Well.
I'm not overly impressed tbh
2 of my glass bottles had chunks out of them.
The videos are very very short and not that informative.
I've ended up with 3 x 15ml splash bottles (one of which is an extra bday gift for dh tomorrow)
For £100 I'm unimpressed.
I'm sure it's much better going to the studio.
I might have a go making smaller amounts (already out of vanillin)
I think my tumble dryer is broken teta :(

I rediscovered my untried sample of le parfum de therese, which was the only good thing about yesterday.
I wanted to see what diorella smelt like & this was the closest thing to it.

I definitely need a small bottle of this in my life.
In other news lg are very good - they actually answer their phone calls & I have whatsapped a picture of the damage.( lg washing machine ) Currys are crap - extended warranty for 5 years (£100) and they just abandon the phone call after asking some info. I will never buy anything from Curry's again.

SOTD was Ffern spring but just came home from evening walk and hit by a wave of White Queen that 7yo has obviously been spraying liberally while I was out. Our broken thing was the latch on the front door. We came down this morning and couldn’t get out (although we have got a side way luckily). According to the locksmith it looked like someone had been repeatedly slamming it. This is entirely plausible.

Sorry to hear of domestic woes. We have a very annoying dripping tap in the bathroom, but I am reluctant to have a plumber in while it’s not something urgent.

Some of my final year students turned up here this afternoon with beautiful peonies and other presents - it was SO lovely! One of them lives round the corner and is pretty much the only person I have had a proper chat with - besides DP, obviously - in months.

Sotd is the refreshing citrussy incensey ffern Summer 2019. It's my favourite out of them all.

Yummy cake, yoikes. Did DH like your home made 4160 perfume splash bottle? It’s such a shame the workshop wasn’t impressive. A large part of the workshops is probably the interaction between the participants and there can’t have been much of that?

Sorry to hear about all the household breakdowns. It’s just what you don’t need during lockdown. I have a new cooker on order. My old one was making funny clicking noises and the seal had gone anyway so I decided to get a new one. I really fancied a different make but have ended up with exactly the same model. (I have to have 55cm width.)

Iso e super, musk, hedione, vanilla and black pepper...yum yum.
I made 2 x 5mls for myself too. Both quite similar but pleasant.
I agree...I think that a studio afternoon would be so much better.

Does anyone have any Diorella or any of the chypre Diors that they would be willing to swop with me for decants of some of mine. Or even for sale? I'm having difficulty obtaining decants from reliable sources and I don't think Gerald's decants are still operating any more.

I have eau my soul on one wrist and vetiver insolent on the other, to compare them. They are quite similar now, but they weren't at first. I prefer Vetiver insolent; it's more powdery.

My ds1 is 17 on saturday (what happened!) And we have a gazebo so 2/3 family members can pop round to see us safely.

Great list @Calm. I’m referring back to it for certain ones I’m interested in. Perfume de Therese namely. How come I can’t pick up half the notes that @MrsPerks has? But at the same time it’s a lovely perfume , that incidentally smells so much better sprayed.

Fingers crossed for good weather tomorrow, yoikes, for the birthday boy! It’s forecast to be sunny here.

Yesterday I wore Serge Lutens Fleurs d’Oranger, a stunning orange blossom and white flowers. Unfortunately it has cumin in it to give a spicy depth, and as so often happens with me, the cumin has turned to sweatiness on my skin two or three hours in. I enjoyed the sample but won’t be buying a bottle.

SOTD was 4160Tuesdays Rome 1963. For the first time ever I was able to detect the chocolate note in this perfume. I haven’t had a cold for over four months (understandable when I haven’t been out meeting people) so my nose currently seems to have excellent sniffing powers. It’s one unexpected bonus to counteract the disadvantages of lockdown. 😊

I'm loving my real by the fireplace...feel SO naughty for buying it though!
I keep justifying it to myself that its actually quite cheap per 10ml!
I have 17 birthday scones to make in the morning (Ds1 doesn't like cake) and a summer fruit crumble for my nephews :)

Sotd is Cristalle and yesterday was Private Collection. I'm on an Oakmoss kick again.
I've also ordered a few samples out of interest. I've discovered I don't like Diorama very much as it's too fruity, also Noir d'epices as it's too pungent . My Diorella sample order was cancelled for some reason and I've ordered the New Hiram Green Violet perfume plus the new Rose one - Lustre.
