She wanted this to be the year she got well enough to come downstairs.

Sooverthemill · 16/06/2020 15:10

Can't speak to GP because he is off with covid!

Terralee · 16/06/2020 15:38

@Sooverthemill glad your dog is ok now.
Sorry to hear about your daughter's worrying blood results though.

TheOnlyMrsW · 16/06/2020 16:53

@Sooverthemill glad that DDog is ok, you are really going through it with DD, thoughts and prayers to any deity going for you all.
@MerlinsButler another one here with a misspent youth in Afflecks and what was then the Corn Exchange Market! I'm not sure about the dungarees tbh but then I wasn't sure about the Alexas and love them! Am certain that exDH will have something to say as he seems to think that sharing a child still gives him an opinion nearly 13 years down th line but current DH has been known to say that I look good in a bin-bag Grin.

Softpebbles · 16/06/2020 17:56

Ex for a reason!

Oh @Sooverthemill I do hope that the blood tests are a blip. When will DD be retested? Fingers crossed that it all happens quickly. Glad Ddog is ok. X
