I have this dress to wear to a wedding and I also have nude shoes like in the picture or should I get a gold pair??? Also...hair up or hair down?? I feel like hair up would be nicer but she pulls off hair down with it!

Mmmm it's nearly white .....it used to be bad form to wear white to a wedding ?!

Normandy144 · 25/01/2020 18:08

Are you the bride? If so then gold would be nice and hair up would be appropriate.

Parttimers · 25/01/2020 18:12

No I’m not the bride...the dress is gold...nothing bridal about it!!

You can't wear that dress to a wedding unless it's yours

Stayawayfromitsmouth · 25/01/2020 18:19

Um it looks like a brides dressing gown.
But if you insist then nude, gold or champagne shoes

Normandy144 · 25/01/2020 18:20

Oh ok sorry, it looks ivory in the picture, hence my assumption you were the bride. I would stick to hair down as hair up i think would feel a bit to bridal. If it's a gold dress then, gold shoes would work.

Tellingitlikeitisnt · 25/01/2020 18:21

Ooh you will be The talk of the wedding if you aren’t careful!

I’d add a bright cerise belt and shoes or something to stop it being so bridal if I was desperate to wear it

Parttimers · 25/01/2020 18:22

@angelaEhen what on earth??! The dress is GOLD!! Not white!! It looks nothing like a bridal gown!!

It definitely doesn't look very gold in that picture but it could be a different colour in real life. I'd definitely say you need to put a big colour belt round it and some coloured shoes to match to lose the "bridal" ness about it. I wouldn't got that "white-Ish" to a wedding.

Rystall · 25/01/2020 18:26

I think the dress is gorgeous OP. I’m not getting the bridal vibe at all. Definitely hair down - hair up is a bit passé now I think. I’d wear nude shoes with it. Please don’t wear a big coloured belt!! 🙈

Is it this? Gold with a silver sheen?

If it's a really formal wedding it'll be ok but it is quite bridal otherwise. I'd wear gold probably.

Gogolego · 25/01/2020 18:27

Yabu to wear that to a wedding full stop

At the very best it looks like the dressing gown the bride would wear on her wedding day. And the bridesmaids would wear similar in pastel pink

And pale gold is still rather bridal I'm afraid

Etcni · 25/01/2020 18:27

if it looks that white in the shop's photos, it may also look white in the wedding pictures so should probably be avoided!

Parttimers · 25/01/2020 18:30

It’s gold!! It looks good...it is not bridal at all I have worn gold and silver to many weddings and no one has batted an eyelid!! Honestly...

@Rystall 🤣🙈 I have no intention of wearing a belt with it!!

Hair down it is...much easier to I suppose!!

@Noeuf yes that’s it I thought it had the description in my first photo.

Doesn't look gold, looks off white

Parttimers · 25/01/2020 18:32

I’m in Ireland where most weddings are ver dressy and formal, it’s in a castle.

Cockw0mble · 25/01/2020 18:33

Given that some brides wear champagne, ivory or cream it is too bridal for my taste.

crustycrab · 25/01/2020 18:34

Looks like the bride! People probably have "batted an eyelid" but are too polite to actually say anything!

poopiedoop · 25/01/2020 18:35

I think it looks bridesmaidsy particularly with nude or gold heels.

sparklefarts · 25/01/2020 18:37

It definitely looks ivory in that picture and like you shouldn't wear it to a wedding.

Pic in real life to show the real life colour?

FluffyEarMuffs · 25/01/2020 18:40

Many many bride's dresses are gold (or silver).

Mine was gold.

But even if it had been white, I'd have been pissed off had you turned up on this. It's way too bridal.

Gogolego · 25/01/2020 18:41

@Cockw0mble That was the point I was trying to put across just as articulate. Not all wedding dresses are brilliant white. And Champagne/ pale gold are perfectly acceptable as other options. Maybe even more so

Parttimers · 25/01/2020 18:41

@crustycrab ppl over here don’t mince their words they say what they think...believe me I would know if someone cared!! I really don’t think the wearing white or black rule applies anymore!! I have seen Plenty of ppl wear black, white, gold and silver to weddings before!!

OP posts:
Parttimers · 25/01/2020 18:42

The brides dress is white....I have seen it. If she had a good dress I would probably think twice. But she doesn’t...
