Looking great all particularly like the wide legs @FuckingHateRats and @cathyandclare.

So when I woke up at 5 it was snowing and my app.told me it would all day as I didn't need to be in our Northern office I decided to work from home the snow has turned into rain so could have gone but at least I don't have a long commute to contend with today.

Which means all my outfit trying on last night was pointless as now wearing a cozy shirt dress! With fluffy slipper socks

Dress Next
Cardigan don't know

OublietteBravo do you have a black mini skirt you could wear it with? I think it would looks amazing with a black mini and black tights.

cathyandclare I love your outfit! The greens together are wonderful.

Lots of cosy, comfy outfits today, I hope everyone is warm and toasty inside. I regretted my bare ankles on my walk from the car to my classroom!

OublietteBravo · 24/02/2020 20:51

@FuckingHateRats - no I don’t. In fact I don’t own a skirt that isn’t patterned - and I think patterned skirt + patterned jumper might be a bit much!

Sickoffamilydrama · 24/02/2020 21:35

You could do over the top of a plain dress @OublietteBravo.

Been thinking of ways to get more from my jumpsuits by wearing a top over them only problem is I'll have to get all my layers off every time I need the toilet.

bigeegit · 25/02/2020 08:27

Morning all! Another simple outfit today, sweater (lk bennett) jeans (river island), coat (dunnes) usual boots, bag (cambridge satchel company)

Sooverthemill · 25/02/2020 08:38

@bigeegit I do like that jumper!

This is for @Ellapaella who encouraged me to be brave!
And as DH isn't home today there's no one to laugh at me
Jumper: hush
Tee: FWP by Rae ( because I think it may be warm today)
Trousers: jigsaw cord kick flares
Trainers: vans ( to replace converse which aren't supportive enough)

Outfit #2 (I think it looks darker in the photo than in real life). I’ve tucked the jumper in today. Which is something that I seem to find difficult to persuade myself to do. Possibly because I’m pear shaped, and therefore I tend to end up with clothes that don’t fit properly around the waist.

Jumper: Jigsaw
Trousers: Hobbs
Shoes: Jigsaw

OublietteBravo · 25/02/2020 08:44

Ooooh. Those cords look great @Sooverthemill. But I’d probably never even have considered them. Perhaps I need to be braver too. Especially as I find S/S styles much less appealing than A/W ones.

Sooverthemill · 25/02/2020 09:08

@oubliette thanks . I've struggled to work out what to wear with them except white or navy. But then thought grey would look good after looking on Pinterest last night. I have to wear all my clothes! I like your jumper tucked in btw

Ellapaella · 25/02/2020 09:09

Love the trews @Sooverthemill - you look great

Ellapaella · 25/02/2020 09:10

@Sickoffamilydrama jumpsuits and jumper definitely sounds like a toilet catastrophe 😄 far too much bother!

cathyandclare · 25/02/2020 09:27

Love the kick flares @Sooverthemill - The Topshop email tells me that flares are where it's at this season.
@OublietteBravo- the top looks great tucked in, you don't look pear-shaped at all.
LOVE that jumper @bigeegit, haven't to hold myself back from purchasing, it's fab.

Yesterday was out and about in snowy Yorkshire then snuggled up working at home.

Jacket-Chelsea Girl (I know!) Brown waxed jeans- River Island. Jumper-Warehouse (also added Spanish Riding Boots to go out).
Jumper- Hush Jersey loose trousers- Me and Em ( slippers not seen!!!)

So wear the jumpsuits more is on. I'm not sure if this is a good look or not but I'm wearing it so 🤷‍♀️
Jumper & jumpsuit are both from new look (which I never really purchase from unless ultra cheap).
Tried this combination two ways decided to go with jumpsuit over the top of the jumper.
Excuse the wet hair marks on the top and that I meet to iron the jumpsuit.

OublietteBravo · 25/02/2020 10:25

@Sickoffamilydrama - I think the jumper underneath the jumpsuit is the right choice (not just because it makes going to the toilet easier). The other look is fine too, but the way you’re wearing it looks best IMO. I don’t think you need to bother ironing the jumpsuit - it doesn’t look creased to me.

toastfiend · 25/02/2020 10:46

Same jumpsuit I've worn before today. It's amazingly soft and comfy, though, and I'm having a day where I want to be comfy.

This thread has made me realise that I naturally gravitate towards the same things very frequently and lots of my wardrobe goes unworn. I don't have much of a desire to wear lots of it, though, so perhaps that's a sign it ought to go. Think I might be going on an eBay listing spree soon. My style has really changed since maternity leave and leaving my office job. I have much more freedom now I work from home and I'm back wearing styles that I feel much more myself in, similar to what I would have picked when I was at uni and could wear what I wanted, and I felt really confident in myself then. A lot of the Lucy & Yak stuff fulfills that for me, even if they're not to everyone's tastes, so perhaps it's time to give up on some of the other stuff as even when I'm meant to be shopping my wardrobe I'm not wearing it. 🤷‍♀️

Anyway:

Boiler suit - Lucy & Yak
Belt - Lucy & Yak

I followed lots of posters' advice from when I wore it previously to reduce the Santa outfit vibes and have rolled the legs and paired it with leopard print trainers from a little online shop when I went out. The trainers aren't my favourite shoes ever, but I did much prefer the look and it means they're getting worn when they've been a bit unloved in my wardrobe for a while.

@cathyandclare I love your outfits - that jacket is amazing - I didn't know Chelsea girl were still a thing!
I'm just wearing Levi's (again), top from local boutique and Hush boots.
I really want to find a different style of trousers to wear - going to experiment with some wide legs, maybe spend half a day at the shops finding a decent pair.

OublietteBravo I think today's combo is lovely.

Toastfiend I love the jumpsuit! What an excellent colour. Is the boiler suit recent? 👀

Sickoffamilydrama prefer it with the jumper underneath too. Really like that look.

Ellapaella you have a look of spring about you today!

Today I'm wearing:
Top: H&M (unsure of colour )
Skirt: Primark
Jumper: H&M
Belt, flats and tortoiseshell hoops ASOS

I don't 'love' it but I feel quite uncomfy in myself this size. One of my students said I was dressed "like a gladiator", whatever that means!!

@FuckingHateRats I love your outfit today! Thanks for the boilersuit love. I bought it before Christmas, but pretty certain it's still in stock on their website. It's honestly the most comfy item of clothing I've ever owned.

Ellapaella · 25/02/2020 13:02

You look great @FuckingHateRats - love that outfit. It's not screaming gladiator at me though I have to say Grin

OP posts:
Spam88 · 25/02/2020 14:02

Struggling to get any gladiator vibes from that outfit... you look lovely though!

Sickoffamilydrama · 25/02/2020 18:32

I to can't work out what is gladiator like, maybe the jumper looks like the folds or a cloak if you squint and don't actually look properly

So I can confirm wide legs are to cold for a sleety windy day and as I'm walking into town to meet friends later I've changed, I've got my knee high boots on now and I'm much warmer
Top Boden
Jumper M&S
Jeans Next
Jacket Debenhams yes i could be mistaken for a giant tomato and I don't care

cathyandclare · 25/02/2020 19:25

You look lovely @FuckingHateRats - also missing the gladiator vibes. Are your helmet and breastplate off camera?

Lovely cool looks from @Ellapaella and @Toastfiend, as ever.

@Sickoffamilydrama I love that red coat, gorgeous colour and so snuggly.

happytobemrsg · 25/02/2020 21:07

Leather leggings- Mint Velvet
