Work blouses- The Split

I love a good work outfit and with broad shoulders my go to look is blouses. Loving the S2 clothes but my Twitter searching is proving fruitless as to where the clothes are from. I expect they are all £££ but would love to know as I'm getting the twitch to buy some new ones.

The clothes are lovely but yes I reckon they'd be really pricey!

JMAngel1 · 15/02/2020 08:48

No idea where the clothes are from but I am loving S2! Hannah is the most deplorable character ever written!!

StCharlotte · 15/02/2020 09:05

Not from the series but Mango do some lovely blouses/flowy shirts.

OliviaBenson · 15/02/2020 09:20

I've been googling to see where the outfits are from, they are amazing! But I imagine £££ sadly...

AllTheCakes · 15/02/2020 09:21

I have lots of work blouses from H&M. They stock different fabrics and fit nicely for the price.

Oh - I've forgotten about Mango - the do have some nice stuff.

Not too sure about the colour but this is very of the genre

I always used to look to Hawes & Curtis for work blouses and shirts.

ThroughTheRoses · 15/02/2020 11:20

Ruth was wearing a Ted Baker jacket when she went to talk to the students. The Nanny's top (outside the school) was also Ted Baker I think. Others are listed here: www.shopyourtv.com/tag/the-split-2x01/

Hmm did that link work? I can't see it on the app. www.shopyourtv.com/tag/the-split-2x01/

Yes the clothes are fab. This kind of thread happened before with a BBC show and the wardrobe manager came on, it was brilliant! CALLING WARDROBE MANAGER PLS

Rosehipbubbles · 15/02/2020 11:34

How Hannah manages to walk everywhere though in those heels is beyond me though! She always looks immaculate.

And the hairstyles as well.

MabelMoo23 · 15/02/2020 11:44

I LOVE the clothes!!! This is how I would love to look at work. But no doubt super spendy

turnedabout · 15/02/2020 11:52

These characters are not short of money though are they?thr houses the card they do live a super duper top of London career lifestyle. Even Rose who is apparently penniless and her hubby is middle mgt in a bank - they got a lovely flat in a very nice area.

Not so keen on Nina's floaty blue patterned dress tho, looks old fashioned and does her figure no favours- reminds me of the old British airways uniforms from the 1980s - all she needs is one of those wee hats ...

This is the costumer designer

I’m surprised too that there’s no Twitter page or anything as there are so many nice clothes and it’s a big BBC show etc.

Ellapaella · 15/02/2020 12:54

I love the Hawks and Curtis site - some lovely blouses.

justinhawkinsnavalfluff · 15/02/2020 13:00

As a family solicitor I find the emphasis on their outfits hilarious. They are beautiful but IRL most of us go for the finished my hair and make up in the car look! Grin

JMAngel1 · 15/02/2020 15:23

Ooooh so how realistic is the family law work that they do? They don't seem to do very much - seems like a lot of hand holding and common sense and not very much law - I'm sure it must be a lot more hard work than that? Plus all that time staring into space out the window and HOURS spent opening her mouth before she speaks!

StCharlotte · 15/02/2020 15:57

Also, I've worked for solicitors for decades including a very chic practice in Central London so I'm wondering where are all the files?????

LizziesTwin · 15/02/2020 16:01

They don’t advertise on the BBC so they can’t do links to where the clothes are from. A friend of mine used to get asked for a service by producers but as no credit would be given there was no point as they’d just be giving away their time.

justinhawkinsnavalfluff · 15/02/2020 17:18

It bears no relationship to my job. I certainly dont have time to stare out the window or shag my colleagues which I'm sure my DH will be pleased to hear!! I do wish I looked a bit more like them but not a chance with 2 DC and the pressures of work!!

OliviaBenson · 15/02/2020 22:05

Just watched the rest on iplayer. I love all the collarless suit jackets she had and also the blue outfit towards the end. Wish they would say where they were from!!

Africa2go · 15/02/2020 22:41

Its entertaining but absolutely nothing like a family law practice Grin

Herocomplex · 15/02/2020 22:48

I love the clothes, but my main problem is they say they’re leaving ‘late’ but still commute home, get changed, have a meal with the kids and wider family, clear up, chat and then faff about getting ready for bed. What time IS it?
I might be over-invested.

Ellapaella · 16/02/2020 08:08

@Herocomplex I was wondering that.. and then Hannah and her husband still seem to be able to do a couple of hours paperwork in bed after all that? Impressive.
