The print on that dress is beautiful, @toastfiend

toastfiend · 29/05/2020 10:53

@sickoffamilydrama thank you. The beauty of this dress is I can actually wear a normal bra with it! The straps are thick and tie into bows, so I've just got a bra with thin straps under it and you can't see it at all. I don't own a strapless bra, my post breastfeeding boobs need more support than most strapless bras give, and I find the clear stuff on the back that's meant to stop them slipping down gives me the most enormous blisters on my back, which is really horrid.

@itssquidstella thank you. I LOVE your top. I really like the organza puff sleeves that are about at the moment, and I like the detail on yours, it's really pretty.

toastfiend · 29/05/2020 10:55

@sickoffamilydrama I meant to say, I love your dress, too, although unfortunately would never be able to wear anything like it due to aforementioned strapless bra issues! It really suits you. Smile

cravingthelook · 29/05/2020 12:18

Great dresses @bigeegit @toastfiend @Sickoffamilydrama

I've just got jeans and t-shirt on to work in but planning on getting showered and dressed for the afternoon soon

happytobemrsg · 29/05/2020 14:39

Sorry I’ve been MIA. Today was supposed to be the day of an operation which has been 7 years in the making & it’s been playing on my mind a lot. It’s NHS but because of COVID I went to a private hospital near me & my goodness, it was like a hotel! Anyway... turns out I have to wait a little longer for my operation but after 7 years I got a proper diagnosis so I’m taking that as a win!

Today I’m wearing my super special limited edition dungarees 🌈

Top: Vera Moda
Dungarees: Lucy & Yak

@happytobemrsg that's good you ended up in a private hospital! Hope you're ok

itssquidstella · 29/05/2020 16:47

@happytobemrsg glad you got your diagnosis! Hopefully you won't have to wait too long for the op, and in the meantime you have some excellent dungarees 😁

MerlinsButler · 29/05/2020 17:13

@itssquidstella I have too many pairs of Hush jeans. But those are my new favourites.

Thanks for the tip re the kids section of Boden @oubliettebravo would never have looked there. Sadly sold out in my size but I know for next time. Lovely outfit. I think everyone has put weight on during lockdown. I always wfh but I have literally worn a path to the fridge for snacks this last couple of weeks.

@sooverthemill love that top. It just looks so happy ( if you know what I mean).

@toastfiend that dress is amazing. As is yours @sickoffamilydrama. I don't have many summer dresses as I have issues with strapless bras too so. Only wear them on holiday. Might have to splash out on a couple with straps though.

@happytobemrsg wow 7 years is a long time. Glad you've got your diagnosis and will be getting your op though. Those dungarees are fab.

Nothing fancy for me. I've been working all day with back to back calls so have only just changed out of my dog walking clothes.

Anyone else finding MN weird this evening? It seems to have randomly reordered some posts from @happytobemrsg on this thread (so the final 2 are from 15 and 26 May).

Terralee · 29/05/2020 18:34

Sickoffamilydrama · 29/05/2020 18:38

Yes it did that to me to @OublietteBravo it's back to normal now.

I can remember now why I don't wear strapless bras often this one is pinching now!

happytobemrsg · 29/05/2020 19:34

Thanks for the dungaree love 💕

it’s taken 7 years & my own research to find out what’s wrong with me (a glomus tumour in my hand). I admit I cried a little when the consultant confirmed my diagnosis today - it was a relief.

@Sickoffamilydrama strapless bras are the devil’s work

Everyone looks lovely and summery! It was warm here today, so bare legs for me. ASOS dress, and gold Nikes.

@happytobemrsg I don’t know what that is, but I hope it’s not too serious? I understand the relief of a diagnosis. I have atypical facial pain, which basically means my facial nerves are bust. I spent the best part of a year going to the dentist with searing toothache, in different teeth, all the time, and being told there was no problem. Eventually I was referred to a specalist and had a load of tests, including an MRI, and bam, diagnosis. I still have a lot of pain, because I don’t want to take the nerve medication, but it is such a relief to know what causes it.

happytobemrsg · 29/05/2020 21:53

It’s a relief just having some answers isn’t it @Judystilldreamsofhorses?! Can physio help you? I’ve had shooting pains in my ring finger & wrist for 7 years so they sent me physio for carpal tunnel or tried to get me to take nurofen indefinitely. Then I got a bruise under my nail which wouldn’t go away (for 3 years!) so I was sent to a dermatologist who still didn’t know what it was. Essentially it’s a benign tumour under the nail bed which causes nerve damage but cutting it out is a 100% cure. It’s super rare which is why it goes un/mis diagnosed for years.

happytobemrsg · 29/05/2020 21:54

But more importantly @Judystilldreamsofhorses I love your dress!!

OP posts:
Judystilldreamsofhorses · 29/05/2020 22:43

That sounds horrid, @happytobemrsg. Will you have the surgery? Physio can’t help me, it’s essentially my nerves sending pain signals in my teeth and gums for no reason - my teeth are clinically healthy. My poor dentist was at her wits’ end before I was diagnosed! I was offered an old style of antidepressant which blunts the nerves, but it has significant side effects. I usually get a checkup every three months to reassure me there are no actual dental issues, but missed the one last month which makes me SO anxious. Stress doesn’t help.

Thank you re the dress - it’s an old faithful that comes out every summer!

Sooverthemill · 30/05/2020 08:41

@happytobemrsg well done. Your perseverance won out. I had an op in a private hospital under an NHS scheme to cut waiting times and it was indeed like a hotel. T made me sad that the NHS can’t be as good, not the ‘hotel’ but but the follow up care was brilliant. The hospital phoned every day for a week to check how I was doing after discharge. It was obviously an NHS consultant who also worked there.

@Judystilldreamsofhorses I’m
Sorry you are in chronic pain. That’s shit
I don’t think this is an ‘outfit’ it’s vest and shorts! Very hot here.

Love your dungarees from yesterday @happytobemrsg - so summery! And sorry to hear of your health issues but well down for persevering and getting that diagnosis. That in itself must be some relief.
It's sunny here but I'm not sure it'll be as warm as elsewhere in Uk as we have a cool breeze coming in off the North Sea today. I can actually feel it coming through the window (I'm having a cuppa in bed).
Haven't decided what to wear today - will wait until I've been outside and decide how warm it is (or isn't!).

Sooverthemill · 30/05/2020 10:19

Windy here too. Had to take down the parasol but like you we have seabreezes

OublietteBravo · 30/05/2020 10:48

It’s sunny and warm here. So I’m in shorts. I’m trying to find sufficient motivation to finish painting the bedroom. But I’m very tempted to just sit in the garden and read for a bit.

Sunny again here but quite windy too, am trying to motivate myself to meal-plan and tackle the shops! Dress is FatFace, need to dig out my other Birkenstocks.......

PalacePaper · 30/05/2020 11:31

Lovely and sunny here today so I'm wearing an old t-shirt dress from Boden and my new belt. This belt is turning out to be a very good buy! I had an old one which came free with something years ago which I wore occasionally, but it was definitely worth spending the money as this one is much nicer and I've worn it lots already.

@happytobemrsg I love your dungarees, they're fabulous! I always think those of you on this thread who wear them look amazing in dungarees but they're not for me - but I can imagine myself wearing those ones, they're beautiful. Also pleased to hear you've got a diagnosis, well done for persevering. I hope you can get a dentist check up soon @Judystilldreamsofhorses, I have a lot of anxiety about teeth so I can imagine that must be very stressful. And I love your dress and gold trainers - fab look.

@Sooverthemill I really like your vest top and shorts today, I think they look great Smile
