Just bought this lovely dress (still waiting for it to arrive). Do you think I could wear it to a wedding in July? No biggie if not. It’s probably too white now I think about it 🤔

I love it. I think it’s neither too white nor too casual. I love the sleeve shape.

Disfordarkchocolate · 20/01/2020 08:02

I think it's absolutely lovely with some colourful accessories. It's not compulsory to wear a Phase 8 type dress to a wedding. I love the idea of colourful trainers.

If you're only being invited because you can look the part for the photos it will be a very odd day.

BikeRunSki · 20/01/2020 08:54

If White Stuff did wedding dresses....

onanothertrain · 20/01/2020 09:51

Too casual and I also think it's horrible

Doyoumind · 20/01/2020 09:55

I don't think it's too casual or too white. Dress it up with colourful accessories and you will be fine.

Spam88 · 20/01/2020 09:58

I don't think it's too casual, but I do think it's too white. And tbh I think if you're questioning it you might feel a bit self conscious about it if you did wear it?

misspiggy19 · 20/01/2020 09:59

Too white and too casual

PegasusReturns · 20/01/2020 10:03

Too white and too casual.

From a distance people will see a white dress.

Miseryisabutterfly · 20/01/2020 10:03

I think it’s lovely and with bright accessories it’ll be perfect. I would wear it to a wedding.

Pajamagirl · 20/01/2020 10:06

Sorry too casual , and too white .
Don’t really like it tbh

Cotswoldmama · 20/01/2020 10:08

I think it's perfect!

peachgreen · 20/01/2020 10:27

I really like it, but it's too white.

Sakura7 · 20/01/2020 10:38

Too white and too casual, sorry.

You don't need to spend loads to get a dress that would work, no need to go to Ted Baker, Coast, etc. One example from New Look in the link below, but there'll be other stuff out there for a similar price:

CountFosco · 20/01/2020 11:08

Cobalt blue bag, orange pointy flats and it'll look perfect for a wedding. Definitely not too casual and as long as you wear colourful accessories not too white.

Drabarni · 20/01/2020 11:11

I don't think it's smart for a wedding, but a lovely casual hanging around at home dress.
Any white is too much at a wedding, if the bride is wearing white.

Eyefatigue · 20/01/2020 11:14

I think it's perfect for a wedding. Not too white and definitely dressy enough

knittedgoldfish · 20/01/2020 11:17

Sorry OP, I think depending on the wedding it is both too white and too casual.

It also really reminds me of children's curtains! www.johnlewis.com/little-home-at-john-lewis-stars-pencil-pleat-blackout-lined-children's-curtains-multi/p3471092

Sorry but I'd return and look for something else.

DateLoaf · 20/01/2020 12:42

I really like the shape and also want to know where it’s from, but I also want to know what it’s made of. Is it light coloured polyester? That can be a bit see through and require a lot of faffing about with wearing layers underneath-so not going to be great for a hot July wedding.

sandybanana · 20/01/2020 14:32

Nope

Too white. Too casual

It's a no from
Me

Igneococcus · 20/01/2020 15:12

It looks like it's from Nobody's Child.

Igneococcus · 20/01/2020 15:15

This one:
www.nobodyschild.com/clothing/dresses/cream-star-georgie-midi-dress.html

I have two dresses from them and love both.

NotYourHun · 20/01/2020 19:01

Damn I really like that, it’s in my size, and only £14 BUT January is a bloody long and poor month.

DoAsYouWouldBeMumBy · 20/01/2020 19:07

I love it! Of course it's dressy enough. It's dressy in an urban way - I definitely wouldn't wear it with heels. Sheesh, there are so many squares around Confused

NiteFlights · 20/01/2020 19:09

It’s much much nicer than the blue New Look dress linked above and would be just as ‘dressy’with accessories as discussed upthread.

MissBridgetJones · 20/01/2020 19:15

I'm a stickler for wedding attire etc. I don't think it's 'too white' it has coloured stars on for goodness sake! I would suggest a low block heel in blue or coral... strappy flats would have to be really something special to cut the mustard!
